Ultimate earned it's name with it's cast of characters, plenty of big name, and some particular fan favorites people have been waiting to play as in Smash for decades by the time the game came out. I was satisfied with the base roster, but hey, the more, the merrier.

I myself would be satisfied if Tetra ever became DLC for Ultimate. I probably wouldn't ask for any more characters if that happened, and my desire for others wouldn't as strong. She's my most wanted who still isn't in, so of course I'd be more than content if she did get in.

It's probably future proofing, I wouldn't get your hopes up. It'd be nice if we got 15 DLC fighters though.

Even if they aren't my most wanted, I hope the the DLC characters will be cool and/or iconic. Personally, having most of them be from RPGs wouldn't do much for me, compared to Platformer, Action or Fighting game characters, though I'm sure others disagree and that's cool I guess.

Still mostly shilling for Mega Man X, Ryu Hayabusa and a Tekken character in particular.

Rember when Smash 4 had the best roster of every Smash game?

I always thought Brawl had a better roster than Pre-DLC Smash 4, amd that's solely because some of the most fun characters got cut and replaced not as fun characters. It also didn't help that I barely cared for any of the characters aside from Villy, Mega Man, Bowser Jr, Pac-Man, and to a lesser degree, Rosalina, and out of all of these, Villy was the only one I truly wanted.

I'm doubting we'll get a second fighter pass if only because of how large the base roster of the game is. Though I'd like to be wrong. If the Square rep isn't Lara Croft, then I honestly wouldn't care much myself. But I'd be happy for other people of the Sora/Geno Dream is no longer a meme.

The thing is, we don't know yet. Some of the characters in the pass could very well be some highly requested ones. I feel like it's jumping the gun a bit early to assume that none of the characters will be worthwhile, and as such we should already be asking for season 2. I'd say the best thing to do is wait until we see all or most of the characters before we start asking for more.

But no one's doing that (well, not reasonably anyways)

I'm saying it's a matter of inevitability that some people will get what they want and some people won't, and thus, people will always be asking for more. Saying "There's X amount of characters" misses the point that people don't care about the x amount and care about what's in the x amount. At the peak of USF4's roster-size, it had a ginormous 44 character roster, but still people wanted their old favorites like Alex and Urien and Q and... Skullomania or whatever.

For me Smash 4 was real clean because of Mega Man, Pac-Man, Rosalina and Little Mac. It only sucked losing Wolf and having Dark Pit over Dark Samus.

Honestly I made peace with all of my most wanted characters a long time ago. There's a reason you don't here me talk about them much. I've come to accept that even characters I want that seem realistic still aren't particularly likely just from the sheer amount of competition they face.

It's actually really nice not stressing over who gets in or not. It's not that I have zero hope, it's just that I'm fully prepared for the reality that most of those hopes won't come true.

I don't know if another Mega Man protagonist, like MMX or Geo would count, in the grand scheme of things only Geo could count as a fairly obscure Mega Man, so I'll say Weavil from Metroid would be an obscure weirdo I'd want.
