Well, there are only two possibilities here. Either you do play offline in which case you shouldn't have anything to worry about, or you don't play offline, and you're just whining that your online victories mean nothing. Either way, my point still stands.

A typo is when you misspell something once on accident. You were spelling it wrong consistently. It makes you seem less intelligent.

The bottom line is that online play means virtually nothing because it is true. It wasn't stated by someone with a personal vendetta against online players. It just holds true in the real world. Players who focus exclusively on online play simply do not perform well when they finally enter a high level real tournament. The same is sorta true in reverse.
That's not really true Buzz. Alot of top players play wifi quite a bit. Ally in particular comes out, since he played Stricly wifi until his first tournament which wasn't too long ago and ***** and has been since. Other top players like Anther, Atomsk, Snakeee, Sk92 play wifi alot too.
I strictly plyed wifi for a very long time which helped me improved alot whereas now Im winning tourneys and placing really high consistently.

Yes, Offline does mean much more obviously and Tourney experience > Wifi however wifi is very good for matchup experiences and practicing.

Also note that those players place quite differently irl than they do on wifi, some better, some worse. It's basically a different game depending whether you play it on wifi or irl.

I understand what you're saying, but I never implied that playing online makes you worse. I never said that if you play a ton online, you cannot perform well offline. Only if you play exclusively online does your offline performance suffer.

And playing online is certainly better than playing CPUs or nobody at all, so online play can certainly bring you up from zero. LOL

To an extent but it depends as you said and also the amount of lag obviously.

Like when I play Ally or Sk92 they still do the same crazy shiz they do offline lol

But it really varies and as you said how much wifi they play, like when I stop playing wifi for long periods of times and have only been playing offline it takes quite awhile to get accustomed to it but when im consistently playing on wifi it doesn't feel much different than offline to me.
Also depends on how used you are to the character.
Like unless its heavy lag, I have no problem using Dedede and everything feels really normal whereas with almost any other character Im very bad online with them lol

even the slightest lag can have an effect though. Players that play irl are used to no lag at all, and play based on that factor. Players that play online are prepared for it and practice for it. They know how to cope with it and adapt to ever changing lag. It's like I said. Wifi only proves how good you are against other players that play wifi. SK92 for example generally places better irl than he does on wifi, whereas Ally places a bit better online than he does irl. It's not any worse than irl, but completely different, and should be treated as such for matters such as rankings.

XD everything you said was true except the last bit lol. Noone cares that much for online tourneys but on the aib ladder, Sk92 was top 10 and ally 1st. Ally/sk92 basically win the online tourneys they participate in(which isnt many) because theyre pretty gay.

But Ally hasn't even lost a set IRL yet so i dont see how he places better on wifi XD.
If anything he just beats everyone there like irl lol

idk about that, I coulda swore he's placed roughly top 3 at some of the tournaments he's been to irl, whereas he's placed first at all the online ones.

Instead of talking about the thread itself, why don't we talk about why we believe these Link mainers became hall of fame and why we admire them so much.

Seriously wheres Aurashade? Without him the Link boards would be covered with n00bs.

Some legends do but some don't Unknown17. If your still curious who does play online ask some of them.

Of course if they can stand the **** lag.

So do the legends play online?...
im sure they have but i doubt they do more than once in a blue moon. if you play in as many real life tournaments as they do then they dont want wifi to mess them up, which is understandable.

but i do happen to know that izaw and deva hate online, and aurashade doesn't really play. but im not sure about the others.

LOL

"Dear diary, I admire the players in the hall of fame thread so much! You'll never guess what Legan did today....."

Actually this thread is kind of a dead end -- WAFFLEZ transfer over the awards from the link tier list or do something with this. I suggest you make this a "_______ of the week" thread like "Link of the week," "Gimp of the week," or "Jab lock of the Month." I don't know, you figure it out.

That sounded like somthing out of a Zelda cutscene.

Epic thread, but not worthy of a skicky.

Arkive rarely, rarely plays online. Legan doesn't even own a Wii.

Epic thread! I like this better than a tier list, by far. ^^^lol at Legan not owning a wii and being as good as he is. xD
