Caveman: Had a great time hanging out with you, you're a cool guy and a great player.

Rest of Crystal City crew: Great fun talking to you guys and thnx for the matches/tips/etc.

Cloud: Your a cool guy. Sorry 'bout what happend, you didn't deserve any of that.. nice talking to you man.

DA Dave: You're a man of taste and you got a great sense of humor. Unfortunatly I only played one match against you.. and I was Jet-lagged at the time thus you had 2 stock left -_-

CJ: You rule at smash, your such a nice guy and our "conversation" was so much fun. Really hope to meet you again some day. ^^

Texans: Drugs are bad. Cool hanging out with you though ^^

Ratking: Sorry for beating you in the tourney, hope you don't hold grudges, had fun talking 2 you.

Matt: Thnx a lot for hosting TG, this has to go on my top 5 list of most fun events in my lifetime.

Man oh MAN . I think everyone should show respect for THE MAN . He was the most dominant force at TG6 after all. Pretty much everyone who stayed at Deezie's can confirm this. DA Dave liked it. Wes and THE MAN really should team up for the next tournie. Maybe call themselves the "Sleep Assassins" or something.

Thanks, once again to the Host with the Most, Mattdeezie. People need to realize that this guy took a week off of work to make 4 or so runs to the airport a day just to have his house absolutely trashed and crowded while organizing a huge tournament while also getting next to no sleep and still ending up about $800 in debt, (don't worry, I donated). Now that's dedication, or insanity, either one. Plus we got the neighbors mad on top of that so yeah, I really don't blame him if this is the last TG.

This was the most fun tournie I've ever been to, and I've been to some fun tournies. I was telling Matt that this seemed like the absolute fastest 5 days of my life. It was so much fun and the atmosphere at Deezie's place and the club was just so cool. And it is official, Wes and Robfalco are the funniest smashers, ever. Everything they said cracked me up. It's time for mindgames Rob. I liked it.

All of the regulars I've had the good fortune to meet before were cool as usual. Sam, Scamp, Jeremy, Adam, Vien, Eddie, the Doug, Silver, Crystal City, Mike G, Goldwing and Delani (even though they refused to talk to THE MAN) and of, course Reginald.

The new people I met were awesome as well. First off, no one tells better stories than DA Dave. Him and Wes playing Smash together is pure comedy. Teflon Climbers is the most insane person I've ever met, I'm sure he'll take it as a compliment. Mike and Jarrod from Canada were very nice and pretty cool guys, I wanted to talk and Smash with them more but they, (wisely) stayed at Isai's along with the SoCal crew. It was nice to see them all again too.

Now to the actual tournament:

First off TO EVERYONE: no johns.

I've had a good amount of respect for Azen ever since he started making his presence known. I had a feeling as the tournie went on, especially after all of these amazing upsets, (this was THE tournie of amazing upsets, in case you couldn't tell) that Azen was going to walk away with the whole thing. He did and it was well deserved. What people who weren't there don't really have the chance to understand is that there really didn't seem to be an "Us vs. Them" mentality that TG seemed to have in the last couple tournies. TG4 with NorCal vs. SoCal. TG5 was EC vs. WC. But I really didn't get the feeling that this was USA vs. Japan. CJ was extremely friendly and very funny and seemed to get along great with anyone that tried to communicate with him. People that are saying that people who were "cheering" for CJ were "traitors" are really kind of missing the vibe that I got from the tournie. Maybe it was just me. Plus, most of that clapping for CJ was due to the fact that he was holding his own against one of USA's best who was using one of the game's best characters while he used Doc Mario with style. Similar to how you have to give respect to Azen for the win, you have to give Jack the credit for his Japanese trickz.

Speaking of giving respect...who in their right minds would honestly think that ICE CLIMBERS would get 3rd place in what will probably be one of the biggest and toughest tournies in the world? Chu Dat was very cool and seemed like a nice guy. Plus he used the IC's in a way I've never seen before AND he looks quite a bit like our very own Silly Fox, so props for that too.

And of course, one of my fellow WA Peaches, Sastopher. To anyone that wasn't at the tournie, the set with second largest audience (CJ/Azen finals being first, of course) of the entire thing was Sas vs. Ken. I really like Ken and his family but I think he'd understand that myself and the rest of SKYPAL was jumping up and down when Chris won. The place erupted.

