alright kids, time to settle this with the old famous luke quote ****

Luke i think that bringing out TL only for singles was part of his tactics_ Speaking to him, i gained the impression that the East Coast didn't have too much TL experience against Sam's playstyle and he seemed to know this all too well_

I wouldn't necessarily call it sandbagging, just more clever tactics which seemed to pay off on the day_ You know Sam is sandbagging when he doesn't play Snake or TL_ Generally if he plays as TL he is playing seriously_
well he did play some of us without using snake or tl, so I said he was sand bagging, and by your own words you agree with me, cool. its a tactic, it works.

In my experience, and i'm being completely honest after having been in the Perth scene since Brawl's conception, I originally met Sam and assumed he was quite arrogant or shut-in_ But noticing that he gradually became a much more approachable person to talk to and hang out with it i just think it's his personality or aura_ I notice that when Sam is 'in the moment' he is very very confident and it shows and i guess you could say it comes across as arrogance_

this is basically an elobrated version of what I said

The truth is i think you all put a massive '**** you' attitude out there at the start and he was determined to throw it back in your faces_ Next time we meet i'm sure there won't be such an awkward atmosphere_ Also Swordsaint did get kind of shutdown after his constant flamboyant bragging that he would completely decimate Sam, only to get beaten_ Everyone has some kind of arrogance_ It just depends how you use it when it comes to the crunch_
actually as far as I am aware it was only really scoot (swordsaint) and shaya, alot more of us thought he wouldnt win (I fall into that catagory) but we we're "**** you" or anything like that, besides you werent even there so how would you know anyway, silly conclusions and opinions of things you dont know about make you look bad ;)

And besides, no johns_
seeing as shaya's first name is john, we can all agree on this. <3 shaya.

btw Luke is a top bloke like an awesomely awesome bloke.....if you're on his good side :p
thanks tibs, I am a bit of a **** head though.
mm whats cooking? tibs ribs? would you like a brofist to high five to go with that?
tibs is way more awesomely awesome then me.

you calling me a bad player was something i heard from someone in the perth scene, I'll disregard it, but it came from one of your own :(

in either case, you can't really judge my falco considering i used him maybe a total of 5 times in the whole tournament. I also didn't use him on you, so yeah.
well scoot, he may not have actually called you a bad player, but even if he did, you asked for it (scoot: Corpse will get a terrible pool, and not make it through them hence getting last and making Perth the laughing stock of Australia.)

inb4yourcomebackbeingyousayingthatitwasajoke

Anyway, I had fun at Rocky, as far as I knew I didn't make any enemies, everyone was cool and fun to talk to but if people didn't like me for some reason then so be it.
nah your alright dude, we were all just a bit buthurt and shocked, but its all over now and everyone is happy, except maybe scooter but I think he'll be fine too.

Wow, I didn't realise some (most?) people over at Rocky thought I was some sort of evil arrogant showoff.
your pretty much ganondorf.

Everyone that has a problem with Sam should deal with Sam directly...
well I applogized to him, but I did it in this thread, did you read that sam?

sure some things were said in one video that perhaps as a little mean
my bad

Whats with everyone, we're all acting like idiots.

we are all idiots ;)

You guys are anoyed that he was using snake in doubles. To be honest if he was using toon link, Meteor and Him would of won Brawl Doubles.
OMG JOHNS! nah it was a wise choice for him to go snake.

I think it's pretty childish that people have come to conclusions without even making an effort to realise they're mistake. Luke is not in this category because he DID realise his mistake, and apologised. Even if you dislike Samuel, I don't think it's fair that you come to the Perth thread and say something along the lines of 'yeah I don't like corpse'. Because quite frankly, I, as well as the rest of the perth community, DO care about these sort of things. Just keep it to yourself and channel it into something productive, like a motive to get better and beat him next time
this is very valid, coloured for importance

I laughed when I read it. Corpse isn't arrogant, I spoke to him and his brother for ages; I didn't get that impression at all. As opposed to rage quitting a match because someone else (who usually uses Ness) decides to pick MK.
LOL, you saw that metanova, how funny was it eh? well this quote wins the thread imo, good job dude.

whew, well that took a while, and it wasnt even really needed, so theres some overkill for you.

