Campaigning for a character is a good for making fans' voices heard and bring attention to a well-liked character with potential that Sakurai and Nintendo may not pay much attention to otherwise.

I don't think Ridley or K. Rool would be here if it weren't for all their avid, vocal fans and the years they spent voicing their strong support for them however they possibly could.

As long as people don't put their expectations too high and go bashing Sakurai and the devs over not putting their personal desires in the game, I don't see any problem with campaigning for a character you want to see playable.

It doesn't have to top Ultimate. It just needs to be good. Besides, Smash games are more than their rosters, and at some point, constant re-packaging of one game will draw lots of criticism and likely cease to be mechanically plausible. I feel a "downgrade" in roster size is inevitable, but if that game is executed and presented well enough, many complaints might be mitigated.

I'd rather it end at Ultimate and simply keep porting it. That's personally just me though.

thinking it'll end or only be ported is a really really dumb concept

it sells like hotcakes, unless you're itoi and/or the sole provider for the series (sakurai definitely isn't, the man went freelance from nintendo over a decade ago), it'll never die, and there's no reason to suggest that they'll only port ultimate for the next gajillion years.

if you can't get the license to everything again, which costs a big buttload of licensing fees, you can't port ultimate no matter how hard you try even without one tiny aspect.

thinking its gonna get reboot is also ****ing stupid. why? these games are taking at least 2 years now, and the only thing doing so would accomplish is cutting that time by half the amount

I wouldn't be so sure.

Any character can be cut for any reason. It's gonna be a while before we have to worry about cuts though, so don't stress.

tbh the only one of my most wanted characters that is even likely in the slightest at this point is Steve

Everyone else needs very particular set of circumstances to occur if they were to have a fair shot

That being said, I still campaign them all for the fun of it, and to spread awareness of these characters and their fantastic games.

I wouldn't be so sure.

Any character can be cut for any reason. It's gonna be a while before we have to worry about cuts though, so don't stress.

Fair enough though I still see it likely with him returning granted that's my own bias talking.

What would make up for it is beginning to appear in future games again like DK games and Mario spin-offs which I'm certain he will due to being brought back and made popular again since Smash has a reputation of doing that with certain characters likeand.

2013 me was a painfully naive and immature ****poster who only occasionally made good points during debates and also occasionally came up with good ideas for fun.

For the most part though I was just cracking jokes (some that made people laugh, others that were...really poor, honestly), posting reaction images and videos, and all around just saying stupid or immature things, often exaggerating how I really felt.

I still have insecurities now but I'm glad I'm not like that anymore. I can't look back at 2013 and early 2014 me without wincing or cringing. Heck even a fair number of my posts from 2015 are ones I'm not exactly proud of.

Pretty much. I think if you want to let your voice be heard, you should definitely throw out your opinions and support your characters publicly. Just don't be a **** about it to other people, the dev team especially. It's fine to have salt, but keep it in check, that's all.

Should Chrom (and a couple of others but those guys are locks anyway) return, I'll buy it.
Should Chrom get cut I'll continue playing Ultimate and save sixty bucks, because that's a legit downgrade.

The newcomers are my favorite part of the speculation cycle. Then again maybe I'm biased because Shulk probably won't get cut being the "Marth" of Xenoblade and Link isn't gonna get cut either due to being, well, ****ing Link

No. I just don't like the idea.

I'm sure Poochy would have a wonderful moveset, but he is the epitome of either scraping the bottom of the barrel or shameless promotion, and I'm not really for either of those, especially when there are choices within both categories that accomplish more.

Im pretty sure half of the fandom has given up hope on him showing up. Hell, even me, biggest Prof Layton fan, has given up hope

The only character I need to return in the Next Smash is my dude King Dedede if he's cut I will freak out.

I would also want Wolf and Lucina to return but they aren't essential for me like Dedede is.
