i was that ICs

and i welcome camping. I usually like to be camped as ICs =)

but yeah, you gotta play a little gay vs them as wario

watch PhantomX vs Hylian, he doesnt play THAT gay and he still ***** haha

oh to practice camping, just listen to some music and play the "don't get hit" game
what you do is you look at the timer and try to go as long as you can without getting hit

its really fun in doubles!

That vid with Atomsk looks exactly like Cruel Brawl.

Even the music sounded similar.

Never MM Atomsk in Cruel Brawl.

Raz, I think you're basically using the same thing as "don't get hit", which is generally taken as about as serious as "don't get grabbed" or "Level 9's are impossible to beat".

Wario can camp. But can we camp? Humans.

Anyways,

As for the bike, I'll keep that in mind but I'm not gonna **** w/ that til I rly know what the hell I'm doing with Wario basics spacing/punishment/running away/recovery/etc.

Thanks God. Most people run head first into the bike shenanigans without figuring out Wario first.

Pokemon Trela beat Bassem and Krystedez dude. No such thing as a "free win" ever.
I had controller johns to the max. I literally could not fast-fall-clap or fast-fall-fart the entire day. (which are my punish tactic for lucario's dair, but I kept floating around and getting hit by the side-part of his dair because I couldn't fastfall. That is why he lived so long, taking my two-stock lead down to a loss for game 1. >_<; )

Trela knows this (nods nods).

Lucario indeed is not free. But he certainly isn't that hard. I still give kudos to Trela, he's the best 'cario I've played, but I don't have any good Luc's in my region at all. I'm still pissed that I came home and found that it was my controller doing **** bad (I can't arrow loop down as fast as I can up with Pit unless I'm using my roomie's controller now. It's a sad day.)

Lol controller johns are laaaame xD just get a new one. My buddy johns about his controller SO freaking much, and it's annoying as **** lolol.

My good old Wario controller (painted purple and yellow) was my favorite! I still used that thing even though the thumb pad on the control stick came off halfway, leaving sharp edges (ouch after a while). However, when the c-stick started to not respond, I retired the old vet for a different controller.

Edit: Oh and I decided **** camping. I was reading the 2nd Drizzt book last night and I realized something. Our principles are the guidelines to our lives. Without principles and beliefs, what are we? My principle is **** camping xD

It WAS a new one o_o...Like...it was really only about 6 months old, ordered from Play-Asia. I should have just taken my buddy's newer controller, since I already broke mine in though I didn't think it'd have problems... Boy was I wrong XD If I knew it had issues I wouldn't have brought it.

Controller johns are lame.. Both when you are the one johning about it or the one hearing about it v_v

Wow Play-Asia? Was it new or used? The controller I use is literally years and years aged. It was my friends silver controller back in the old melee days (like 2006 seriously), and he painted it black and blue. It's like an old man haha, but still one tough cookie :p

Or... do you play against Ice Climbers often? Haha maybe mashing out like crazy wore it out?

I mashed out of grabs a lot back before I found out how irratating it was with tap jump on and I stopped mashing out so much (tap jump = you mash out and air release sometimes. . . )

Haha I know right? This is how I mash out of grabs:

- Press A and B
- Wiggle the control stick in half circles downward

Yeah they get a few extra pummels on me, but at least I don't air break! I was under the impression that even if you had tap jump off, you still air broke if you pressed up on the control stick? Am I wrong? It's really annoying having to make a new tag every time, I would much rather just use vanilla controls.

It's just accidentally pressing the y or x button as well. If you want to completely remedy air breaks from in between pummels . . . you need to remove jumping on the buttons and controls you use... Which is stupid.

Humans are violent and aggressive by nature. Some of us choose to embrace our barbaric and animalistic nature, baring our teeth and roaring in aggressive pride. Other more highly developed and heavenly beings find patience and wisdom easy to come by, watching their enemies quietly from afar and laughing at their weak efforts at attacking them.

Well that's my theory on the subject :p

lol I think he meant more like in theory, Wario's godly air mobility and airdodge means he can move out of the way of any atack before it hits, in essense, if wario wants to run away, you cant catch him. but that is in the case of perfect aircamping... humans are imperfect, we will get hit.

Here's a bit of useful info I just came across. I need to do some more testing to make sure, but have you ever had trouble with a defensive MK? All they do is wall with fairs and dairs, blocking your attacks and frustrating the living **** outta you? Haha. Well check it out. Spacing Bair against MK successfully goes through Mk's fair (so far), gets in a good chunk of damage (10%) and throws off his game a little bit! Brb gonna go test more :) yall should try it out sometime! I've never seen any Wario do it yet, including myself.

I figured this out a few weeks ago, but I have a pretty bad memory and just plain forgot lol.