Loser's final, yay ^^ I still think a better name for it should be given, like 2nd chance finals or Purgatory finals, given that "Loser's Finals" kinda has a bit of a connotation to it :p

Not a joke.

Trashtalking.

In fact in private I quite commonly said Corpse will probably win.

It's not good to make it public that you think you're gonna lose.

I spoke to corpse and pwnsweet a lot. I thought they were cool, it wasn't til after the event when a perth player made corpse look bad did I ever get a bad impression. Before that, I was always behind corpse hoping he'd win.

And this is why I'm taking a break from the actual tournament scene. Everything's taken out of context because things are either percieved wrongly, or I don't portray things properly.

(scoot: Corpse will get a terrible pool, and not make it through them hence getting last and making Perth the laughing stock of Australia.)

That was impossible from the start considering that everything was seeded. That alone proves I was mucking around and/or proves that people have grown accustomed to treating me like I'm an idiot and don't take things in to consideration.

"flamboyant bragging that he would absolutely decimate Sam"

That alone irks me more than everything, because again, somethings been taken out of context, or it's a complete fabrication. NO WHERE did I ever say I would decimate Sam. The absolute worst I ever said/believed was that Sam was a good player, but I "think" I can beat him. Same way Sam didn't believe he would win Rocky, but at the same time thought it was a possibility.

Thinking positive makes things possible.

And now I'm getting judged as some guy that'll probably hold a grudge, like I would hold resentment so strong that there was a chance I wouldn't get over it.

I probably come across as some cold-hearted ******* because sometimes I don't ask questions the right way. I have emotions people, and the fact that everytime I get blinded by them and do something the wrong way and get judged for it negatively actually hurts me and it only makes it worse. My emotions build up and I do something the wrong way again, its become a cycle.

I don't like it. If you have some sort of problem, talk to me about it, instead of making jokes and talking about me in 3rd person. If there's something that you don't like, maybe I can change something or answer a question if things came out wrong.

I'm just sick and tired of being judged by people who don't even talk to me, or neglect to take the time to learn why. Stop taking things at face value.

It hurts sometimes.

Amen ^^

Still, I actually didn't catch the trashtalking and thus I didn't partake in any of the trashback, but let me make a general statement: everyone loves beating a trashtalker... It doesn't matter if he's the nicest guy in the world - if he tries to throw you off your game by trashtalking and you win you're going to feel pretty ****ed good about yourself :p In that euphoric state of mind, some (er, most :p) people choose to trashback to get their own back for being trashed in the first place... I agree this went a bit out of hand, but really, it's the internet, so I'm not surprised TBH ^^ Let's just forget it ever happened and stop talking about it publicly, as I think it's gotten as good as it's going to get in open discussion without everyone holding hands and throwing daisies :p

NO WHERE did I ever say I would decimate Sam.
Decimate = to reduce by 10%... Hell, even I can do THAT to Sam :p In fact, that's pretty much my favourite phrase when I trashtalk people because it somehow got a horridly wrong connotation somewhere in modern English history that I can totally roll with xD

Anyway, 1500/2500, and I've officially given up... I'm submitting it now :p There's only so much you can write on freakin' paint mists...

look I know you dont wanna hear this but you should, you were rather honest in that last post, but its not really our fault, like those things I quoted above, its nobodys fault but yours if you do those things so why should you blame/get annoyed/angry at anyone but yourself for those things?

like coming in here and calling corpse a douche out of the blue, was that really needed? surely there was a better way to get your point across?

now I'm not really getting up your for calling him a douche, hell I do much worse things all the time, but the fact that you rage at people so hard when they return the favour is what really gets to me.

