It is extremely important that everyone with in the community and the boards itself read this post. Please make it a top priority to do so.

It saddens me deeply to announce that on May 25th 2010 Bryan J "Kantō" Puccia passed away.

While swimming at the beach, he suffered from a heart attack. Unfortunately, because he couldn't be reached in time to be helped, this caused him to drown. I am unaware of rather it was the heart attack or him drowning that caused the death.

This is an extremely depressing situation for not only myself, but for anyone who was close to or even had the chance to meet or talk to Bryan.

Al "P Diddy," Frannie, and I ask that everyone be as respectful as you can to everyone that was hurt from this loss.

Bryan's wake is from 3-7 pm tomorrow (May 28, 2010). If anyone is interested in attending, please contact me for information regarding where it's located.

803-603-8324

We appreciate your respect and sympathy.
Reposted for the top of the page.

He was a good man and will be missed dearly by many.

Once again, I will be taking anyone with me that is near Rochester and desires to attend. im already bringing angel

EDIT
I think im going to be leaving my house around noon, itll take about a half hour to get angel and another half hour to get to you.

Kanto was the first person I met when I came into the smash community. I went over to his house to play, and he was really nice to me even though I knew nothing about the game. He really made me feel welcomed into the community, and to the syracuse smash scene in general. He did a lot for our community, and was a nice person to be around in general.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the wake due to circumstances I would not like to discuss.

My complete respect and wishes go to bryan and his family and all his close friends.

Wow. I don't know what to say. I only had the opportunity to meet Bry once, but even in such a short time it was obvious what a fun-loving, friendly, and all-around decent person he was. I regret that I didn't take advantage of the chance to get to know him better. RIP Bry, you will be missed.

I think we should hold a tournament to honor his memory. I don't know how much good it would do, but I can't think of a better way to bring people together in order to remember such a great human that we all cared about dearly.

R.I.P. Bryan. It was an honor playing him last week for the first time at the Smash Fest. I didn't get to know him that well, but I know he was a significant part of the Smash Community and our region. He will live on through our hearts, and our memories of him will keep the community strong. Matt, Bryan's family, and the community as a whole all have my best wishes. Stay strong everyone.

I agree with Steffon. Perhaps dedicating Syracuse Smash 3 to his memory? Or taking a portion of the pot and making a donation in his name?

Seconded. I think Bry would be deeply flattered.

And Goggles, this is a great favor to ask of you. I'll have to cut work, but I don't think that's going to be too much of a problem. If you could shoot me a text when you're in the area, let me know. I live on Main Street, now, so picking me up shouldn't be difficult.

Man it's really hard to see such a nice guy go. I always admired his attitude about the game and community.

excatly how i feel.

i think the harder i try the harder it gets for me to win. just play the game and have fun. thats what all of this is about, not the PR, not money, not fame ( yea right) . its about making friends and chillin with each other playing smash or any game for that matter.

wheres the love people?:chuckle::chuckle::chuckle:

Such an amazing post.

Where's the love? With you my friend. You had the greatest smile and laugh of anyone at the tournaments. My tears finally came, and I can't believe how much I'm going to miss you.

I'm not sure how to help on that one =/

when you talk to matt/frannie, if they aren't sure where to pick you up at, (you are taking a greyhound/adirondack trailways bus or at least getting off at the regional transportation center in syracuse, I assume?) let them know that the station is right next to carousel mall, they should be able to find it from there.

wait a sec, I'm most likely riding with them, why did I need to say all of that? lol =/

Since I won't be able to make it to the wake tomorrow I just wanted to share some of my good memories I had with Bry and maybe the rest of you could do the same.

Playing pokemon with bry and talking about it. I remember all the hype me and him had for the new games. He was a soul silver guy me a heart gold. We traded some pokemon over wifi he gave me my scorupi. =P
Talking about smash to and from all the rochester tournies. I learned a lot of things just talking to him while I was driving.
Syracuse Smash 2. Probably one of the most epic events in recent history. lol @ the train of cars
All the hype surrounding the Sharky vs Kanto matches. xD I remember Bry would get so angry when he had to face Sharky.

Sorry I can't make it to the wake tomorrow guys, wish I could be there.

This is so sad =[

A friend to everyone, and an amazing tournament host who extended his best to all of us.

Can't put all my feelings into words :(

All these events are a lot to take in. He really was a nice guy. Even though he had his own crap to take care of, he still spend a lot of time and effort for the community and stayed positive. R.I.P ;_;
