So not really related to the AAA convo but my project of trying out each series with a character in Smash Ultimate has given me a newfound appreciation for video games in general. Before I took on the task, my views were kinda limited to the Nintendosphere (and really it was the scrimblo games, with small exceptions here and there) and I didn't really give several franchises a fair shake.

Well now that I took on the task, I found some of my favorite franchises and games, it's truly awesome stuff that I'm glad I got to experience. Y'all should do it too if you got the means to, don't narrow your gaming perspective to Bing Bing Wahoo company, you may really like some of them.

Ironically most favorite of the bunch since taking upon this journey were less popular Nintendo games and non-Nintendo games. Crazy how that works.

I try to branch out more too. At least trying out games in genres I do like, but titles I hadn't gotten to play fully, like Ghost Rider and I-Ninja, I also got into SSX3. In general I played a lot of licensed games, but mostly the good DBZ/Marvel ones. Can't go wrong with Budokai 3 or Ultimate Spider-Man.

Though the funny thing with me, is that while I did play a fair bit of Nintendo stuff as a kid, I STARTED with Tekken 3 and like MVC1, then Mortal Kombat/Soul Calibur. So I'm more of a Namco/Capcom kid, and the Nintendo stuff I got into the most was Metroid and obviously, Mario/Pokemon.

I played Mega Man a bit as a kid, but around 11-13 is when I really dove in and it became one of my favorite series. Then the DMC titles.

If you expand out further again, I would recommend NBA Jam, SSX Tricky or SSX 3, Midnight Club 3, Def Jam Vendetta/FFNY or Need for Speed Underground.

Been replaying the KH series and am partway through BBS.

Funny thing is I saw a post asking if you were kidnapped and the protagonists from the last game you played were to rescue you, how would you fair.

What other examples are there? This isn't me dunking on Banjo fans, I just can't think of any other series where people only like 1 out of 5 games, maybe two of em, and go "Please bring it back" so much to the point they scare the people who could make it

I have no actual favorite corpos, but the way the game industry, and honestly other industries are heading, there's likely to be a crash, something I guess I've felt was gonna happen sooner or later, so maybe I'm still wrong on that, but given that everything has a huge budget, and that they are expecting the same growth rate as 2020, despite the lack of a Global Pandemic to justify such an idea. Chances are, the current gaming audience is gonna be the largest amount of players for at least a few years until some kids get older.



It'll also hit EU, if only because Ubisoft. Cause no way they aren't also contributors to the budget problem. And I wouldn't be surprised if CDPR also got this problem, though I doubt as much as the former or EA.

Fair enough about CDPR but I refuse to acknowledge the Fr*nch for the grave sin of giving me my existence

Beat my 2nd run through of Pokemon Diamond is done. Still not my favorite Pokemon game all things considered. While I did have to grind to get my team's average level to 60 to match most of the Elite 4 + Cynthia being the same level it was a fairly simple breeze. The REAL buff was that I had an actual HM Jobber so that my team could have good moves, though it's not like Surf and Waterfall aren't good on their own or that Fly is solid in non-conpetitive play. Like Brick Break on Infernape instead of Rock Smash. Point is, no Defog or Rock Climb or Cut.

Infernape was the MVP, Staraptor, Roserade and Azumarill also put in work. Luxray didn't get to do much, but he got rid of Milotic.

Which is crazy cause Mega Man X2 is a perfect sequel. X3 and X8 are still pretty good. X5 is solid. But it is what it is. But seriously, I don't know why more people don't gas up MMX2, it's better than even X4.

Finished Echo. Was a good show, nice was to get back into the street level side of the MCU. With this show, Daredevil and Kingpin, hopefully the rest of the Netflix characters, and especially Spider-Man leading things, it could high key be better than the rest of the MCU overall
