Digital Circus time. I'm not a big of fan of Jax being characterized as kinder than he actually is (mostly due to the staff themselves clarifying that yeah, he's still a self-serving jerk with understandably no friends among the rest of the Circus, and episodes 2 on it's own made that clear), but I actually like this spin on the idea. Heck, part of me almost wishes this was canon.
I don't know whether it's because the characterization here manages to take some creative liberties while still seeming
just enough in-line with Jax's actual character (still genuinely being a total jerk, but one with a small amount of, yet notable human moments like saving Gangle and Kinger at one point when he didn't have to, and being genuinely upset or angry whenever Abstraction or related subjects get brought up), the fact that it's voiced by literally the
entire main cast members of the show themselves...or most likely just a combination of both, but the writing and performances here are strong enough that this song and the story here
almost feel like something that
could be directly out of an episode of the show itself.
Side note: major props to Lizzie Freeman and Michael Kovach in particular, here. They're both extremely good singers. Equally major props to RecD and his crew for all their work on the song itself and the illustrations in the video.
