I tried asking for a ride like 3 days in a row and go nothing.
Its ****ing LA you cant tell me there wasn't at least one person who went to that tournament that wasn't close enough to lend me a ride, I even offered gas money.
I'm a little disappointed, all the other smash communities I've been to have always been eager to help new/visiting players get to tournaments :/.


No such thing as west coast hospitality I guess.

Edit: Tournament Results have been updated. August 2010 to Present Tournament videos will be updated soon and will be placed under their respective results.

Red is the default for all gamer tags in the opening post. If you would like a different color please let me know and I will change it.

Here are some questions regarding some information that is either missing or wasn't clear to me in some of the results.

1. Riot who did Teevee use at KTAR 6?
2. Ed the payout of the Play N Trade Tampa does not look like a standard tournament payout of 70/20/10 or 60/30/10. Also given the number of 61 entrants I'm surprised that you only made 50 dollars. Would you mind explaining who handled the payout and was it store credit or cash?
3. AlanHaTe I need a result thread if at all possible for Low Tier Tournament and Friends
4. Riot for TAER 5 is BC BloodCross and if so who did he use in teams?
5. Ed I'm guessing that the "Tally" in PHB Tally is Tallahassee FL?

I will work on updating the video section tomorrow.

TeeVee used Wario and Game and Watch. He went ZSS once or twice but I can't recall actually winning when he went her.

oh, I'm so sorry to say this but, I told the TO's to upload the results to the forum and they never did it and I don't think they'll do it soon, as it's been about 2 or 3 months now x_x

I think you could ingnore that one for now(in case I talk to the guy who kept the bracket)

@#2: it was already set store credit prizes before the tourney even finished registering people so the payout would certainly look weird. Even if it were 100 people, I'd have still gotten $50 in store credit. I wish it were pot tourneys lol.

@#5: you are correct sir.

EDIT: for the PnT tourney I used Zelda/Sheik as per usual. Just mentioning it because I didn't see it. The update is so awesome!

Just got back from my first Socal tourny.
I was super rusty because I havent been able to practive smash for like, 3 months but I got back in the swing of things by the end of the night.

Anyways I'm super bad with names but my pools had
Some guy: lost to his :pt: 1-2
Vato: lost to his:metaknight: beat his :diddy:
Some guy: lost to his :metaknight: 1-2
Some guy: beat his :metaknight: 2-1
Some guy: beat his :sheik:(people always try to use their pocket Sheiks against my Zelda for some reason, maybe they feel its some sort of way to prove they are better with my character, even though Zelda and Sheik are different characters.) lost to his :lucario:( I hate this match up soooo much)
Some girl: beat her :marth: 2-1
Some guy: lost to some guy 0-2 who used :rob: against like everyone else but uses :metaknight: against the only low tier in his pool :awesome:
Some guy: beat his 2-0 :marth:

Literally all I saw were MKs, Snakes, Falcos, Diddies, Marths, a toon link, a GnW a sonic and the PT I played.

Also scary I tried combating Marths f air with Zeldas f tilt.
Zeldas f titl comes out on like 12 or 13 and Marths F air comes out on 4.
thats like 3 times faster than her f tilt.
it also doesnt go through it if the marth spaces it properly.

The marth would have to be spacing really poorly and throwing out f tilt like after the Zelda has already began to swing her arm

not to mention f tilt had a lot of ending lag, unless you land it expect to get punished

Multiple friendlies I had with a friend of mine and his secondary-ish characters. These matches were from a little before the HOBO matches I linked to last time, but just recently got recorded. I more or less play the same way I did then though, so I'm still open to ideas and suggestions and critques from these.

I know Fuu, combating Marth's Fair with Angled up Ftilt is tough but you have to trust me that it works. I still get punished now and then but to me, having that as a threat is enough to make them stop blandly walling me with Fairs. I just land it a lot more because I've been incorporating Ftilt for around a year or so now.

Btw, I wanted to ask last time, when did you end up in SoCal? Also, link for the tourney? I'm pretty confident I know that Mata was the Pkmn trainer and Iktomi is the Sheik/Lucario. Otherwise, great stuff and I hope to see more results from ya man!

Also, hi Sonic Storm! I will get to your vids as soon as I performing ultra disaster relief cleaning on my room. Great to see you around again!

I lost to PJ's Toon Link, and Sync's Meta Knight. I could use a lot of work on both of these match ups. Oh and like two of my matches with TL went to time out, one with me winning, and one with him winning. I had some very sad deaths on Delfino Plaza after he went MK on me lol.

Sync hasn't put up the brackets yet but I'll post them here once he has them up ^^

Yeah I have a couple of vids too, tourney matches and a few friendlies, just need to get around to recording the replays. I played sooo campy, played kind of scared tbh. Not sure if it's because of me being overwhelmed at being in a tournament, or because I was the only girl there, or something else entirely. Ah well, just need to get used to it!

I like how Your Zelda feels very calculating. like she doesnt waste attacks and baits through movement rather than actions. also your spacing is really good usually. i think you could do a few less spotdodge>Dsmashing, and trade out for spotdodge>Nayru's sometimes to keep Dsmash more fresh for later, although even then you usually pull some kill move out your dress lol. on PS2 you seemed out of your element for a while though, don't go there much?

you do alot of panic Dsmashes, try not to do those so much because sometimes your slightly out of range and that can hurt you if your not close enough.

G@W try not to go to high above G@W if he is on the ground, its bad for Zelda. also if he's behind you don't roll into him as you'll eat a Dtilt.

whats w/ those Falco's? are they too good to pew pew Zelda or something? anyway your best off not reflecting lasers since that holds you still and leaves you open for his follow up if he shot close enough. unless you want to temp him into trying to fake you out w/ an empty short hop or something. try and better predict the sideB attempts so you can at least close the gap after he zooms away. also if you PS/Bock a Fsmash make him eat a Bair.

Love Jumps in general has some uses. I find it particularly useful for situations where I get knocked very far horizontally, such as Fox's and MK's downsmash - or when I get knocked very low in the air, which saves me from being edgehogged a lot. I like the diagonal love jumps and jumps out of throws/set ups, so that I can get out of them quickly.

Not to mention, it throws my opponents off guard when I go flying in a weird direction after their set up move. I've also been toying around with some Love Jump out of shield, such as the case on the 1st Friendly match vs MK.

I never found love jumping that useful.
It puts Zelda in the air...where she doesn't want to be.
Then Nayru's has like 30 frames of lag so it leaves her open.
It's neat and all but I don't think its very useful.
Maybe if Nayru's wasn't so laggy it would be better.
