Yawn much? Jeez guys its a list of names. If you think its wrong then make your own somewhere else. We trust these guys with our PR but then just argue it when its released. If the PR said Surgi 1st (^^) then obviously its wrong. If Dekar can consistantly defeat CAO, whether trying or no, then he deserves top spot. That being said, if Dekar cannot consistantly take the cake then the rankings shouldn't change. Moving up or down in the list should be difficult and positions should be more fixed untill one of the players has shown *significantly* different results. Not 2 wins in minor tournaments no matter how convincing. Also I don't think you can include CAO in a PR that he doesn't want to be featured in. No means no guys.
Edit: I am not saying Dekar (<3) isn't top dog in Melbourne, nor am i saying that he is but the PR shouldn't change so whimsically.

I think everyone should stop thinking about the Power Rankings and start thinking of a way to get this over to Australia.

Shaya gets it. I'm definitely not interested in playing the game of "x would be better than y if he tried in z". Results speak for themselves, the real question with Dekar vs. CAO is how we weight Dekar's superior recent local results against CAO's older but more significant major results and interstate history.
Despite being on the panel now I'm still not convinced there's any point for having power rankings at all. It's just four guys' opinion of who is the best, and how much you value the PR is just a matter of how much you respect their opinion. Obviously everyone feels they can form their own opinion on the matter, and I doubt anyone's going to care about our opinion more just because it's got an official thread, so who is the PR serving?
I think the best rankings are results or strictly based on results - they reward winning, as a competitive scene should, not "what-ifs". Major results speak for themselves, and maybe we should go back to counting seasonal ranbat points for our monthlies as a way to give more significance to them for those who care enough to try (and those who don't care, such as KO, can happily ignore them).

Yeah, and I don't respect responses such as this from a panelist. That seals it, the image is removed until a new one replaces it.
Also, yes, it is very ironic the founder of the regional power ranking is now one of its biggest opponents. I've seen the arguments PRs can create.

It suggests to me I had no problem with the preceding list. Not treating this as an attack of any kind Luke, you're cool with me. And Dekar, I'm not at all convinced you still are taking into all considerations the full criteria, so I'm going to leave it at that.

so what it boils down to is that you dont accept dekar being above you, and thus have decided to remove yourself from the list in order too ostracize the list?
Luke - I know my place respective to everyone else in the scene, imo, better than the others. To be honest, if I think I deserve 2nd then that's what I deserve, but I am in a disagreeance with the outcomes of this new list and how they decided upon it.
