Here are all of the wonderful things promised for this year's Summer Game Fest!:
  • No Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater
  • No Kingdom Hearts IV
  • No "One More Thing"
  • Geoff Keighley says he wants to lower your expectations
  • Keighley: "I wish Nintendo would take part in Summer Game Fest"

What a ****ing joke!
E3 died for this btw

But real talk, I can't stand Geoff Keighley, he seems so fake. Bro talks about games as an art and respecting creators, meanwhile he just glazes companies that run their employees like a sweatshop and invites dudes who really shouldn't have a platform. And then he chases off actual creators off stage because he needs ads.

if his parents weren't Imax executives he would be flipping burgers.

Will there be +18 versions of Famicom, Super Famicom, Game Boy and Mega Drive apps for the Japanese NSO?
What games should be there?

Man, E3 this ain't

I've been thinking this since before the year began, but this cements that it's looking like a mostly nothing year for gaming and media as a whole

Multiversus Ben 10
Passive
• Every alien has a default normal ground neutral and side, so you don’t automatically switch to fourarms right away apon hitting the ground. You will switch if you remain idle for a second or use another alien’s attack.
• Turn into Grey Matter when you crouch for a few seconds.

Dash Attack: XLR8
• Dash forward quickly as XLR8

Normal Ground Neutral: Humongosaur
• Humongosaur’s big clap attack from the DS Alien Force games.

Normal Ground Side: Fourarms
• Fourarms’ heavy combo from Protector of Earth

Normal Ground Up: Spidermonkey
• Switch to Spidermonkey and fire a web line upwards. If it hits, you’ll slam your target to the ground.

Normal Ground Down: Rath
• Switch to Rath and do a piledriver attack

Normal Air Neutral: Gravattack
• Switch to Gravattack and create an orbital gravity energy attack all around your body.

Normal Air Side: Jetray
• Turns into Jetray and dashes forward. Can be charged

Normal Air Up: Astrodactyl
• Switch to Astrodactyl and whip your energy maces upwards

Normal Air Down: Cannonbolt
• Quickly switch to Cannonbolt and rocket downwards

Special Ground Neutral: Heatblast
• Switch to Heatblast and throw two fireballs

Special Ground Side: Echo Echo
• Switch to Echo Echo and create a clone. The clone will act like watermelon Steven and run around attacking people with your limited Echo Echo moveset (small punch combo and sonic scream). You can either stay Echo Echo or switch to another alien, but the clone will stay.

Special Ground Up: Wildvine
• Switch to Wildvine and grapple onto something up above you. Be it a ledge or a foe.

Special Ground Down: Diamondhead
• Diamondhead punches the ground and creates a wave of raising diamonds, similar to an attack from the Omniverse Video Game.

Special Air Neutral: Stinkfly
• Turns into Stinkfly and fires goo from his eyestalks.

Special Air Side: Ghostfreak
• Switch to Ghostfreak and phase forward through attacks (a clone of Jason’s air sidestep)

Special Air Up: Terraspin
• Switch to Terraspin and create a tornado gust above you.

Special Air Down: Big Chill
• Turns into Big Chill and temporarily turns intangible. If hit during this state the opponent will get a stack of freeze on them.

It's like entertainment as a collective entity decided to take this year as a breather.

I dunno about you but next year looks like it has a lot of cool ****, so I'm hoping things'll be more exciting.

Honestly I don't mind this at all, I get to catch up on older stuff I missed out on, and it will make next year's lineup feel more special.

Nintendo should continue to mind their own business tbh…at this point it’s for the best with the triple a section of gaming

A Live Action Yakuza show is in the works for Prime Video.
I hope they have a whole episode dedicated to Pocket Circuit that everyone thinks is filler up until they get around to adapting Y6 and Infinite Wealth : )

Damn those Pocket Circuit scenes are looking great, bit weirder than I remember though

Ryoma Takeuchi, the actor who will be playing Kiryu, Also plays Kamen Rider Drive.
Honestly it's funny as **** cause I can't imagine him in the role but at the same time, I think everyone in this thread saw him cause of the like 5 second clip where he fights Gyarados in Detective Pikachu

OK. I still haven't seen it, but it's one of the few franchises in Multiversus left that doesn't have a stage or a leaked stage. So... what stage should they give Iron Giant?