Ok I found they work a lot better against a dair camping MK than a fair walling MK. Dammit, defensive MK playstyle is soo freakin hard to fight against! >:(

Yeah that's basically what it turns into. A really spacey game, in shield more than you'd like and relying on small pokes to build damage. Almost never get a chance to kill, have to be really clever with long range moves such as Ftilt and Uair. Fart opportunities are extremely rare, often a fully charge fart is badly whiffed in a desperate failed prediction.

So what you're trying to say is that you're bad, or don't know the matchup...

Guys I have a tournament tomorrow!
I kinda need help with the matchup VS ROB and ZSS :S
HALP!
ZSS i kinda know that matchup. If you try hard enough you can win it.

You get juggled like a b**** in the air so dont get put in that position at low%

try to keep yourself inside zss out of upair range but close enough so you dont get sideB'd

grabbing is gonna important in your game. Shieldgrab the dsmash or w/e

grabbing might be important, but dont get yourself in the position where YOU are about to get grabbed. Zss is gay when it comes to grab release.

If Zss is Grab release > dsmashing you. You can Bike out before she Dsmashes again.

take advantage of Zss off stage.

Watch out for her uptilt, it is REALLY fast.

stage: i am not gonna suggest any stages in this matchup because Zss doesnt really have any bad stages and neither does wario. Just go wherever you are comfortable with..

Some things to keep inmind while CPing or striking: Smashville has a moving platform so if you are gonna get grab released, try to wait for the platform and mash when the platform gets near you.

You need to kill with your farts. Zss is light, use that to your advantage. Also save your Fsmash for the kill.

Your going to need upair in this matchup. I say use it to rack up damage. otherwise its a good move to kill with.

DONT RUSH THIS MATCHUP! you will get punished pretty hard.

Play safe and smart. Keep away from getting juggled, and try to either stay completely away from Side B range or just inside where if you see a side B coming out you can punish it.

Hope you preform well.

if she catches on to you biking out of grab release she'll start kicking you so it becomes a guessign game of whether you think she'll dsmash or aerial

i just grab zss a lot, and wafts are pretty easy to land as well

vs rob, dont try to punish his spot dodges with grab, ****s too hard and you'll get dsmashed, just bite lol

also uthrow rob then bait him for claps or bites or w.e

ZSS grab release: if you know a dsmash is coming, bike.. otherwise if you try to bike and it turns out she is gonna regrab, you lose your bike (im pretty sure)

No, if you try to Bike when she just wants to regrab, you'll keep your Bike. The reason Bike works is because dsmash' hitbox is frame 21, though ZSS really only has a 20 frame advantage. However, NOTHING in your arsenal really activates on frame 1 except for jump (which, in 1 frame time, doesn't net you the distance to get out of dsmash range) and Bike.

The Bike gets into the game starting at frame 1, but won't become a hitbox until frame 16. Once it gets out though (frame 1) it kinda distorts Wario's hurtbox and generally messes with a lot of physics the game has to offer. The Bike doesn't feel pity or remorse, and will cancel out all sorts of stupid attacks and projectiles and it cannot be stopped unless killed Wario jumps off it. (edit: or Wario get knocked off it, of course...)

It can really be used in really weird situations, I've heard (though never tried cause it warrants more failure than it ought to) it can be used to get out of Snake's nair (which probably works, Marth can upB out of it as well which means the individual hits don't really combo into each other), you can pull out your Bike while being chaingrabbed by Falco (though that's never really a good thing), you can use it to cancel out those annoying aura spheres Lucario sends after you trying to catch your landing frames (really, you can do that **** on reaction).

Anyway, Bike works against the dsmash. But if she can also do a normal regrab (as noted) which is rather gay and annoying and generally a huge waste of time cause it's rather difficult to do and eventually you'll just take 15% worth of pummels and then you get a free fsmash cause they **** up. If they don't **** up, then it's all the more gay cause they'll be grab releasing you for 3 minutes straight until you finally get into kill percentage.

Oh another thing against ZSS concerning the Bike: if she starts camping with neutral B, you can just Bike right through it. If timed well, you'll catch her in her cooldown lag (meaning: guaranteed 9% **** yeah (no really)).

loool wall of text

actually, I tested the ZSS thing and it turns out Wario can BITE ZSS before the dsmash hits him (EPIC).

anyways, I just wanted to say that campy/safe Wario is AWESOME!. I played it this morning after the tournament for a while and I never had to time anyone out, but the match was really just going at my own pace, lol. I'd rack up 70% damage VERY slowly... and when I'm ready, just fart, lol. getting more and more consistent with my farts though :D

However I have a bit of a dilemna with this strategy... I cant actually hit Olimar without landing on the ground near him and that just gets me grabbed... any solutions?

wario stuff to practice in training mode?
1. Falco chaingrab (set falco to 53% and jump mode, reset damage when he reaches over 74%)

2. Throw bananas around if you feel like it.

3. Fly as high as you can with Wario Man.

4. Build custom stages with bike jumps and spike pits, play on in training mode for slow motion action.

5. Some combo you've been dying to try out (Uair -> footstool -> Weak Nair hit -> Nair lock -> Bite)
