Besides Sans, who i'll be the first to say probably isn't getting in, there's no one left for me to "campaign" for. It's kinda liberating.

About Obligations and who I campaign for that would be Isaac, Geno, Banjo and Duster but I'll fully admit I can't see any of them getting in for the Fighters pass, except for MAYBE Banjo.

And in terms of Duster He's never getting in despite me wanting him. They'd have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for Duster, He's not very important and he's from a Japan-Exclusive game.

Same. Campaigning for a character is a good way to get too emotionally invested in one outcome. I think just kinda wanting/hoping for a character is enough for me.

Honestly one more thing to add to this, The closest and most meaningful thing I could get in terms of Duster is a remix of his theme and a Mii Costume, I doubt a playable Character.

Honestly, unless a character I want is Erdrick tier almost confirmed, I probably won't go nuts again. Sure i'll have my wishes, but i'll keep it contained.

I thought if the Grinch was fake we would at minimum get more than the Box Theory suggested but nope.

I can't believe Geno and Isaac ****ing died.

Heck they could probably cut Charizard from the next game and I would still be okay. I may embrace the crazy loyalist persona sometimes but if something did happen to Zard I know there'd still be someone else in the roster for me.

Of course that's the only way they could get me to stop maining Zard. If even Smash 4's fun as heck Mewtwo failed to shake my loyalty I can't imagine what other character could.

I really don't think we're getting 14 more characters. I predict 10 AT MOST (The rest of Season 1, Season 2, and a bonus ballot character). I'll work with that.

Whether the Grinch was right, or Verg was right, we'd be having one of our most wanted characters, either way. If the Grinch was real, I got Chorus Kids, and you got Geno. If Verg was right, we both still got Incineroar. It was a win-win, either way, and I'm still shocked that it happened that way for us

Seriously even if we get two Seasons which is Unlikely within itself the Roster will be sliced in half anyways.

Elma is literally the only character I have left who's alive and even then she's no Erdrick lmfao

If she gets in though I will be ecstatic beyond belief

Pretty much this. Any more and we're reaching Infinite levels of roster size. Infinite is a fan mod with 100 characters btw.

I'm pretty sure the guys who developed Infinite are sweating already seeing as an official Smash Bros. game has 4/5 the roster size.

Have it be more competitive (Project M levels) and overhaul movesets and there's the appeal right there.

Here's my thing about it.

Will the next game have a third of the characters? Yes. But Ultimate will still be there! Whenever you want to go back to having every smash character ever you can just pop it in, and when you're ready for something new the next game will be there.

Ultimate won't disappear because a new Smash released. That's just how I feel, at least.

I think it's more that people expect it and don't want to get their hopes up rather than being appealed by half of the roster being cut.

A third of the roster + a huge actual story mode and some really neat competetive changes would be decently sick

It wouldn't be an Ultimate but Smash isn't just staring at the CSS

Even if they just continue adding characters eventually the series is going to get stale. There's only so many characters you can add before it becomes too much.

The only way I'd agree to this is if they keep porting Ultimate but also release a more competitive, more-like a-traditional-fighting-game version of Smash Bros. alongside it to keep the series fresh.

Or Nintendo vs. Capcom. That'd be cool too.

1) Higher likelihood of more newcomers
2) More radical gameplay changes
3) Aesthetic differences

Because remember, Smash isn't a ****ing museum.
It's a game that people want to play, and trust me, nobody wants to play the same game for 20 goddamn years.
(Unless it's like Melee)