It was me! I posted first! I get the soda!

Except I totally posted it first and I will only except cokes.

… do they make spider-man flavored soda?
They had Pop-Tarts for the first Tobey movie and the first Andrew movie.

more like bummer games fest
Don't worry, Microsoft will let you down even further.

I feel like 2023 had SO much stuff that it doesn't bother me that 2024 seems slower as a whole. I guess it's because in general there's also handful of lower profile games that are out like Zau, Prince of Persia, Anton Blast is supposed to be out in November. And early on there was Tekken and Final Fantasy. On the other hand, you had BS like the Suicide Squad game and the like.

The only thing I care about from Summer Games Fest is Season 2 for SF6 (assuming that's why it was included in the highlight reel) but I'm not going to waste my time tuning in for a whole lot of mid just to see it.
I would've expected EVO for any major Fighting Game news. But hey, if we get some info earlier, I wouldn't be sad about that.

Bridget was too strong for the servers.
Axel Low in this case, took this screenshot a bit before I was like '**** it I'm already invested in this game might as well buy the pass while its on sale"

I even bought a 8bitndo arcade controller, which has a BIG dpad to make inputs easier and a 6 button setup + 2 instead of 4 triggers(my nintendo switch pro controller was fine but I also use it for competitive splatoon and don't want to accelerate the wear n tear on it needlessly)

I've seen several people say that highlight reels from previous years were misleading and didn't necessarily mean anything was getting announced.

I wouldn't even be able to watch it live because somehow these types of things are always right in the middle of my work day.

There's like a 70% SF6 Season 2 is at Evo anyway so I wouldn't bother watching it even if I could.

I think the 3 chars I'be gravitated to the most is Nagoroyuki, Axel, and Bridget ngl

Faust and Asuka both seem fun but too big brain for my current skill level

Started Sonic Frontiers on the plane today.

Definitely one of the games of all time
I’m somebody who respects intent. I can see that they were really trying to go somewhere new and fresh with Sonic after the tasteless slop that was Forces, and the boss fights are really dope, so I have some respect for Frontiers.

As for the actual game…I think it’s the textbook definition of fine. Does some stuff good, some stuff bad.

So far I've been enjoying it but it's rough. I can't be too hard on the pop in cause I gobble up Pokémon yearly but I have other problems.

Sega sure did hire this man. I like the idea of the setting but it's really boring visually and it's coupled with boring as **** enemy designs - I'm someone who really values enemy variety cause it makes the world feel so much more alive and in this case it just doesn't do any favors to the really boring aesthetic Frontiers is going for.

Also the controls are kind of meh, I know it's a meme but I wish there was actual momentum to Sonic's movement, it feels unnatural without it. It doesn't have to be the end all be all of the level design but it adds weight to the movement, which Sonic in this game doesn't have. The controls are also what ruins the cyberspace levels imo

But running around in this world is fun, platforming is fairly creative and fun and I'm actually enjoying the combat as well, I executed a really sick combo against an enemy and that felt awesome

The enemy variety is moreso in the minibosses which for the most part are unique to each island which might help alieviate your issues here

2D Cyberspace controls are kinda. Well, bad until you get the post game/updaye stuff and the game does feature moment, try using the Drop Dash downhill, it's kinda awkward to use but it gets the job done. Also, you can fiddle with the controls a bit and while it mostly doesn't impact Cyberspace, I believe the toggle to let Sonic's speed go into his jumps do affect Cyberspace. Have fun!

Japan's Pokémon Twitter page changed its banner to promote Legends: Z-A

We're still probably months away from getting any news on it, though.
That suggests it could be sooner rather than later, though.

If we weren’t getting any info until like December or something they probably wouldn’t bother with the change. I could be wrong, but this tells me we may see the game this summer.

Same here.

I think Capcom confirmed that they do have multiple reveals to be shown at the Summer Game Fest.

In addition to a potential Season 2 reveal (or tease) for Street Fighter 6, I'm hoping that they will reveal more on Pragmata.
