Unless only like a few people are showing up, then it would be better to push it until Saturday or make it a two day event.

This event is on short notice, on a weekday, and at night.

why would it be on friday -___- idk if people like snakeee, cura, san would come on friday (seeing they have to travel to get there that takes time)

Cura and snakeee are gonna be riding with me friday, I dunno about san though.

Personally I'd prefer it be on saturday cause starting at 8 doesn't leave a whole lot of time, but I'm down for whatever as long as there's smash in my weekend :p
getting as many people as possible is the most important thing imo

You shouldn't really aim to run a tournament on a Friday unless it's a 3-day or 2-day. Especially if it's short notice. :)

I don't think his aim originally was necessarily a tournament. They have a smash club that meets friday nights, I think he was just trying to get some extra people to show up and play till the wee hours in the morning.

Tourneys are better though XD

And sheth $2 MM? :D

-Haha, there's no way we can get space on campus on saturday, it's like an open campus day with the biggest event they do all year all day. TOTALLY slipped my mind, but getting more than a double room in the basement of the campus center (and using the tables down there, perhaps) is probably the best we can manage. We're TREMENDOUSLY ****ed trying to meet this weekend.

That said, should we just aim for the friday night casual shenanigans, despite the asspain it will be for people out of area?

whoah whoah whoah when did everyone hop on the friday bandwagon??? I work friday night til 9 so I definitely CANNOT do friday. If acton is driving up early saturday I'm down I guess, gas fee-depending. We need something at Jesse's house!

also, everyone going to columbus: we need to start talking hotel setups sometime soon.

Nitro: look up matt soukup on facebook, I'm the one with the mask that should say either RIT or OCC for the network, I forget which

As for columbus i am not attending because i have schedules SAT Testin on June 5th. So imma be doing that. As far as this weekend goes. Im down for anything even if its just a smash fest at rit. With a mini tournament (Maybe even a brawl + tournament) As long as **** goes down. But im down for watever

Quick update:
I have gotten verification there is zero, ABSOLUTELY, 100% Zero, space I can grab this saturday, which was kind of as expected. Now, there's spaces that aren't directly used by this event in the dorms, where I do *not* live, but can access. But, I don't believe I'm explicitly allowed to use them for this kind of purpose, either; so, Friday is easily done, but saturday would be a chance-based game of space-grabbing shenanigans that could result in being kicked out of places and BAD END (but not really bad, since you can't explicitly determine who decided to gather at any location for a given purpose.)

What do you all care to try?

Id rather not do it at jesses, and I know of a few others that probably feel the same.

the place that slashy keeps bringing up, how much would that actually cost? cus with the ammount of people showing up, it seems like 2-3 bucks a person would cover it.

RITcheis is $10/hr. They have 5 CRTs we can use, and even a cube+Melee. If our reservation time runs out, they jsut allow others to start reserving their resources.

also, i'd like to do the tournament next saturday in that lounge where EGS pushed everyone into. i'll need to check for any big RIT events first, but i think it will work.

That said, it's probably just not going to happen this week. After some thought, I'd rather not try anything too whacky, and I'm just not keen on Ritchie's.

If people still come friday, that's cool. Get some good friendlies, some MMs in.

There aren't just lobby's you can occupy in any dormatory? In oswego we just set up shop wherever. Who is really going to stop you?
