  • One of the meds I take for my anxiety and is in a nationwide shortage and I’m already feeling the affects of not taking it. My serotonin is not where it is supposed to be and I feel like I could burst into tears at the drop of hat and in just a doom and gloom state overall.

I don’t have thoughts of harming myself which is good but I can’t shake this down feeling. I wish people were able to keep up with the demand for those who need their medication.

Completely empathize. I stopped taking antidepressants and anxiety medication towards the end of the last year, and it was rough beyond expectations for the first few weeks. There's no cookie cutter "It will get better" that will eventually start making you believe it, but bearing down on yourself harder won't solve anything either.

I found it does at least help knowing you aren't alone, if only slightly. One can't know patience better than being at its mercy.

I hope the shortage ends soon. I've never had meds of that kind, but I assume I really need them since I've been progressively depressed and anxious for the last months. I'm going to see a psychologist soon and hope it works for me so I don't have to take meds.

    Good luck fam

I developed seasonal anxiety last winter and it got horrible at some points. I'm not taking any meds for it because I don't really need them, but I do talk to the psychologist at my school. This winter, my anxiety isn't as bad thankfully. I had muscle spasms, chest pains, shortness of breath, panic attacks, and more. I hated it, but I learned to manage it with meditation.
Making friends with people is tough.

Easiest way to do it is just try and spark up conversations with people more, find some common interests, and just general "putting yourself out there" type stuff. It ain't easy for an introvert or just someone with a general lack of social skills (referring to myself btw) but hey, you can't win if you don't try. I've found some decent success just by buying more graphic tees with subject matter that I'm into, it's an easy conversation starter and it's quite easy to nerd out with someone on a shared topic of interest so I'd recommend that to start.

Yeah trying to start up conversations can be trick for me sometimes. I also worry too much that I’m being annoying and overthink things a lot which also makes things difficult and even stressful.

    Well you are my friend.
To answer that question you asked me yesterday, I'm not sure it matters how I hold my pencil or pen. For some reason, it just happens when I write for extended periods of time. Unfortunately, taking tests actually are a pain now.

Yeah same happens to me despite how I hold my pencils as well. Hand cramps are no fun but best of luck on the tests. You can do it!
Finally gave in and got the Switch Online subscription. Feel free to add me if you want to play online.

I go by Mew2Chainz rather than my SmashBoards username on my Switch.
