Sai is pretty good. You should probably Add Armada as well. Even though he quit/doesn't enter melee anymore he just won a PM tournament recently with pit so he's still going strong.

Edit: as for JC vs Oracle....I think JC is a more experienced ROB player at this point having played a good amount of players from different regions were as Oracle has only played the same players. However, I believe he's overall slightly better....so...it could go either way but I don't really wish to see Rob dittos ever.

As for the Sethlon thing. I think he's the smartest/overall most talented player in the region. He's wins with Sonic, Ike, Marth....I mean...I am not sure he's the best Pure sonic because it seems....no matter who he plays he's going to get first. Wouldn't shock me if he won with Falcon next time. Wiz is new and somewhat unknown but he's got a much deeper understanding of the game(s). He's good in 64-melee-brawl and in his first melee tournament of Apex's Size he made it to bracket. Not something alot of talented and experienced players can say. Not even Sethlon(roy johns though).

Not implying anything...but you should do some in depth research before. That's everyone posting on this subject.

This is a touchy topic, I'v seen Awestin play, and I don't mean anything hostile, but while watching I just see many things he could/should have done, instead of the stuff he was doing (a lot of SH aerials). But even with this said, he still did get into GF against Sethlon, so he's still a good player.

Imo, SinisterB or myself have explored options/combos and such the most, but Awestin seems to have gotten the furthest in an actual tournament situation (sorry SinisterB, I haven't seen your Ness in tourny yet, if you have been in ones.)

awestin's case is funny in that he just says "**** all that fancy ****. ima just go in there and ness you up."

he's really primarily a solid fundamentals player, because there is a small amount of inherent risk to using ness tricksies (if you lose your double jump to something while trying to djc stuff, you're kinda screwed on recovery reeeeeeeeeeeal hard).

In fact all of the matches on Syun's channel seem to be decidedly average players. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but isn't this list supposed to be like top of the top? I don't think there is really a "top" player for a lot of these characters and some names are just being tossed on because there HAS to be one.

I think this is why a lot of people are bad at smash. Being good isn't about being flashy. You need to have technical precision with your character to be sure because you need to be able to do what you want when you want, but assuming someone isn't at the level of others because they don't play as fast is kind of absurd. The region Awestin plays in has shown to be VERY strong, Denti/Sethlon/Oracle have all done exceptionally well when travelling out of texas(and they are the only ones who have travelled). Awestin I believe is one of the only people to have taken a set from Sethlon in tournament(Sethlon has won every tournament he's entered in PM, including when he traveled to chicago and played against many other players on this list). You can gauge how good he is just from how he does against the other great players there.

I do understand that just doing flashy stuff wont make you good. I didn't mean to sound like I'm saying "He doesn't do flashy stuff, so hes not as good", I was meaning there are things he could be doing instead that would have been both safer and give a better advantage in the matches.

What if some of the people in the list are just good players, they would do well with most characters, its just how they understand and play that makes them win? are these people still the best of the best for any given character?

As I said before, i'm being pretty liberal with the names on the list atm as there is a bigger purpose.
I'm making a thread which will include vids of people who represent characters really well in an attempt to progress the PMBR scene, so even if the name is on the list atm, doesn't mean that when the thread gets made they will have vids on there.

And when I do make the thread, there will be no 'HAS TO FILL THE SPOT' if there aren't any good vids, it will just be left blanked until videos come.

Also I agree with you, he seemed pretty average : /, no offense but I think I could do a better job representing ZSS (not that im planning on doing it) but still keep the vids coming guys

K9 - I'm biased. I'm not impressed on you beating anyone but Wobbles. Just know that I don't care if you beat Brawl players in AZ (though Nazo's getting there). Beat Silly Kyle and then you'll make some noise.

@Umbreon - It's a pain to average the lists I have, and I think people have only made a couple of minor edits with no new lists since the last time I averaged them.

As for the player list, I would possibly consider Fly a top player of Pit, though he mainly uses Pit in doubles...that is...if it's doubles, always...if it's singles, D3 usually, Pit rarely (tournament speculation of course).

I'd consider Wobbles for Mario if he went to more tournies (Idk who he plays in friendlies).

I'd consider Silly Kyle for Peach as well, but I haven't seen any recent placings.

I think the NorCal tournament for CGC games may show some results for Project M. Since it's the same weekend as NorCal Regionals, so hopefully a lot of players go to both.
