the thing is, its just like no one even cares about him. It seemed like amsah wasnt really trying in the set against him, and its not like hbox will get much respect for getting second. Hell, mango wont even get much respect for winning because he had to lame hbox back to win...

GFs should be hyped, but there was nothing even hmw could do to keep me interested in the match

Ive been involved with melee since the beginning of competitive play and it astounds me that such a large tournament can finish in jiggs v jiggs. This is a character that not too long ago was wrote off. It just shows how balanced and how progressive the melee metagame is. If I was still seeing sheik everywhere like there was for so long I would have no interest in this game at all. Just be greatful things change

ps amsah just didn't know how to contend with a jiggs of that calibre. Seems, outside of armad's peach, european char selection is behind the US/narrow.

Whilst the metagame has become pretty ****ed campy lately (spamming back-airs, lasers, whatever), it's only a matter of time before it shifts again - zhu destroyed hbox in their first game, and I hear m2k almost had him too... Perhaps people are learning that spammed backairs aren't really that broken?

I've just been looking through some of the garbage that people have been posting about the GF's on the other US dominated threads. I think everyone should see what Mr Kone has written here, it's excellent.

I have no idea who it will be...but I doubt Falco. I believe we could see a revival of Marth, a proliferation of Ganon's and maybe a few Samus's.

heyyy there levi!!. Cornwall I think isn't particularly close to many other smashers at the moment unfortunately. Bristols Link lives in Bristol as well as LJ (in university hollidays) which would probably be the nearest for you. Vanity Angel lives in Devon but in university hollidays as well. I live in southampton which is prob quite far for you to travel.

If you check this thread occasionally you might find a smashfest that you can come to

Tbh i was really impressed with the falcons at the tourney, i knew they were good to watch but I didnt expecct them to actually place highly. Maybe if a few more top players take up falcon he will become the top, i mean his match-up vs jiggs isnt too bad

Falcon will never be top.

I personally think that it will be a Falco player next or maybe a Marth but never a Falcon.

it can never be falco or falcon. Falco is like falcon with happy feet, gun and shine. Falcon trades all that in for knee.

Other than that, they both have **** recovery and die as soon as they go off. Jiggz is so strong because she is ungimpable, yes that is a word. There is nothing you can do about her recovering, peach is pretty similar. Unless you know the float out of peach, she will make it back safely. You can't even do that to jiggz. She's so unpunishable with her metagame at the moment, lets hope another character develops a really gay style, beats her then everyone stops playing the gay characters.

I reckon a revival in Marth is on its way - good match-up against puff, ***** falco if you know what to do (look at HBK), and as long as he spaces properly he's almost impossible to play against. And since M2K has gone on record claiming that falco and jiggz are the best characters, Marth's looking pretty...

I never really thought the falcon jiggz match-up was that great for the captain, I enjoy playing that one as the obnoxious little puff ball... Might just be personal preference though I guess.

Also, NTSC is laaaaaame! The only thing that's better about it is the box tag! Bring back japanese characters!

Falco does not equate to Falcon at all.

And yes it def could be a falco despite his weakness of being gimped. In the past it could never be a Jiggs cos she would die at low percentages but obviously Jiggs still won with this flaw, falco can do the same. Falcos have been performing pretty good, anyway you will see anyway.

Funny enough I don't think i've seen any matches of HBK lol....could someone link me with this supposable new star.

Falco def has the potential, despite what the matchup chart dictates, falco is a ***** for jiggs to play against, cos those lasers prohibit a lot of jigg's horizontal prowess and his arial 'priority' is hard for a jiggs to deal with.
Falco has the best on stage play imo, falco's just need to stay on stage
they'll learn eventually

Yeah I think Zhu would have lost but not cos he is playing Falco, just because I believe he would of got outplayed by better players.
But when you see someone like Mango play falco you can see the potential of falco cos he falco literally ***** and he works with the flaws you said....he even though Falco has flaws which are obvious he also has ALOT of advantages which is why he is my personal candidate for being on top.

And yeah I agree with the Mew2king thing cos he did say that a while back lol.

Frankly it can only be a good thing if the top characters has flaws - no-one wants to see a game in which one character is clearly far better than all the others, with maybe one or two others just about viable *ahem* Brawl *ahem*

I agree that falco absolutely *****, like I said in some match ups, it's almost unwinnable for the other character. I actually think he kind of ***** fox....most of the time.

I believe that his weakness is too much, and not able to be overcome. So we disagree on that.

Let's see what 2010 does to change our minds. M2k does in fact john about match ups, like a scrub...
