Well, this is 'their first one'. It's not for money, but just a game prize. Apparently the guy running it is a '40 year old guy whos into smash contests*'
* = Yes he did call them that....whether or not that's what the guy called them remains to be seen...

My library seemed to think one round elimination with ingame tournament bracket, and one projector/wii combo was enough.... :/
They've got a spare TV and I'm bringin my Wii...but that's still two systems for however many kids -.-
The local library guy here I'm on good terms with was like 'oooh well its our first tournament so its gonna be a lil out there'
....
There's a difference between 'out there' and ' getting into the spin of things'....and just plan flat out not trying hard enough...

EDIT: Im told the 'game prize' will be "A game system or something" *shrug* Who knows...I'll be working with this guy to try n give as much tournament info as possible, and this wednesday I'll show him how a few 'tourny matches' would play out ....It'd be up to him to try n make sure/convince any other folks who need convincin to follow the 'official' rules for comp smash....

Just so everyone knows, I'm not going to SiiS. It'll burn up the entire weekend, I don't want to drive 4 hours there and back, and Brawl bracket is scheduled on Sunday and I work on Monday.

That's right. I never considered that brackets were Sunday. If I end up taking anyone that will go deep in brackets, then I'm not getting home until late on Sunday. And I also work on Monday. This might not work for me at all. :/

I was going to SiiS for the melee friendlies tbh XD. And brawl I suppose.

Lokii that seems it but I was told it was september not august....I'm trying to work with the guy at my branch to try n convince the others to follow the 'official' brawl tournament ruels more closely, and tomorrow I'm bring my SD card n showing how a few typical matches may play out. I'll also explain to him to tell the others that it's bad manners to force people to let others use their controller....

EDIT: And yeah the vibe I got last week was Tony (the guy Im talkin with) was under the impression that it'd be a FFA, he didn't know comp was 1v1 O.o
EDIT: If they DO do FFA...I'll just do Ike n PKMNT like I did before, which means a lot of practice with craig on my PKMNT until that day arrives xP
EDIT: Trying to convince tony to try n get both libraries to have more than 1 set up each (preferrably 2-3+ AT LEAST)

Just saw Dr Mario 12's Doc on the WA smash community (or one of em) and I've gotta say....they raise a few points although I believe the MvC2 community is just as homey as Smash....Gotta say though, constantly hearing and seeing videos of other communities....NEOH keeps seeming smaller and smaller, doubly so cause everyone's leaving/leaving in the next few years

SiiS5 has more than just Brawl now to worry about.
For people with actual JOBS, the scheduling sucks.

Also Austin, I thought about it and have taken some exception to your assertion that my regular daily driver is "poopy". If you want to go so badly; drive your car. I'll let everyone down there know to watch for that bright red Audi

Anyway, I don't think I'm going to SiiS5 now. Housing is going to be an issue outside of staying at the hotel (which could end up being 2 nights). And the way I've been sleeping lately, I don't want to get up super early again like for the last one.

I would like to hold a smashfest at my place on Friday or Saturday to make up for it though. Whichever day is better. Probably Saturday.

SiiS has ran late due to Brawl Pools. Nothing more. Nothing Less. Doubles finish early, then pools last forever due to the lack of setups.

Pools on Saturday only, with about 30 Setups confirmed is better. Pools end Saturday evening around about 7-9pm LATEST on Saturday. Then the bracket, already made and ready to go and be called (42 man) will begin exactly at 1pm. With more setups than we need for bracket, everyone will be already playing and starting their matches. Those in bracket who are not there at 1pm is instantly DQ'd. Honestly, 42-man bracket isn't going to take 12 hours to do. Think about it! It should only take a few hours to complete. It takes two sets to lose to get knocked out. Bracket finishes really fast.

Last SiiS we had about 20 setups or less. People don't contribute in bringing setups and it really hurts. Obviously doing 100+ people on 20 T.Vs. is going to be difficult to finish early in a single day.

But we are saying, TWO days, 30 setups, bracket ready, made, confirmed, and going at exactly 1 pm on Sunday.

People with jobs, understandable! It's good to put important life things before Smash.

But it'll be an amazing experience, and the arcade is a fantastic place to be. Not only that, we're being interviewed and recorded and I really would have loved for all of Ohio to be together and to show/spread to Ohio locals of Smash. If not, maybe next time!

However, if you have the free time on Saturday don't miss out on an amazing experience of Smashers from all over the country, top players, unlimited arcade gaming, being interviewed, seeing old friends before they move, and generally being part of a huge Smash movement.

Good luck with work if you do decide to not come! Watch the stream from home if possible! I love Ohio, and I only want what's best for our state. <3

Yeah, I'd love the unlimited games. Trust me I would LOVE to go...but I don't have a ride outside of Argent since Bead moved, family can't afford it, I can't afford it, and I don't wanna go for 2+ days with no food or $ for food or gas or hotel or whatever... :<
EDIT: If you can GET ME a ride and housing from someone for the 2 days, I can TRY n get 10-20 $ for my food for 2 days and maybe some gas $ for whoever drives me...but again, I'd need a ride, and no way in hell I can afford a hotel....
EDIT: Don't get me wrong...I don't have anything to do...My last day of school is the 9th. So the 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th are all, to my knowledge, free for me. So....Its definitely not a schedule problem with me...It's more a 'OH GOD I HAVE NO FOOD MONEY, OH GOD ID HAVE NO HOUSING, OH GOD I HAVE NO TRANSPORTATION' sort of deal....I would LOVE to be in an arcade like that and to be interviewed n just play friendlies with people who aren't...NEOH...because not many people in NEOH play melee, at least not near me (everyone for melee outside of jiggly is 40+ minutes away it seems, and even brawl jiggly n argent are the closest at 20-30 minutes :/) Plus they're not NEOH so I may not have played them yet :3

Because I don't know where he lives, I haven't seen him post here, and I haven't seen him since Pools Pools 4 last effin feburary....almost 16 months ago :/
EDIT: Jiggly, I play a lot of characters. I always keep wolf as my main cause I love him the most, but he's one of the hardest for me to feel I have an even fight with...Wish I could play like a japanese wolf xD. I mostly do Marf n Wolf. Me n Auspher both do more than b, c stick n roll so...
