Huh so apparently the next Death Battle is Blake Belladonna vs. Mikasa Ackerman.

I recall that's been somewhat of a requested fight. What are the similarities between the two aside from being girls that are silent and stoic that keep to themselves or is that it?

Got a train going with my Sonic Clash part 2, but hit a couple roadblocks. Gonna ask a couple questions.

So I’m hitting Knuckles’s story atm. Who would be the best (Sonic related) opponents for Knuckles to face? Also trying to think of some potential level mashups that could happen, like two areas/levels from across the Sonic mashed together in visually and musically interesting ways, any potential ideas for this?
Noticed this got buried, is anyone willing to help me with this please?

So, I just found out one of my cousins died. She was found dead in the backyard of her parents' place. For some context they all live in England, while I'm here in Canada. Autopsy found no apparent cause as of yet. She was only about a year older than I was so she wasn't that old so there's no obvious health issues she may have had.

I haven't seen her since I was a toddler, but I'm still kinda shook by this news.
That's horrible...
Take whatever time you need to recover.

Ouch...Hope this wasn't a suicide.

Prayers and condolences out to you and your family.

Well for the first time in a looong time, I decided to draw something. I'm so out of practice that I thought it'd come out terrible but...it's okay I guess.
I figured I'd start with Perry since he's really simple and I'm currently just trying to get a feel for things. Tomorrow I'll probably draw a pokemon.

I think if I'm smart about how I practice I could get pretty decent very fast. If I do one picture a day I might start doing original poses in a week. When I was young there was a period where I was constantly drawing pictures of Charizard and Mew in different poses. I'm sure I could learn to do stuff like that again.

Look nice, I look forward to your future drawing!

I don't normally do Tier Lists but with people posting opinions on the previous few pages and it being the series' anniversary I thought what the heck.

FE1 - You have to respect the original even if it has definitely aged. I would argue not as bad as a lot of NES JRPGs/Strategy games given the nature of the game generally plays up the best aspects of both, but the QoL improvements from FE2 on really show. Worth playing only if you're a FE fan, it has some fun quirks, but was worth supporting if you're a game preservationist or want to see more cool projects like it. RIP FE1 Switch.

FE2 - I have a theory that it's a reaction to the hardware limitations of the first. The maps suck and balance is questionable, but it's much easier to pick up and play with shorter maps/more save points and less item management being needed. It's story and graphics were a massive improvement and the music could be argued as among the best in the series. The remake is objectively better but the changes to dungeons/overworld still give some uniqueness to the original.

FE3 - Another game that shows it's age, but impossible not to give it it's due in defining the series. It's an absolutely stuffed game (albeit some FE1 content was cut) that tells a complete story and fixes a lot of the issues the previous hardware had created. FE11/12 are better as a whole, but neither individually overtakes this one.

FE4/5 - While I own both, I find it really hard to set aside time for them. FE4 gets a lot of praise but at the same time I feel that it may be overhyped (it is a SNES game after all) and the large maps I've heard are polarizing and very time consuming. FE5 does return to basics, but the horror stories I heard about it's mechanics and difficulty there of make me nervous to pick it it; also because it's probably better to play FE4 first.

FE6 - Basically the next step the original FE1 formula needed to take and that offered a lot of QoL benefits and the MAJOR addition of supports. Problem is that the game is not paced well in it's gameplay and that the story is pretty forgettable. Roy being useless most of the game is not exactly an understatement neither is the final boss being the easiest in the series, throw some awkward maps and best ending requirements and you have a pretty average game.

FE7 - FE6 but better in all aspects. Better story, music, level design, QoL improvements, more levels/story, etc. Lyn's story is a great tutorial for the series as well. I really can't think of a game that better defines what FE is than this.

FE8 - Have beaten more than once but not for a long long time. It's cool to bring back elements from FE2 but I also think the balance of the game wasn't as solid as a natural result of easy grinding access.

FE9 - If I had to pick a peak this would probably be it. Best story/world building in the series hands out, a strong cast, good soundtrack, and a lot of freedom with the gameplay that doesn't exist with other FE titles before and after: bonus exp allows for extra mission objectives to strive towards and gives newcomers options in between chapters to customize their units (GC Reset Button!), base conversations are rewarding extra pieces of story content on top of supports, forging makes it debut (kill bosses with a customized purple super sword!), skills finally have a formal system and aren't necessarily class restricted etc.

