I'm going to be moving to kent for grad school this coming fall and was wondering if there's any melee players in the area. Been playing for a while and it's just sort of a hobby I like doing once a week. Figured I'd see if there was anyone in the area. Thanks.

There's me, there's KB....there were a few other guys but they haven't shown up on this thread in a long while. There's a melee specific thread for NEOH/midwest I forget where though...Uh...Im probably the one who seeks it the most and I rarely get it. King plays as well iirc. Too many of them are fine with just playin brawl/P:M now though so...
Melee is kinda dead-ish in NEOH I hear its alive and well in dayton though...
EDIT: I see one problem already...You're plenty far from me, and waaay far from the dayton crowd...that alone puts a huge damper on melee-ability unless u can make a trip 50 minutes/32 miles north every couple weeks lol. There's melee here n there at tournies, but it's never the main focus, and I've not seen it actually have enough folks interested in it for a year to a year n a half now.....I dunno how far u are from KB/anyone else, but iirc we're all pretty far from King...

Alrighty. It's gonna be pretty difficult to get enough free time to travel far (grad school I've heard is pretty demanding ). I guess I'll just play it by ear and try to catch people as they come through. Sucks melee is dying maybe I can get someone interested again.

It's still alive...just not in NEOH. And in general in midwest it's never been as strong as EC n WC. ESPECIALLY WC...

If SciFiGuy still goes to Kent, you might want to look him up. Not sure if he plays Melee or not, but I think he does. Also if you head east down Main Street away from KSU, you'll hit Warren after about 45 mins. A lot of Melee players around there.

actually there are quite a few melee players that go to Kent and in the surrounding areas, there used to be weekly smashfest not too far from kent. they just dont post in this thread cause its the brawl thread

Going to the game tomorrow...I can has hype. Lots of hype.
Sad that Sizemore and Hafner are both on the DL though. They are major contributors to our wins as of late, especially Pronk (surprisingly enough)
But Carrera (guy we brought up from AAA to cover Hafner) seemed to be a good choice, especially for that great play last night.