A couple more shout outs. I gotta say, I was pretty happy that Robfalco tied for 5th with Isai, I believe. He likes it. And my 2v2 partner DSF. Man, everyone has been hyping you for the last couple months and you certainly proved your worth, eliminating Ken and tieing Wes for 7th place was huge and you also deserved it. Good job to both of you.

Then we have Ken, Sam, WA's very own J-dawg, and myself all tied for ninth. I reached even beyond my own goal of getting top twenty so I was pretty happy about that.

So on the whole, this was my favorite tournie so far. Washington made a great showing with 3 in the top ten and the rest literally right behind. Got to see old friends from past tournies and got to meet a whole new bunch of really cool Smashers. I hope to see most of them again at the V-Games finals.

I was going to make a huge post telling each individual person something super neat and cool....and I started...but it was taking way too long.....so I'll just thank Matt and the rest of the crew for running a great tournament, and thank the crew of Washington for being awesome as always.

Oh yeah, just so nobody is confused, the reason I wanted Captain Jack to win the finals was because he was playing Doc (My main character), and it would have been really cool to see somebody win TG with a character that most people regard as "Average". There's no hate for the East Coast or H2YL here, just lots of love for the Doc.

Yay for TG and the Unholy Alliance of Falco and Doc! Oh and Chris, while my unique running style does negate all the air resistance from my fro, I still can't handle it if it's windy. Last time I ran in the wind...I didn't have a good time.

And Jeff is right. NO JOHNS.

sorry i posted so late but i had to say good bye to my canadians friend for the last time... or is it??

anyhow, im not a person that would do all those shout outs but i enjoyed talking to all the people at tg^. It was fun to hang out with my family and crew

i wasn't playing too well during the second day, all that was going through my head during my matches were if i were to win people were going to talk **** and if i were to lose people were going to talk **** but no johns.i have to relax while playing... I am sorry that i let all my fans down but next time ill come back better and stronger .. maybe people should start considering that marth isn't as great as they think he is...

You deserved to be disqualified cause you weren't paying attention. Its not our job to baby you guys, esepcially when we are running a 118 man tournament. Seeing how people complain after I let you still play, makes me wish I would have let him DQ you.

Also Kent doesnt play smash, he was only in a bad mood cause he doesnt get crap for helping run the tournament, and has to deal with people who run off and dont listen for their effing name.

TG7 - Resurrection

since deezie's official post, I thought I'd make mine. I will be taking over the spot as "host". Though, I agree with deezie, and a lot of the ridiculous amount of generosity will be lost by this time.

TG& will most likely be hosted in Sacramento. In the coming months, I will be looking around Sac for hotels with the appropriate accomidations: located next to/close to airport, and a convention hall that will be used to run the tournament in. This means anyone to attend will be gettin' a room.

On the bright side, if TG& gets anywhere NEAR the attendance TG^ did, usually hotels will give bulk rates when mass rooms are rented (I believe Evo 2k4 had gotten it to $80 for 3 nights for 4 people. That's $20 for the stay. Pretty **** good, if you ask me).

Secondly, donations will probably begin once I book the place, and a registration fee will be applied.

As with what deezie's doing with ^, TG& will have DVDs. I'm guaranteeing it.

Finally, donations will be going to a fund in which there's going to be about 10-12 20-25" TVs (APEX 21" TVs at a normal rate are $100. I can prolly get a deal for buying 10 somewhere. I'm going to have something standardized here). These I plan on having for more than just TG&, but I really want something a little more organized, and less "hoping" for people to bring enough TVs, figuring each out, etc., will save a lot of effort. Will definitely still want Gamecubes though.

I really want to make this live up to the TG name, and will do whatever I can to make it possible, but the hospitality TG has shown in the past probably never will be the same. Expect TG& to be some time next summer.

My friend sat right next to Captain Jack (well, adjacent to him). He said he looked down at his controller in shock when he died...other than that I don't know anything else about it. Either his controller tweaked out or he thought they needed to choose a different level like on FD.

Oh, and BBT, unless you've met THE MAN it's hard to describe him. Basically anyone who's ever met the man got a huge increase in their SSBM skills. He's better than CJ and Ken combined...he could take them both on a team against him using only Pichu. I met the man and I feel pumped up for the next tournament. Speaking of him, I need to find who brought THE MAN to TG^ and see if I can have him brought to my house, if you know what I mean.