A lot of complaints I see I feel are mostly nitpicking such as game speed, the move from sprites to 3D models, and unit balance (though seriously, Knights have always been bottom tier no matter the FE game). There are certain maps that can be annoying but I don't feel come close to the frustrations of FE6 or FE15. Biorythm is pointless but I don't think it's a game changing stats one way or the other.

The Black Knight fight is probably the worst part of the game as it's entirely random as to whether or not you'll pull off Aether and is kind of dumb you have to replay the entire chapter to try again. That said, it is optional and in a testament to how cool he is, BK himself doesn't change his stats even on harder difficulties. Memorably frustrating.

FE10 - Definitely polarizing. On the one hand it allows for a very unique style of storytelling for the series, but on the other it makes it hard to form a proper team of units and basically kills supports; more of a strategy fan leaning FE game. It does offer some QoL improvements over the previous game at the very least, but I feel a lot was lost on people due to the localization mix up.

FE11 - This game gets way too much hate IMO and a lot I feel gets lost as a result. Reclassing, online modes, skip animations/turns with the Start Button, mid-map save points, etc. This is probably the easiest FE game to pick up and beat in a weekend. That said, my goodness does it play things too straight. No support conversations and killing the cast to access the new content. One sucks, the other is bad game design. Play it as a straight FE1 remake, but not much else.

FE12 - Pretty much fixes the biggest issue with FE11 but at the same time arguably goes a bit too loose with the new content; albeit filling in story blanks left by the original FE3. Kris I feel is the best realization of the Avatar/My Unit concept in every way. That said, a lot of the new features that were added throws off the game balance, and that Kris is arguably the most broken character in the series. This game also introduced Casual Mode, which is perfectly fine and probably needed to happened at some point but at the same time I don't feel offers the same of experience FE became known for.

FE13 - Possibly the most polarizing game in the series, though I do think in recent years outside of nostalgia I think is getting more and more a general consensus. It's certainly not a bad game but it does have issues and a lot of things credited to it probably doesn't deserve both positive and negative. Pair Up is an interesting mechanic but is definitely a tad overpowered. The cast is mostly strong though the story itself is among the weakest in the series. Robin, IDK, is the worst of the Avatars IMO.

I think I could go into further detail, but the division between old and new fans I think is very much one rooted within the time frame it came out in. There's certainly no excuse for how some older fans behaved (I remember helping ban some from this site), but at the same time arguing "sales = quality" isn't exactly a sound argument either.

FE14 - Not much to say other than IS flew too close to the sun with their ambition; or I guess too far into embracing the hardcore anime community. I think this game reached a faster consensus than FE13 and did push a lot of newer fans to start checking out older games. There is certainly stuff to admire such as the QoL improvements over FE13 and the solid OST, but it's really hard to mince words with each of the routes. Also Phoenix Mode I feel is a step too far and am glad it's gone.

Conquest is objectively the best, but it's story is the worst in the series. Revelations I have a soft spot for, at least in terms of embracing the experimentation of the map design; there are some ideas I'm glad were attempted on a gameplay level. Birthright, while objectively not a bad game in any sense, is the worst game in the series IMO. The gameplay stands out in no aspect and the story is a poor man's FE3 hitting just about every story note.

FE15 - This is easily the best remake Nintendo has put out. You can hate the maps and the balance, but I think that kind of takes the game out of the context of when it was originally created, and at least personally I think was needed step back the series had to take after the ambitious to a fault FE13/14. The new take on Dungeons was fresh and a massive improvement over the screen by screen mazes of the original. The improvements in the presentation felt like it was pushing new grounds for the series for the first time since the Tellius games and pushed the 3DS in a way comparable to Kid Icarus Uprising which had released around the same time as FE13.

For me this was a breath of fresh air. I was one of the few FE fans who had nostalgia for FE2, so I honestly freaked out like Maximilian Dood did when he heard the opening music notes of FFVII for Cloud's Smash trailer.

FE16 - I still need to play more of it, but I think this is a good start the series potentially has going forward. Strong cast, decent story and world building, continuing off of FE15 in terms of presentation, etc. I holy hesitate to put it higher as I think the sim aspects don't always balance out and can be kind of flustering with just how much there is to manage at times.

Once you get your Professor Level maxed out and or recruit most of the cast to your House, however, the sim aspects really start to outstay their welcome in the opposite way. Depending on whether or not you've done well with your time, the game's balance really fluctuates between easy/difficult with no real in-between .

I'm bored so here's my ranking of every Persona game I played:

Feel free to explain why my opinions are correct and my taste is excellent.
I haven't played a single Persona game yet.

So i'm just gonna quote this post and say, "yes".