"Pointless insight into lukes mind": I'm a simple person really, I can take and put up with alot of things as long as I can do them back or whatever, as soon as someone takes away the level playing field, or is being hypocritical, or gets angry when I do the same thing back to them or whatever, I get annoyed and start to think negativly of that person.

even though I realize there are many faults with the whole "an eye for an eye" mentality, its something I live by regardless /end pointless insight.

so as you can see scoot, we clash alot because of the above reasons.

but yeah, when you say things like "corspe your gonna get shown where its at" how else do you expect people to take this other then thinking that you think your gonna **** him?

so let me just say this rather blunt statement that should be erected in a giant stone tablet and placed somewhere for all to see: "if you dont want people to call you an idiot, dont say stupid things - Luke Atyeo, October 2009"

actually, that whole philosophy about getting what you're given is where it started with us luke, and thats the same mentality i have

just ftr and not to try and fight or anything, it started off with a some sort of snake sex joke in one of the sydney threads, luke and in that context i joked about how you overestimate yourself (***** joke), after that (for some reason) you took offense to it despite the fact it was a back and forward thing

scooter I have never really taken offense to anything you say, I just like to point out errors and stupid remarks, which is why I love this site because such things are in abundance here.

I think our mentatiliy (why are we even talking about this?) differs on 1 thing, it seems to me, that while you have that whole eye for an eye thing, you dont like putting it into play and would much prefer that everyone is nice to you and not have to go down that other path.

I, on the other hand dont get so easily worked up and have no problems going down that path as long as the other person can take what they give

and when I feel I have wronged someone I am not hesitant to admit it and openly appologize.

however having said all this (this post and my last one) I'd like to point out that its all hypothetical and I am in no way a psychologist or an analyst (wow how the **** do you spell that?)

I think 'Elimination Finals' is a good name, and is used in other places, off memory.

Losers finals is pretty widely used, I don't think we need to be babied and call it "Good Work Better Luck Next Time Finals". Besides it's losers finals because it's the finals of the losers bracket.

Fair enough - just my two cents is all, trying to make it G-rated :p Ignore me and my rambling... (Bring back these souls from purgatory!! RESURRECTION!!!!)

Anyway Luke and Scoot, you should continue your conversation through Private Message... It's only between you two, and should be kept that way and not in open discussion :p

Still noone has the full results for the last tournament_ /sigh_

Good to see people settle there disputes as adults and still have some humor about them_ Anyone who has played WoW will understand just how bad conversations can turn online and how quickly things can be misunderstood or wrongly interpreted_

For anyone interested i will have the interview from both Kas+Corpse up today_

Proxy told me this before my last match with Sam in GF's, didn't help me much :D

I just wanna say how cool it is that for the most part every one in Perth loves every one else. High 5 for sandgroper love guys!

Every toon link player lands with a dam arrow. Once he see's that the opponent notices that we then start to mix it up by instead of landing the arrow we quickly do another jump or grab them. Toon link is a hard character to read. You can watch as many videos as you want though somthing diffrent will hit you then what you expected it to be.

I'm going to go watch the last match that Vlade uploaded.

I can't wait for a retro fest if we have one.

NSMBWII
Goldeneye
Lylat Wars
Mk Double Dash <-- That game is so fun with 4 people. The most fun in the whole series.

So many good multiplayer games we could play.

I'll be running an F-Zero X/GX tournament if I possibly can, so come prepared :p

EDIT: At the retrofest, that is. Not at a Brawl tournament. (Unless people ask for it)

I just looked on ebay..Theres one...In the UK..Going for like 20 pounds with 10 pound postage..

I think getting one slightly out of the question, which makes me question...Why didn't Mario Kart Wii have lan play, I mean Wii's should be able to read each other. Anyway I guess thinking of the retrofest would be nice to have a location idea and an idea of the date (I beleive were still looking at September)

Personally I think December 20th may be good, or 19th-20th if we can get a place that we can stay over night with.

Would we have 2v2 or 1v1v1v1, is the real question? (or 2v2v2v2 or 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1)?
There was 8 karts per race, with 2 characters on each kart. You could do 2 people per kart for a max of 16 people playing.

Lan Mario kart double dash would be ****.

December 20th sounds good aswell. The idea of making two players use a kart is :/ Since it's more fun when you are driving and aiming at the same time.

But dam 16 players playing at once would still be fun.
