he's not that far off..

he just needs to move number 8 up to number 0/1, and then make 2-6 tied.

and invent a number 9.

and scratch out kage....though i guess he should be recognized somewhere as being good...

edit: by 2-6 i mean pp, armada, amsah, hbox, and m2k. i feel that any of these players can beat each other on any given day. this may be the "top level" that pbnj was referring to. i personally don't think jman/lucky/zhu/ss are quite at this level, but i think those 4 are definitely just under it.

drpp shouldnt be above me just cuz of 1 tournament

even if he was better (I still think i might be better overall except not head to head but I don't know and don't care too much this is just what I think) he does not deserve that rank for 1 event that is unfair to my reputation to do that so fast

and mango should be 1st for at least quite a while longer then armada/hbox afterwords in some order because of their consistently good placings and accomplishments. I guess technically on tourney results he shouldn't be but I have played him personally for hours at several events and I definitely consider him the strongest overall melee player right now

1 note though is that after pound V I am retiring for a really long time until Genesis2. I don't really care much about singles anymore and the prime melee days are ending for me (i am much older than most of the community and need to move on to life stuff very soon). I may attend but I will not be playing anymore outside of tournaments after that (to focus on life stuff especially because of the removal of MLG smash is not a good way to live financially anymore and it does not seem like it will improve for me because of Nintendo's lack of support). I still haven't decided on entering P5 singles because as MLG proved if I focus on 1 game (esp if it is brawl) I can get 1st place on it easily and make a lot of money but switching games makes me a lot less money since I can't win anything so it's a hard decision. I wasn't going to enter Apex2 either just like 30 people came up to me that tournament and said they really wanted me to that's the only reason I did it.

m2k overall you are really good against Peach.
That´s a big reason why i really like to play against your Marth.
But yeah Marth and Fox is better matchups for you i guess.
your matches with him have always been amazing :)
I <3 m2k vs armada

Fun story: in relatively recent history I've beaten Zhu (3 sets in a row), Lucky, JMan (mm), Mango (hungover lol), MacD (mm), Connor (mm and tourney), Vanz (mm), Shiz, and Darkrain (three tournaments in a row no wobbling in any of them). My tournament record against Axe (where I play ICs) has been in my favor about 4 sets to 1. It really frustrates me that people just don't know any of this and completely forget about me in all kinds of discussion, not to mention also ranking those players that I beat above me as well.

If it weren't for the IC boards I'd swear nobody even remembers who the hell I am.
best.. .?

I think there was a lot of talk about Wobbles being one of the best after Apex. It just kinda died down after Tipped Off 6 where Wobbles placed disappointingly.

u cant really trip off of stuff like wobbles

even if it's true

people tend to forget easy

all it takes is videos of u beating one of those people u beat again

or getting like top 5 at a national again or something

then everybody will be pole jocking u

when ive uploaded matches of myself winning a set i always get **** like

"damn brandon u got alot better!!"
or
"waffles is getting good" like its an upset or something

even tho the person im playing ive whooped like 1000 times before or some ****

i would say the typical "who cares about what people think!" but honestly thats ur choice really

im just sayin

u just gotta brush **** like that off or............don't take it personally that people you don't know on smashboards don't rank you on their opinated top player list, u got this!

this is why threads like these are hit or miss

i think ima start writing in paragraphs

the one sentence **** takes up mad space

............nah paragraphs are whack LOL

You can never surpass the image you have of yourself esp not if you let other people get into your head man...

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you! You're better than that! I'm always gonna love you no matter what. No matter what happens. You're my son and you're my blood. You're the best thing in my life. But until you start believing in yourself, ya ain't gonna have a life.

So all M2K's post told me is I have to beat him at pound 5 to have any chance at better standing.

M2K practice this time please, I want a legit set(s, if we get to do friendlies/MMs).

If there's a Fox that can beat Armada, it's probably Mango. Lucky can't, Jman couldn't, Eggm was super close, M2K is evenish, Zgetto doesn't ever; nobody can get the job done.

that or mango can stop sandbagging and go mr try hard with fox....that **** was other worldly against armada
Mango's fox is like one of the 7 wonders of smash. I'd just like to see someone other than Mango repping Fox at that godly level. We already know he'd destroy if he wanted to.

Edit: Strawhats, I said of smash not like the real wonders of the world. Ronaldhino is very **** too.

if mango's fox is one of theseven wonders of the world then ronaldhino's futbol skills must be one of them http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k80GuGsUydA&feature=fvst

also if anyone knew m2k during 07' he was so ridiculously good with fox/marth. I wish his vids vs. lol master (Hyperbolic time training) were still up . Perfect tech skill on display. Damn youtube.

pp i dont know if im entering pound5 cuz it makes me suck at brawl but its annoying to hear (ever since 2005 people have done this to me even for some NJ power rankings) when i lose to someone once they are suddenly better. They did it with KDJ immediately, PC (sometimes), Chu occasionally, Amsah, you, Armada, Hbox, Mango, like anyone that beats me or outranks me at a big tourney even if i have a great tourney record before then is now better but I have to outplace them many times to ever be considered better and i think that's unfair

Solution: Don't play brawl at big melee tournaments.

Melee is more hype at these things anyway. Plus you got MLG and other brawl nationals going on all year where as there are only a few big melee tournaments a year. Admit it, melee is more fun/has better competition anyway.

edit: You shouldn't consider mango the best. What if people really did surpass him (its not like he's been putting in work)? Then we're giving him the top spot, just because he sandbags. What if M2K started sandbagging before we had armada, mango, and hbox stepping up? Would we call him the best just because he never tried?

I just go off what I think and any top pro will tell you mango is the best player. There is no argument right now when it's this unanimous. We all know his skill level because he's shown us before.

melee may be more fun but I think both games are fun and brawl always makes me good money. MLG showed that if i concentrate on just brawl I can have a very high chance of 1st and that helps me a lot so entering melee means i probably make less money overall since I can never win Brawl. I mainly enter for my fans

M2K you're only focusing on the negative if you think that.

A lot of these lists have me tied with you still, and rightfully so I'd say.

If you don't enter at Pound then will you at least MM/friendly me?
