Hbox is getting one step closer to beating Armadas young link and when it happens Armada will search for another character instead of trying to learning the puff matchup with peach.
I don't think Hbox is close at all to beating Armada's YL. He only was able to win that set because of the coaching he got from some guy (I forgot who).

idk when to use them in tournament i just do it for fun =/ In brawl i put ALL my efforts into 1 char but then after gen2 they banned him and i just didn't wanna play the game anymore
You have more time for melee now I would say so try and main someone but I still think secondaries are necessary for certain match ups. If the brawl community bans your character they don't deserve a player as good as you. I honestly think the top mk players are just better and its not just mk but I don't care about that game other then doubles since doubles is always fun.

speaking of brawl, i no longer wanna ever participate in international crew battles. USA cheered against me AGAIN vs ocean, and i lost last game last stock 130, and they talk **** to me during my games throughout all of apex. It is super disrespectful.

Japan on the other hand i love (actually most all OOC players I really respect and like), as they say i am a great player, they respect me, and they say I am their favorite and they are nice people, nothing like we are.

Peach is a great character but I cant get the hang of her maybe if i practice it a bit more but I prefer fox and marth at the moment if I improve I think those 2 cover a lot of match ups maybe mix sheik and puff in but I'm not that happy playing puff.

you can't just say that, pp and hbox (falco and puff more specifically) are my worst 2 MUs and unfortunately i always have to fight them at tournaments. i'm fine vs other ppl that play other chars usually
You definitely can be better than them (imo), but you haven't done it (yet), so how can one say that you're better than those guys.

And what do you mean "I always have to fight them", they're really good and so are you. Eventually you're going to have to play them.

I'm pretty sure everybody knows that you can be near/at the top of Melee, but you aren't because of you know what.

Btw, I lurv you, **** the URC.

i think im better overall as a overall player at the game, the same way i think that ally is a better overall player than me in brawl even when i beat him all the time because of how many chars he is like top 3 in the world with (snake/mk/falco/wario/marth?/many others). It's just my opinion; you don't have to agree with me, but im not going to say what i don't think cuz i don't like to do that

The fact that we don't know is why I say Armada is probably better.
If someone is more likely to better, then put him as better.
It's possible - very very unlikely but possible - that Joe123 is the best in the world, but just hasn't bothered to show this yet.
We must base our conclusions on the facts that we do know. The fact is that Armada has won two tournaments in a row, and Mango clearly has consistency-issues.
The only thing I had to go by was that he beat PP, and you lost to PP at Rom 4.
Oh, but here you had no problems basing things on a single set plus some Inui logic?

M2k, I'd love to see you take back the top. If brawl players are going to **** on the best player thats from their own country then they're as bad as their game is.

**** brawl, come back to melee, main fox, and show everyone that you're the best.

My point is that Armada doesn't want to learn the peach/puff match and depends on Ylink. He lost to Mango and Hbox puff if you remember correctly.

Lets look at Hax for example.

Sheik ***** Falcon yet Hax is determined to learn the match up. Then Hax beat Amsah at pound V so what are you saying. You dont see Hax picking up puff against sheik in tournaments simply because sheik ***** falcon and puff ***** sheik.

Hbox is getting one step closer to beating Armadas young link and when it happens Armada will search for another character instead of trying to learning the puff matchup with peach.
Maybe he doesn't want to learn an uphill matchup against a character he hates. YLink is still new, give it some time to see how good it can get. You don't complain about other people switching characters for different matchups, M2K "not wanting" to learn certain matchups with Marth and going Sheik instead.
Amsah sucks against CFalcon. Does Hax do well against other Sheiks? (not expecting an answer. Don't know, don't really care)

I don't mean probably better as in Armada will win 70% of the time (or whatever the number is), I meant it was I'm 70% sure that Armada is better.

If there was another tournament, I would put my money on Armada. But if Mango/Armada had a $1000 MM, I wouldn't be as sure.

I misspoke on the second one. I was also going by the fact that PP has beaten Armada in tournament before, and M2K hasn't (though he came damn close).

...from playing him?

edit: Maybe he's just especially bad vs Sheik lolz.
Maybe, that's true. But I think it probably has more to do with friendlies not meaning anything in terms of someone's level of skill.

this may sound cocky but i think overall as a player (to play all the characters in the game) I could be the best or 2nd with mango, but i can't stand practicing one character at all because i get way too bored. I spent more time on falco/peach/puff/random characters than i do with marth.

but as a tourney threat i suck because i am way too emo and underconfident. armada is no doubt the number 1 tourney threat. I'm not even threatening anymore, I'm just a stupid emo kid

It's not that you don't have the skill/experience to win the tournament, it's that you don't have the mindset to do so. Play to win of course, but don't let a loss get to you.

Why is it that after every international ever decreasing amount of people end up giving mew2king mental support?

Everyone knows M2K is tank. If he stopped playing Brawl and tied his controller to his arm he would be top tier.

Anyways I believe it's now

1) Armada

2-6) Mango, DrPeePee, Hungrybox, Javi and Mew2king.

I seperate Armada from the rest because I believe he is a step(even if it's a fairly small step above the rest) of the 2-6 group I'd say Mango is 2nd DrPP and Hunrgybox about tied(Hbox seems to have improved while PP hasn't), and Javi at least at the level of M2k. Javi could be even better than Mango, or perhaps a bit weaker than M2k, I haven't seen enough of him to make an accurate assessment. With all that in mind M2k would otherwise be the weakest of the group.

Armada may well be better than Mango, it's definitely possible, even probable.

Are we really going to judge that purely based on Genesis 2 and Apex though? Genesis 2 was SUPER close, and Mango clearly wasn't on his game at Apex (lost 3-0 to Armada, lost 3-1 to Hbox, which is uncharacteristic).
This is as hilarious as it is sad.

I feel like APEX is the tournament where friendlies were used as an indicator to show skill for a lot of stuff because we had almost no warm up on the third day and a ton of good players will tell you that the results were very screwy as a result of it. But I'll play your game and wait for Javi's next tournament. I assure you, he's not going to beat me.

More like if he fixed his ****ing attitude. There is a clear reason why Armada is number one, it's not because he is somehow magically more talented than everyone else, it's because he is determined, confident and practices daily. And those three things matter much more in the long run than just mere talent. Mango is a perfect example of a talented and unmotivated player. M2k is a perfect example of a player with horrible attitude.

I assure you, he's not going to beat me.
This is what I am talking about. Btw, congrats on your placing KK.

I can't believe ppl just put Javi in their top 5 list after one tourney...

PP can beat him

Hax, I don't know really

I'd be more patient with placing Javi anywhere after a few sets vs top players, it might just be a gimmicky playstyle and he might have trouble adapting so that he will get **** on the next time.

Note: I've never watched any of Javi's matches before Apex so I don't know how good of an adapter he is and how solid his playstyle might be.

I do love watching your Marth...
but here's the deal. If you're the best, and you think your the best then go win. If falco and puff are your worst matchups and you say you get too bored with one character than practice specifically for those matchups. Heck don't just practice to beat falco, puff, and peach. Practice to beat PP, Hbox, and Armada. I don't care if you use young link, pikachu, sheik, marth, fox, pichu, ness... just win. Those players are the only ones standing in your way, so learn how to beat them! That's what Armada did. You think your the best, so use that confidence. If you're the best, you'll win. Forget it's a tournament. All your really doing is playing a video game anyway. You're better, so win the game. Play to win. Don't blame it on matchups when you like playing various characters.

Oh and play Marth against the scrubs (like me), and forget Brawl cause they screwed you.
