**** YO im about to go on a brawl rampage and ****ing kill everyone in brawl and then they will be like..maybe they can pick fox on my falcon and beat me in melee **** MELEE is such a ****ing good game brawl is a boring piece of ****,sorry excuse of a game cuz he creator ''doesnt like competition'' god****

if you're talking about me, i didn't go to the weekly to "protest" brawl. in fact, i didn't even pay attention to it because i was having so much on that ONE melee set up.
the actual reason i went to the weekly was so i could hang out w/ my friends after. it was actually pretty successful seeing as how i didn't get home til 4:03 am

I called it a "protest" because the ppl who came for Melee didn't enter the weekly. But I wasn't talking about just one person either.
There were two melee setups when I first came. And I don't know if it was meant to be a joke or what not but someone I know went over to play Melee. Someone asked "do you have a main in brawl" the person said "yes" and then the other person said "then you can't play". THAT is annoying. Joke or not.
And yes, the bubble tea outings are always fun regardless of Melee/Brawl/WTFEVERELSE!

also to ryan ... again ... my point still stands ... cuz in melee when u do a grab it has to b timed perfect for that to happen ... so i'm still F UUCKING RIGHT ... don't gimme bull about how its different cuz of grab speeds ... cuz thats exactly wat i'm complaining about ... and shields have every right to b in this debate about grabs ... 80% of grabs in this game happen after a shield ... so yea i was talking about grabs ... and i can linger over to shields ... thanks once again to further help my point =D

one thing i did notice was a lot more people were interested in playing melee this time around, AND, a lot more people were comfortable expressing their boredom w/ brawl..
anyday now..
Just lemme know when/where and i'll try to be there.

yo no offense to anyone but one thing i don't like about brawl is how almost everyone who was wack at melee is using it as an escape route to get good. even before brawl came out, the noobs gave up on melee and waited for the new, wacker version to come out. i don't respect that ****. i'm not saying brawl is a bad game i'm saying it's not right for tournaments and melee is just better. i honestly miss the old melee crowd and it's hard gettin taken over, which is sorta what's goin on lol. cass and dial are still too cool tho, and from what i know dial was pretty nice at melee so more respect to him.

remember this wednesday and thursday, if u hate playin brawl online cuz of the delay and if u have bad connection the lag, web2zone will be having an afterwork/school special for brawl. i start work at 6. if u go around 3pm post it and i can go to work early and train wit whoever. just post if u able to go this week.

LOL Bum has no shame coming into the "melee reviving strive for NYC" thread to advertise. Good **** Bum. I know everyone always says that, but yeah. You're ok in my book.
I think its very obvious that a lot of people bash brawl simply out of fear. They know that without the people that they are bashing, that melee competition is smaller. So they are kinda bashin you outta love...i think. At least the smart ones are, the dumb one's just follow suit. Right now all the hardcore melee fans are just trying to point out brawl flaws, in an effort to draw brawl players back into melee.
I've tried to stay somewhat neutral on the topic, although I do feel similarly to the melee players. Although, I will say that one thing that is not so fun about melee is the extent to which a player can thrive off tech skill. Don't get me wrong, some tech work is nice. I dislike the simplicity in brawls gameplay. But characters with no roof, like fox for example, are somewhat annoying at times. This is why I dediced to leave melee for brawl, but than I ended up comin back because well...i got bored.
But yea, I hear ya crismas. I hear all of ya.

This whole thread is ********, why did all this brawl hate have to start? Why does brawl have to die for melee to thrive, just host both games and let whoever wants to go to which one go. At least have the 2 options available.. that simple.

The end of brawl wasn't the intention of most. Luck's hope to 'phase brawl out' was unique to him. All of Vanz' talk about not entering the weeklies was simply to draw attention to melee, not to stop brawl. At least, I think...

If I'm missing something, fill me in, but complaining about Melee being done and still going to Brawl weeklies will not help at all. In reality, backing Brawl weeklies will only make the administration forget about Melee.

no, see.. i go to the brawl weeklies and not enter a single event. i just stay on a melee set up that attracts more and more people each time.
i've seen some of our best brawl players stay on the melee set up for a while, and one of them even saying how boring brawl has become.

Vanz, if you are trying "so hard" to get it back, why don't you do what Luck had planned all along? Why don't you talk to the owners of w2z about having a melee event on saturday, and try to get people to say they will come.
This sounds like more of an effort than just playing melee at brawl events. =/
Depending on the date, I'm the Tunes will drive up and make some noise to attract attention. With you, Tec0, and Eggm all at one tourney, I'm sure plenty of NY and other states will make an appearance. Plus Swat will undoubtedly go too, and than you have lots of competition.
I would recommend that if you do try and make this happen, that you don't go for a weekly right off the bat. Give people plenty of notice, make it big, make it count. When you get a large turnout, the rest will all fall into place. w2z will gladly host more if you can make the first one good.

i've already presented this idea, and they said that with brawl holding the friday slot, the saturday slot was given to some counterstrike league or w/e. they said it would be a while before we got a saturday and they would let me know about a date..
but i am going back tomorrow and i'm going to see if we can get something for june..

What about hosting a tourney in Jersey City. NYC players can just take the path over, no?
Tec0 once tried to hold that tourney in Jersey City, but it failed miserably. Maybe with the NYC community in the shape its in, and with a bit more effort and advertising, maybe you could give that venue another shot? The question is whether or not players would make the trip all the way there.
Also I know that for me personally (and probably many NJ smashers), I would be far more inclined to go to a tourney in jersey city cuz its just simpler as a driver. Easier to park, less toll money, less traffic, easier drive for me, etc. This would possibly pull in players from NJ, PA, and NYC if advertised properly in advance.

the place he tried was in Bayonne, a bit more transportation depending on where you are coming from.
also, the store tec0 was going to use MAYBE has 1 tv. that means the success of the tournament depends on lots of people bringing lots of set ups.
and tec0 would have to do it because he knows the owner. but with finals approaching, that's not an option.
however, I'll ask if W2Z can give us late May. don't count on it tho.
