Actually from what I've heard melee1 isn't coming and Dojo's ride might ghey out on him... =/
Yeah i just heard melee1 isnt coming to =(

The rest of his crew is coming though, and i think with our combined effort we can fairly gauge him against everyone else we see

Where would I be on this list? I know I haven't faced all of these guys at tourneys but I think I would be included in the Top 10.

I think it's funny Mr3000 is ranked so high and he cheated to beat me in the ISP tournament. Rest of the list looks fine

Woot! 4th at HOBO with Wario!!

Gawd, HOBO was so long, but very satisfying to get that far with most of the best in Texas attending.

Also, if I get moved up into the rankings, who gets knocked off? Or do you think we should expand the rankings to like the best 15 or 20 or something?

There really shouldn't be a list with more than ten people but perhaps some sort of "notable players" list. There are a lot of players who have done pretty well in tourneys but have not attended enough tourneys to considered the best yet.

Panel should add 2 members to balance out the geographical areas.

List should move up to 15 people.

Edit - This is after some discussion with everyone at Denny's after Hobo 10.

I think I should be added for Central Texas, and maybe Dojo or Santi for Western Texas. That would get a broader panel at least geographically, and moving the rankings up to 15 people seems good as well. There are too many good players in Texas to just pick 10 and rank them. Also wouldn't be fair to knock someone off the list just cause there wasn't any room.

I agree with this.

And **** this next list is going to be hard to make.

Eh, San Angelo plays with central and eastern texas players anyways so it wouldn't matter much. We're pretty much all there is in western texas that play in the Texas competitive scene.

Honestly, me and Santi were talking about it on the trip home and both agreed that Stiltz would make a good panelist. He's a smart player. He's traveled around a fair amount. He's modest and doesn't seem biased, at all, from what we've seen. That's the best we could come up with.

As far as the top goes, it should probably be lifted to a top 15. Normally, that's pushing the limits, but as the summer passed more players have made their way up and have gotten noticed. Texas is a big state and we have a pretty large community. Anymore after 15 would be getting out of hand but it should probably be a consideration to have a top 15.

I think it should move up to 15 or 20 because Texas is so ****ing big we're like 3 states combined. Also, this last tournament showed how good some players have gotten while the others have still retained their skill.

Well I think it is clear I should be on the panel, even if it's just for geographical reasons, unless the panel needs a 5 hour discussion about whether Wario mains are manly enough to be in the group too :p

Jk jk, I have a lot of respect for everyone in the group.

I don't think you have enough experience playing against the rest of the state to be in, but I think as soon as you travel and play more then you are definitely perfect for it.

Yeah, after like..2 or 3 more tournaments that you attend out of city we will definitely need you but for now I think we are going to add just a couple other people that we need.

I think the panelists should be chose by region/exp not by skill. Players with skill should be on the actual RANKING....not panel.

Hylian and Lee Harris NEED to be on there for thier intel and the years of EXP....they got into SBR for a reason.

I run the majority of Tx tournies/pull in the most numbers and im never considered? Is it because i dont follow SBR rules? Is it because i main a low tier piece of trash samus and cant get top 4?

I have more tourney running exp than all of the panel combined, you cannot run all these events and not be considered, if so, this panel is biased and broken. I also can/have beaten very good players and yet again im not considered. Hell i get top 13 in 80% of all the tourneys i attend....all with samus. Me and seth have been here since 2002, but of the 2 he gets pick just because hes good? If the panelists and the ranking are judged off of skill, Harris needs to leave, DrMK needs to leave, fogo needs to leave........ Im not asking to be on the ranking, if a samus ever gets on this ranking then Tx doesnt have much to offer in skill. All i want is a chance to be CONSIDERED and if i dont make it, its fair and square.

This post is mainly a WTF at the panelists.

Yeah I would need 2-3 more tournaments under my belt, including at least 1 big Houston tourney where I can hopefully play some of the people from Houston that I missed this time.

Is everyone going to the Waco tourney on the 20th or the one King Mosquito is hosting?

I suggested you in the beginning, but I just think that since a few others were posting actively in this thread trying to get in to the panel that Drew decided on the ones that were posting and had reasonable qualifications. Now it is time to add more, and I definitely think you should hop on with us. I would say PM Hylian (he's kind of taken over the running of things), but I'm sure he'll read this.

We have two people from Houston already. Our panelists are spread out. The only reason I got Sethlon and Stiltz rather then you is because they have traveled more and played more of the top players, so they would be able to gauge skill better.

Running tournaments has nothing to do with the PR list honestly.

Bias is ok...As long as there is enough spread out bias.

The whole point of being on the panel is to convince others as to why so and so is qualified to be a higher ranked player than X, y or z. If you don't know anything about x,y, or z's game...why the hell are some players even on the panelist?
