Ok i will make a intresting topic for all of us to discuss to make time fly and make the tourney come around quicker.

What do you want to gain from tourneys?

I want to gain social skills, enjoy myself, and try always come in a constant placing like how sam always comes first.

I want to have fun, which pretty much always happens thanks to Bob, Travis and others.

Have to agree with Ghnaschnakoff on that one...just hanging with friends and doing the best u can at one of your fav games. Why else would u have tourneys??? Looking forward to seeing everyone again (except nasch since he is being a RF noob - no Chinese for you!!)

Yeah we can team doubles. I've got Marth fever atm though so I can't promise anything. Though how much cash is second place doubles? ^_^

Proxy is the dark horse for 2nd in singles no doubt, and I have much faith in my brother from another mother going top 4 once again. If I finish top 8 going all Marth I will be satisfied.

I play tourneys because I'm a very naturally competitive person and always want to test my abilities in high pressure situations. Whether it's basketball, kick boxing, video games or dancin ^_^ I always wanna try and push myself and compete. Plus I love the 7 Namoi crew <3

Originally I came to see how well I'd do in it but after the first tournament I realised you were all pretty cool guys. I got to know a lot of you better at Bob's last tourney and Objection 2 since I didn't have my horde of friends with me and that gave me an opportunity to talk to you all. After that I didn't really care about how well I went in the tournament I just attended to have some fun, muck around with some good guys and play a game I enjoyed whilst doing so. I now consider you guys a second group of friends and always look forward to seeing you all at the tournaments/smashfests (house partys ) etc

I look forward to hosting more tournies when i get back, but it would be good if jason can host on the 19th to take away strain.

I have always come to tournies to improve, catch up with some cool guys and of course gain a reputation for myself since I take this game rather seriously =p

I'm imagining that I will come to tournies because I only know 2 other people (that I can stand being around ) that play Brawl decently (compared to me = not very high standard xD), and since I really like the game I figure that the only way to find more people to play Brawl is to join a group of people that already like/play the game... Therefore, not only would I have a variety of people to play against, I also get a variety of new people to socialise with It's a freakin' win-win (not including actual matches of course, in which case it'd probably be win-win-lose-lose-cry in a corner )

I am pumped and already warmed up for tommorow. Just going to go in training mode at some point and do alot of random things with toon link just to get warmed up. So i will just be in training mode doing random bairs and not hitting no one just to warm me up xD.

I got into Melee late with my (ex) friends and we gathered a copy of Brawl from America asap_ We really enjoyed it and played competitively amongst ourselves_ After finding out that there was a competitive scene for Brawl in the eastern states i decided to take it seriously_

The Gametraders tournament really helped me to define the scene and through meeting other people with similar interests, i decided that this was the place for me_ Through holding tournaments myself, i really enjoyed the community and competitiveness that came along with it_

To this day i still put the scene first as much as possible because not only can i be competitive against other like minded people, but it's somewhere i can relax and enjoy myself in the company of friends_ This is important to me and it's why i stick around_


Jupz if you and Kane go partners, you should go Olimar and he go Marth_ With your powers combined, you can become OLIMARTH!! Apparently it's an awsome team which i wouldn't mind trying out myself if i had the chance_

Since Marteh might not come and he usually brings awesome games with him like dance dance revolution so we should have either a low tier tourney or crew battles.

IMO crew battles like last time where you write the names on a piece of paper that was hell fun.

No, were having crew battles.

Just clear one thing up for me - a crew battle is a team thing, right??? Where you have like 5v5 in a specific order and then whoever wins from one team stays on to fight the next person from the losing team, and so on and so forth until no one is left on one team??? If so, are the winners from one round allowed to swap characters before the next fight?

Story on why I joined the scene..
In september of 2008 I was bored with versing family and friends since I owned them, so I went to a tournament of andre's, issue is I was in a mood and never really socialised apart from Andre and Dan (Who disappeared), then after a while I went to try again but kept getting sick or it was cancelled or whatever. Then talking to Josh (who improved) we decided we should try one, and we went, loved it and yeah.
