Some of the pools were pretty stacked, a lot of really good players didn't make it out, it seems. I know Bloodcross didn't and that was sort of an upset.

I hope it doesn't get you down too much, even though this tournament was pretty rough. D:

I never get phased when I lose, but that's probably because I just play to have fun.
That being said, it's not like I don't try to win; I just play to get better.

Just heard Denti is a good Olimar so don't feel bad to losing to that one. And Mc Peepee is insanely good from what I remember.

You apparantly had one of the toughest pools.

Hmm well I mained Lucas since the game first game out because I absolutely fell in love with his character (being shy and timid but actually strong) and I loved the way he was portrayed in the SSBB. Then his playstyle just fits mine the best so I began playing him more and more until now there is little to nothing I don't know about this character.

lol @ AUS/USA lag.
But you live in California, I played people from there so I don't have trouble playing people from there, the lag is not even noticeable after a few games (imo anyways)

I'm going back upstate to school in about a week, I'll finally have people to play.

I can't do WiFi, I get so salty over everything. It's weird 'cause I never get really mad over losing when I'm playing someone offline, even if it's the result of me making some stupid input error or misbuffering something. But if it happens on WiFi, I got Johns for days. :C

the 'troll' nature of the mother 3 games is what made me like it a lot, along with the storyline of innocents being transformed (sometimes literally eg chimeras) into evil people with the introduction of money, and also the sadness (ofc).

if i havent voiced this enough, i really want to see vids from shaky and fae, coz they got steeze.

I saw WF versus Shaky, that match was crazy. He's really impressive.

And I saw the results, you placed ninth in Mid Tiers? That's really good! There were soooo many insanely good mid tier players there. Will, Reflex, Kain, Shaky, Ryo, YBM, Chibo, Ally....

Also top 8 in doubles, right?

I honestly think you just had some hard luck in pools, you did really well in everything else you entered.

Yeah FAE, you ***** Doubles and did really well in Mid-Tiers. You just had a sucky pool.

I don't know why, but Lucas is such a controversial topic in the tier list discussion thread. D:

I don't see how much backlash about Lucas lately since it's more positive critique lately. Plus we have 0 BBR members in the backroom so it is up to whether there is enough support from people who don't focus on Lucas.

Well, I don't mean any meaningful or widespread backlash. There just always seem to be three or four people who loathe anything below Borderline tier and will trash anyone that mentions any character down there. And since Lucas is always a point of contention for many people and comes up all the time, he takes the brunt of their hate. At least it seems that way whenever I venture over there. D:

It just seems that everyone who posts over in matchup/tier list discussions either adores Lucas or think he and everyone who touches him is garbage. There's no middlemen on SWF. So Lucas' ascension to mid tier will have a couple of really loud complainers.

I know exactly what you mean.
my friends say i should drop lucas if i wanna win; theres just no one that really accepts he has potential and are content to ignore him.
lucas is also defs top 10 doubles character, and not because of heal

Haha I know what you mean Jimmy, however, after years of it you get used to it sadly.

And THANK YOU JAMWA! Yes, Lucas is by far one of the best doubles characters in the game even without healing.

Yeah, Lucas is just a great DPS player and a Punisher. Truly a great doubles partner in tons of scenarios.

Fae, make sure you don't give yourself too little credit on this one. Remember you did well in everything else and you're still an amazing player (who I look up to immensely).

You'll be fine mate! Just look at the australian sailor in the London Olympics, Tom Slingsby. He decided he wanted to be an olympic sailor after the 2000 games and entered in Beijing in 2008. he was world's no. 1 at the time but sailed one of the worst regattas of his life. He walked away with nothing and almost quit. but his parents urged him on and he came back this year and easily took gold.

That probably sounds completely unrelated but what i'm saying is, you're a great player in general and no matter what you'll rep Lucas like no-one else can. Good stuff, man! :D

Esam and I used to think it was 0 until he mastered the regrab gayness.
Pika can regrab us all the way across the stage and upsmash after we are grab released.

We now think it is -1 for lucas. The grab gayness is a good enough advantage to give them a -1.

Grab release CGs really hurt Lucas since it's also a position thing, so I'd have to agree :/

Hmm, you think so? I'm not necessarily disagreeing but i've always thought if we play the 'don't get grabbed game' then pika will be forced to damage us other ways. While it is possible I think the CG would only happen once or twice to a sensible player, perhaps even nought.

Of course you play ESAM and I don't know many good pika mains. Although beware of basing a stat on someone you play a lot, mindgame knowledge from two players that know each other's mindsets a lot is a big factor in these things (I know cause I play with my brother all the time).

On the other hand, it's not what WILL happen so much as what CAN happen. Perhaps it is a -1 then, even if our good grab mindgame has pretty much become a solid factor in any given match-ups. Perhaps this is why DK went from -4 to -3? Gah I dunno. :-/

So I want to be sure on this before I go excitedly to the ness boards and tell them we'll be in low mid together. We are confirmed for going up right? Yes? Maybe?
