I'm bored... let's do a forum game...

If you were a Smash character, how would you play?


Assuming I have no sense of patience, my playstyle would probably be getting right to the point, and up close and personal...

I also have a tendency to post a lot of stupid jokes on here, so I'd also probably be pretty trolly.

Huh...

I'd be a character who prefers to play defense and use my opponent's weakness against them.

But at the same time, have a projectile that allows me to approach a little easier.

And yet they tried to make one. The Universe 11 GoD and supreme kai were definitely painted as "bad guys" in their mannerisms and language. And Jiren himself was the primary antagonist alongside Toppo. No other universe ever poses a legitimate threat to our heroes outside of Kefla-- and we all knew that Kefla wasn't going to beat Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and Frieza.

The fact that this was a battle royale tournament was purely fluff to get more characters involved. But that's a good setup, though, since finally Dragonball found a way to get away from a series of one-on-one death matches with a bunch of underpowered characters sitting idly by. But the setup was still the same as any other DB arc: There's a really powerful villain with underlings and the Z fighters have to band together, grow stronger and wait for Goku to defeat him. The problem with Jiren is that his motivation is the same as anyone else-- win the tournament-- and his backstory is shoved in through an unnecessary flashback to a generic sad kid story.

...Come to think of it, we never did find out what Jiren's wish was...

Um... huh. Well. I actually have a whole journal on my DeviantART describing my answer to this question.

Long story short, I'm good at dealing damage and being a pest, and I employ a lot of unconventional tactics, but I stink at actually killing.

I get to just stand there, menacingly. And calculate every single trajectory for my bomb tricks. Also expect brutal Spin Attack punishes.

The sound design in the game and how they make sure you're aware of Mr. X's presence at virtually all times after you find him is wonderful.

As I attend to avoid Conflict and prefer to settle things with Words instead of Violence I think I would be a bait and punish/Zoner character. I just have a gut feeling I would probably be a character like that.

The more I think about it, Smeargle would have some potential as a fighter...
All of his specials are sketch, which will copy the opponent's move, depending on which direction the special was performed...
Just ignore the fact that it'd be a pain to develop

Have any of you actually taken damage from one of the dogs? Like, at all? I swear not a single one actually bit me as I ran through them. I'm starting to think they're designed to be an aesthetic scare but not a legitimate threat.

I would be extremley fast, stylish, emotive, and hard hitting. I'd have great air game (smash has no water sections so I guess that's how I work in swimming), and I'd have the emotion gimmick from Super Princess Peach, only I can't control it.

So yeah it's supposed to reach -40 degrees with the windchill here Wednesday. That means you can get frostbite in less than 15 minutes of exposure. I'm at college, which means we have to walk to our classes, which some have as early as 7:30 in the morning. So, what has my university said on the matter?

...nothing.

There's actually a petition being thrown around my university with like 35 hundred signatures petitioning to close school Wednesday. Not sure why the university would want to stay open if there's a chance for major injury just by being outside, but if classes aren't cancelled, I'm in for quite the day.

we really don't know how much training actually affects the androids. 18 gave it up to become a mom so 17 training for 12 years straight could have given him a significant power boost. Hell, Frieza was on SSB level after only 4 months of training.

Frieza is kind of nonsense too but it is at least explainable through the fact that he never actually trained before so he made leaps and bounds of improvement.
Though honestly even if 17 was training constantly Im not sure that would actually amount to that huge of a power boost. For instance what type of training you do vastly effects how much you can improve so Goku fighting a literal god on a daily basis vs 17 fighting fairly weak poachers wouldn't have the same outcomes.
Also tmk part of how strength develops is your muscles tiring out and stretching and getting damaged to a point, when it heals tmk it generally makes your muscles more resilient and thus stronger. The fact that androids don't tire would likely work against them gaining strength as their muscles need to get worked to exhaustion basically and also need rest to heal and improve. Both of which they would lack tmk.

Frieza's is silly but explainable to a degree but 17 has both the muscle thing and the fact that his opponents are on a much lower level than the opponents the main group would face working against him having that much power.
