Textures now possible without ISO Hacking! (File Patch v3.5.1, fixes info.pac problem

Hey, I have a quick question. I'm having trouble figuring out how to have the files to run brawl+ and the files for new character textures on the same SD card. Both brawl+ and the textures work fine on their own, but a lot of the necessary files/folders are named the same thing; i.e., the codes files are both named RBSE01.gtc, the directories both start with private/wii..... Any idea how I can rename these folders so that they can both be on the SD card, but will still be read and applied correctly by Gecko OS? Anyone who knows how to do this or can help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Whoa whoa whoa. If you're gonna run brawl+ and use textures, then you only need one gct. The official build for brawl+ already has the texture code on it. Same goes for the nightly builds(also allows custom music).

you shouldn't have any duplicates. there should only be one private/wii/app/ etc


they just go in different directories inside these. >.> read the guides, people.

im having troubles getting this to work, downloaded the latest pal 4.1 code set from the official site, put the texture in the correct folder but it wont show up ingame

When I try to extract (step 1), the error I receive says "file size invalid!"

This was working for me fine earlier, I'm trying it on my friend's computer now and I can't find out which file is causing this error.

Halp me please?

Okay... on stack smash, when I click the download button for a texture, a window with text pops up.

Every time I try saving it to my computer, it gets downloaded as a text file. Is that supposed to happen?

How do I save the file as a pcs?

The problem could be that I am using a Mac. It probably doesn't download the same way that it would on a PC...

Is there anyone else that has been able to accomplish this on a Mac?

For example, I copied the 3 folders mentioned above to my SD card, but the .tga files are out in the open.
Which folder do I put them in on my SD card?

The "step 2" process of CUPASH runs smoothly, no errors whatsoever,
yet my new csp's don't show upppp.

Did you rename your common5_en.pac that is in the system folder to just common5.pac?

ok i know you can get texture codes to work with neogamma by puttin the codes folder in the neogamma folder rather than the root but is there any way to have brawl plus work withj neo gamma? i just get a green screen when i try to start...

You can still edit all 6 of his color slots with the use of the GWitizer Beta. You can find it at the Kitty Corp. forums.

If you use his Emerald Texture though, all of his color slots will be affected. Oddly enough though, the Final Smash isn't affected.

You just need a .pac for them.

You do number them, but the same texture is applied to every single costume for each so you would only have one file for each, named "FitGKoopa00.pac"/"FitWarioman00.pac".

Just download the file, make sure it's named "FitMario.pac" -- or replace Mario with the name of the character you're editing the moveset of -- and put it in the respective folder for that character.

It's only for Bowser and Wario that the PAC and PCS files are both mandatory. For Giga Bowser and Wario-Man, you only need their PAC files unless you're using any codes that let you start a match as those two.

Ah, I see. But, obviously you need the pcs and pacs for ZSS, Samus, All the pokeys and PT, etc., any character with a transformation.

you could always downgrade, i've been using 3.2 for a long time with no freezing.

it most likely won't work with custom song titles though.

Where does the game usually freeze and what hacks are you using?

Pf/Fighter/Pikachu

That red thunder is a PAL effect though, so it will make Pikachu go mute. Same for any PAL effect.

Just a few quick questions.

Do Bowser textures not work unless there's a pac file for gigabowser? It just seems like no matter what textures I try to use for him they don't work.

Can someone provide me with a relatively new .txt codeset? I don't care what's on it as long as it has textures and infinite replays. I just need a newer one since mine dates all the way back to May.

Ok so here's my question:

I downloaded some textures from stacksmash.com and got .rar files. I need to know 2 things:

1. Is that normal?

2. Is all i need to do to make them work change the file name to Fit(character Name)(number replaced).pcs/pac?

Cuz i've tried that w/ the ike textures i got and it didnt work when i tried pac (no effect) and when i tried pcs the game froze....

.rar is a compressed file format. Open the contents with a program like Winzip. Usually double clicking it will do the job, and then you can open it up.

Richard: I never tweaked the PAL texture code after I found it (made by Y.S.). I may port over the new version at some point, but I have a lot going on right now.

I have a question about replays. I saved some matches on another Wii and took the replays and put them on my own SD card. Is it impossible to get them working or do I just need to make the proper details (tags, textures, etc.)? I really want to get them working, but when I placed them in the folder "rp" i just a corrupted file message when I try to play them on Brawl. Is there a way to make this work or are these replays forever lost? Any help is appreciated.
