Might as well just horizontally outspace link's dair since his aerial movement is garbs, just like how you generally want to hit a dairing lucario from the side even if you can beat it.

Like I said before you can wait in your tether and then reel in to get full invincibility. You can also time a down b. I have a hard time believe fair doesn't trade hits with up b, and that is an exchange that is much better for ZS in a gimp situation

I actually found something interesting a while back about Ike's Aether. If you were to, say, take his power with Kirby, and hit Ike's sword while he's using Aether with Eruption (or whatever his neutral b is called), then Ike is insta-dead.

When he throws the sword up, does that become his hurt box?

So, Ike has two hurtboxes in a sense? One at his sword while using Aether and one at where the actual character sprite is? Am I understanding this right? If so, then I kind of find it slightly amusing since you have one hurtbox that is covered by super armor frames and one that is not.

No, his hurt box is where he currently is. And I believe using Eruption on his Aether for a kill would depend on how much damage he has, and how much Kirby charges it. It wouldn't take much though, seeing how strong the move is.

I always see Ally trying to spike Ike's out of their Aethers his Falcon.

Half the time it hits and succeeds.
Falcon's Dair is more disjointed then you would first believe. Not Ganondorf disjointed, but not exactly ending at his feet either.

That's impossible, though. I hit when he was separated from his sword, and I'm positive I hit the sword alone. Also, it was on BF, and it sent him at an angle that pretty much guaranteed he would be stage spiked.

Eruption has a very, very large hitbox. He could have been flying up and hit it. There is also the fact it can hit through part of BF/FD/SV because it's so big, so if he was hugging the slope he could have been hit while the spinning sword was well above the stage edge. But I know for a fact that Ike's hurtbox is only where he currently is when using aether. The fact he was sent flying means that his SAFs were done, and thus he was moving upwards at the time.

Eruption sends people upwards, so ya he probably hit the stage edge if he was trying to slide up the slope.

EDIT: Ah man, it would be so easy to rub salt into this by saying that Ike's hurtbox being in the spinning sword is as stupid as messing up PT's order. Better not talk about Ike anymore, just like I shouldn't talk about PT anymore eh? ;)

Haha Alright, you caught me billowing blue smoke about a character I don't know that much about. Although, I have seen this happen with my own eyes. But, very well, I respect your sense of humor as well as your saltiness.

You win this round, Niddo

Well, just think of it this way: if that was true, wouldn't Ike Dittos be much easier? Just knock the guy off stage, and hit his spinning aether with Dtilt while he's still down below instead of trying one of various stupid/humorous things to gimp him.

Also, Aethering under the stage edge on SV, BF and PS1 would go from almost completely safe to the stupidest thing you could ever do. If you tried it once and someone saw it coming your sword could pretty much eat any move in the game while it was floating above the stage.

*shudders*

Ike dittos are NOT my idea of fun, whatsoever. Too much ******* sword swingin around. Have you ever noticed how Ike's sword doesn't make a slashing sound when it connects? It's more of a harsh bash than anything else. Besides, it probably just ends up being a bunch of nairs and jab setups

It does. And it's really fun if both Ikes fall off the same side of the stage.

"AETHER! YAAAAAAAAAAAY! AETHER! AETHER! *sword spinning sounds* YAAAAAAAAAY! YAAAAAAAAAAY! YAAAAAAAAAAAY! *sword spinning sounds* AETHER! *sword spinning sounds* AETHER!" Followed by one Ike finally falling too low to make it back, and likely dragging the other Ike down with him.

I only play Ike dittos basically to experiment with various stages and get the other player's opinion of the stage. In an actual tournament, I would switch to Falcon most likely.

lol... I wonder how many other characters have ever taken m2k to game 5 in grand finals :p

And another thing... If X's performance doesnt warrant a boost in ther tier list for Sonic, I'd like to know what actually DOES. Its complete and utter *********** that sees other characters go above him, yet couldnt dream of doing what he does regularly with sonic.

Yeah I know sfp... It's always amusing to see how the SBR attempts to persuade me with big words though.

and I think match 5 in grand finals sounds much more impressive than a simple 2-6 count, since obviously GF's are a lot more serious than the others.

er ok lets use the "that character does well/beats M2K therefore that character is better argument"

did you know a lucas took M2K to last stock?

seriously you can't statistically support this argument

hurr durrr

do you know x took m2k to last stock 4 times in 5 matches... in grand finals... and actually took that final stock... TWICE? Including a round on RC if you dont mind.

Statistically support lmao. Who needs stats to show what a character is capable of. You can tell me that sonic has one of the lowest damage outputs per attack in the game, and I can tell you Sonic just got 2nd in a big regional... 27 months after the game has come out. no more MU inexperience johns, that excuse lost all meaning long ago.

The argument is not 'Sonic does well vs m2k therefore he should rise'. The argument is that many of the characters above him (especially Sheik and PT) have never done as well as Sonic, and likely never will. So if the tier list is meant to represent how a character can perform in tournament, in what universe is it accurate to say a character that is proven to place well, should be lower than those which never do anything?

Also, All aboard the sonic hype train. Choo choo!
