I largely blame AI bros for taking things too far

using AI for science or stuff that can save lives, like detecting earthquakes, other planets, or helping find a cure for cancer? All well and good.

using it to put creatives out of business like AI art, AI writing, or the insidious **** they wanna do with stealing your likeness even after you’re dead? THAT’S WHERE I DRAW THE LINE.

There are certainly pros and cons with the use of AI as you had described above.

But for Hollywood studios, they should know that the use of AI is not the way forward within the entertainment industry as this was going to alienate writers, creatives and actors and drop the concept of the use of AI.

if the anime industry mimics the Hollywood AI bros and tries using AI to write an anime plotline or replaces seiyuu with AI I’m so done. I know they’re also trying to train AI to mimic Osamu Tezuka’s art style and I just…

like at least with like Vocaloids you got the consent of the ppl lending their voice for the voice banks

The sad thing about that backlash is that there was still a lot of human input involved.

A human artist drew rough drafts for the backgrounds, had the AI fill in the gaps, and then the person who drew the rough drafts combined things from all the AI's attempts at filling in the gaps and edited out blatant AI tells.

The problem is that the people in charge do not care about art, only money. There's some whistleblowing going on that would suggest that the reason movies get such unbelievably massive budgets is to take what's left and keep it for themselves, knowing this, would you trust a CEO to make a movie with AI and care about the ununionized artists?

If this strike succeeds it could send ripples that could change the entertainment industry for the better. We can survive a small period of time with less blockbusters and streaming shows, and I can especially if it means we'll be seeing them be of more consistent quality and if I can know that the industry I want to get into is something I can actually live while working for

Yeah.....in the end, all choices stem from one main factor in business. Even smash bros newcomers were tied to that as well since it is a big advertisment to the character's home series.

Been replaying other "Chibi" style Switch remakes recently such as Link's Awakening or BDSP due to my hype of Super Mario RPG Remake.

Link's Awakening is really cool, I love the mood of the game, the music, the cameos from other games and the dungeons are quite fun. I will probably try to finish It this summer.

BDSP I already completed It (even with all the event Pokémon caught), I still find It neat but I feel the visual style could have been polished a bit more and I wish you could make a new game+ savefile with all the Mystery Gift items and such. There's a weird feeling when you have done everything and don't know what else to do in the game.

Alright, Pikmin 2 is done with all treasures collected.

It's still a great game in its own right but I prefer the first game for its urgency in collecting the ship parts and focus on exploring the surface. The caves were neat at first but became pretty repetitive and downright cheap at times towards the end. Don't think I'll be replying this one as much thanks to all the bloat but I still heavily enjoyed my time with it.

I'm back from day 1 of the video game convention. I had a lot of fun and got some neat stuff:

• Pikmin 3 Deluxe
• Brawler64 controller for Switch
• Super Mario Bros. for Game & Watch (going to need to get batteries for it)
• Pokémon Pocket Comics book

I also entered a Balloon Fight tournament but I believe I ended up in 6th place (but I'm still the 2018 champion of that game)

Now I rest up for day two tomorrow.
