Wreck-It Bowser

-You can Klaw Hop over banana peels, which helps you approach.

-Know how to Z-Catch and Instant Item Throw, because they might come in handy.

-Know how to glide toss, because you can give Diddy a taste of his own medicine if you have a peel in hand. FSmash followups, anyone?

-Get him off the stage. Diddy thrives on controlling the stage, and his recovery isn't the best. Bowser is no gimping expert, but he can definitely rack up Diddy's damage or even possibly land a killing aerial.

-Be mindful of how you tech or techroll, because predictable decisions will result in Diddy doing horrible things to you constantly.

-At higher percents, you can prevent yourself from getting hit by the 2nd hit of Diddy's FSmash.

-Never waste a banana peel in your hand. Don't just throw it straight at him or off the stage. Keep it in your hand for a while (so he can't generate a 2nd one) and find an appropriate time to use it.

Anyone else care to add or correct anything?

Anyway, it's a tough -2 MU, but I consider it a fun one, unlike certain other -2s (Falco, I'm looking at you. :glare:).
Thank you, that will definitely come in handy. I want to win against one of the best in my region...and he only knows like, the MK-Diddy Kong MU. Everything else seems to be a mystery for him, so I might take him by surprise like a Yoshi did one day and won a tournament.

And I agree with Limit, Falco is a fun MU. And it's thanks to you, Limit. Those videos against Cold_degree and Strounbert made it happen.

Learn to dodge drop nanas and to do z drop aerials.

Dodge dropping is more important (and easier) as Bowser has can do some nasty things if he gets frame advantage through an airdodge such as upb, utilt etc. Having the nana hit the opponent makes it a lot better but as with everything you can't spam it.

And punish glidetosses with downb. Just kidding.

Man, MrEh was really outplaying that D3. It sucks that D3 is always rough for Bowser, even without the infinite. The risk-reward ratio in that MU in general is balls for us (but not as balls as ICs). You can make fewer mistakes than the other guy and still lose, as shown here. :urg:

If anything, I jump even more now.

Nowadays, when I play Brawl, I just try to do funny things and put on a show.

What, you think this is some sort of game where you're meant to have fun?

On a side note, if you haven't already played Darkness 2, get it and play it. It's my game of the year thus far if I don't end up giving it to Kingdom of Amalur out of pity.

I have, he's pretty neat but other characters can do some really stupid stuff to him (in some ways more stupid than in Brawl) if they maneuver around his range and armor moves. He's definitely a better character though.

Agreed.

He can get combo'd and juggled really hard, but his knockback, damage, and shield damage are ridiculously good. Bowser Bomb cancel and armor on various moves help him out a lot too. In any MU against Bowser in this game, it's **** or be *****. He is truly a tank of extremes.

All in all, he's the best incarnation of Bowser in Smash history. I wouldn't rank him among the best in the Project: M demo 2.0, but he can hold his own against anyone. He's finally *GASP* viable.

I'm looking forward to the full game.

He's certainly good, but I sucked with Melee Bowser back at the time I tried the hack. Now I know how to L-Cancel, which helps a ton. He's a good character, honestly. But I prefer Bowser in Brawl Minus. :awesome:

You know how with a normal game you play it for a bit and it's fun and then you stop and... I don't know, do your homework or spend time with your girlfriend or what have you? With Civilization 5, you start playing... then you look at the clock and it's 4 or 5 hours later, then you play some more... then you think, gee, I'm kinda hungry right now, then you play some more...

You don't play Civ5. You make a commitment that the next several hours are out of your hands. Hell, when you actually finish a game, you have your stats page and two options: "Exit to main menu" and "Wait... just... one... more... turn..." I'm not even joking.

EDIT: A note about Joe's complaint about diplomacy, they've long since patched that and it's a lot better than it was at launch.

For those of you who don't know, World of Tanks is probably the best free to play game. Period. End of story. If you can't tell from the title, you drive around tanks and you shoot other tanks and while slight changes have been made for balance/game play reasons, the game has probably the most true to life tank on tank action you'll ever see of Russian, German, US, and French tanks from the mid 1900s. Some existed only in blue prints making the experience that much more unique.

Granted, I didn't think the historical... ness mattered all that much at first, but all it takes is the tiny bit of info supplied in game and watching the simple joy of faithful recreations of multi ton, all terrain, big *** guns shooting at each other and then you're looking up Wikipedia articles on the real machines themselves.

And did I mention that the game is awesome tank on tank action?

Well, World of War Planes just entered closed beta and after playing the alpha I'm even more stoked about this than I was about World of Tanks during it's beta. It's essentially the same thing with a third dimension, making the combat a lot more intense as players of the excellent flight combat game Crimson Skies well know.

Now I just heard World of Battleships is in the works. If it ends up ANYTHING like it's land and air based counterparts, it should be amazing as well.

And before anyone asks, no, it's not pay to win.

For more info on World of Tanks I'll let ChaosD1 take over via video.

Just popped into the DUST beta. It's just as user friendly as Menus: The Game- er, I mean EVE Online. The gameplay needs to be amazing if they have any hope of getting people to play it because half the draw of EVE is that you causally "play" it at your cubicle. This is a shooter so I'm guessing there'll be at least much time spent looking at spread sheets as you'll spend actually shooting anything, thus, like EVE, this game will be need a lot of commitment... in a world where CoD exists and Halo 4 looms on the horizon.

EDIT: Okay. I actually played the game for a bit just now and it sucks. It really sucks. I don't know how much info breaches the no disclosure agreement, so I wont go into detail, but I WILL say I have no idea how this is in beta right now. It plays like it's in pre-alpha. I didn't have any expectations beyond the depth of the customization and a severe lack of user friendlyness, but this gameplay is just deplorable. Play the original Quake before you entertain thoughts of playing DUST.

after playing UMvC3 for so long, it felt d r e a d f u l

but I think I'm ready to come back again...I think.

Surprisingly I don't think I lost much Bowser stuff, I felt fine when playing him.

I've been excited for that movie ever since it was reported Bowser was in it several weeks ago. Can't wait to see Bowser's big screen debut. :)

"The minute I saw Bowser, the Pacman ghost, M. Bison, Zangief(?), and Eggman in the same room, I knew then that this would be the greatest movie ever."
That is all.

My new philosophy for Smash and life is "I'M GONNA WRECK IT!"

Hopefully Ralph and Bowser will have some awesome scenes reserved just for them.

That's what I heard. I heard that Pollock got the role.

Edit: Nevermind. This is why we can't believe everything on the internet. -_-

They got the SF4/SFxT Bison VA, so it wouldn't be out of the realms of possibility for them to get Pollock.

Went to a Smashfest last night and played competitive Smash for the first time in 2 months. I gotta say, it felt absolutely amazing. I played without any pain for the first time in nearly 2 whole years.

Feels good to be back. :)
