Mario is my favorite. Luigi, Yoshi, Toad, Bowser, Wario, Koopa Troopa, Kamek, Donkey Kong, Waluigi round out my top 10 in that order, though Alex is pretty awesome too.

For some reason, I always thought of him with a Christopher Lee voice. It sort of ruins the cute factor when he has the voice of Dracula and Sarumon.

If Donkey Kong Country games counted as Mario, I would vote Donkey Kong. But they dont, so I'll stick with Wario and the Piantas.

Why wouldn't Donkey Kong be included with Mario? The first Mario game was called Donkey Kong. lol Besides, Wario has two series of his own yet he's still a concrete part of the Marioverse.

Donkey Kong is part of the Mario Universe so you can count Donkey Kong. Donkey Kong is on Mario spinoffs for a reason. ;p

I'm sure Donkey Kong Country has some ties with Mario series.
