Alright, so, listen up.

Just deleted about 30 malformed/missing URLs from the first post. If your video was deleted, and you still have it online still, re-link it, because it wasn't working properly the first time around.

And to Mmac, none of your filefront videos are available anymore. I'll wait a little while before deleting them in case you can dig them up.

I also added [O] to indicate online matches.

If you're going to watch only a tiny bit of any of these, watch the first 10 seconds of match 3 against Olimar. =P Critique is appreciated, as always. In particular, I would really like to figure out how to fight Olimar more effectively. I lose match 2, so that might be a good place to start. =0

firefly: one thing: second marth video: 1:32: SMASH DI OUTTA THAT ****!!!! >.<

more notes to come on that/other vids momentarily.

biggest note: stop using double jump to egg throw on the ledge. Just use the natural boost that egg toss gives you, cause you're risking getting gimped every time you double jump like that.

Wait, you aren't using tapjump, are you?!?! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

The marth mu is all about punishing his bad spacing. Don't be afraid to run in there with an egg lay or upsmash or even dash attack if you see him messing up. I liked your dash attack for his second stock in game two, that stuff is exactly what I'm talking about. DA is perfect to hit people using badly spaced aerials, particularly marth f-airs since it won't hit you when you're dashing and he's in the air like that.

On yoshi's island: you too SOOOOOOO much damage trying to ground pound on the slope and missing. I don't think I need to say too much more, except don't rely on this so much in the match-up, it gets predictable.

Also, don't DR cancel every time you do it. Mix it up and keep him guessing.

I did like the normal DR stuff though, keep working on it and you'll gradually be able to add more options to it as you learn what works where. Scatz would be proud =D

more to come soon...

Yeah, I use tap jump. Turning it off completely ruins the flow of my moves. I know how much of a disadvantage it puts me at, but I can't bring myself to play without it. ]=

I don't have a Wii to practice DR and stuff on my own time, so I just mess around mid-match whenever I get the chance. =P That's really the reason why I'm spamming things like down-B cancels on Yoshi's Island, even though I know full well how predictable it is. =P In fact, if my vids from the other day were recorded, you'd see the exact same thing with DR from the ledge, and I got gimped at 0% by MK for doing it. I still didn't stop. XD I wouldn't be doing that in more serious matches though; it's just practice.

I have no excuses for that second Marth match. I was playing pretty poorly, and the reason it was so close it because he was getting anxious to get the final blow on me, so he became REALLY predictable. My DI/SDI is still pretty scrubby as well, so I do really need to work on that.

The idea of punishing Marth's mistakes is what I try to do, but I think I tend to stick to a more defensive method of doing so. I think I usually rush him more often when I'm going for the KO, which usually gets punished, so that kind of discourages me from using my offensive options as often. I'll definitely keep that in mind for next time though.

Dash attack KOs are so much fun. =3

Thanks guys. ^.^

*this isn't really directed at you so much as everyone here, firefly, so read, but don't take personally*

The mindset that you need to change styles of play to achieve different things is really annoying. If something works, stick with it. So what if he has the stock lead if you have 6 minutes left, you shouldn't stop camping just because of that. As long as you're still dealing damage and getting him closer to the KO, you're fine. Odds are that player is going to be stupid and approach you eventually even though he has the lead, and that's when you get the KO. Are you both at high % same stock? Keep camping! Make him change his strategy, not vice versa! Changing your mindset just because you feel you need to do something in a match right away is the scrub way of looking at things.

That's my rant of the day, lol.

So thanks again for the Marth tips (lolpun?) you guys, but I would still really love some input about those Olimar matches. I feel really scrubby when I fight Olimar, and I want to fix that. D=<

I have no olimar exp, so I'd only be able to give general play tips. I'll watch them tomorrow, though =)

Scatz, the major thing I seemed to notice is that, though you did manage to trip him up a lot, you didn't always capitalize on that trip, sometimes just standing there when you could have gotten an attack or even a grab in.

Yeah, unfortunately, I haven't gotten the feeling of using the nanners correctly and punishing with them effectively. Not only that, but taking about a 4-5 week break threw my come out of sync horribly (I was being 2 stocked constantly when we started playing). I'm gonna have to practice at least 5 mins a week or something to keep my skills from going out of sync again.

Actually, when do you mean I could've capitalized? I just re-watched it and the times I didn't get to punish was when I jabbed (which was a lot), messed up a hypen Usmash (the only one iirc at the end), and when I threw it own, but was too high to do anything. I know some of the decisions I did could've been grabbing for the CG damage (lol too many Usmashes), but I did grab there due to the platforms and the normal position I was initially at to get any decent damage in.

Indigestible wad, where exactly do you get your choice of background music?

EDIT: Vapor, Yoshi's standing grab is slow.
