Power rankings measure tournament placing and that's all, not inherent skill or whatever you're trying to get at. Nobody gets bonus points for playing low tier characters. Did anybody actually explain to Lee what power rankings are?
It's a good thing that bluezaft explained this to me. I'm so happy that someone who contributes nothing to anything can come in here and tell me all about what I should do. I know that you like to pretend like you know what's going on, but why don't you squeeze back into your little sister's jeans and go make out with your boyfriend at a Stabby Rip Stab Stab emo concert.
Even if things were done differently back in the day, all lists now (tier, PR, etc) are a mix of tournament data, potential, and observations.
Come on now, LeeHarris, I know it is always a hard position to be in to defend a Power Ranking List but no one should ever be punished for playing a certain character in regards to their placement, or lack of placement, on a PR list. There is no requirement to play a certain amount of characters to make a PR list, you should know that.
He's not punished, think of it more as I think people like Hylian have more potential because they have a greater diversity of characters with unique abilities. I don't know if I am explaining myself correctly, but either way he ended up in the exact same spot on my list as was
every other panelist.
And diminishing your argument to personal stabs and immature name calling is not giving this list the professional credibility it should have, especially for an out-of-stater like myself looking in on another states activity.
I will have a reasonable debate with anyone for any period of time necessary. I am a very cool guy and I never attack anyone. When angsty people like bluezaft act like a **** to me, however, I don't just ignore it. I post a LOT on SB (mostly in the SBR) and my posts are intelligent and thought out.
And plus, my argument didn't diminish to name calling and personal stabs. I presented my arguments and then simply responded to the first personal attack from bluezaft.
It's just a power rankings list! I've already said it's too early because tournament data is flaky and conflicts with each other (but no one listens to me unless I'm naked). You really may be the superior player, but I take cross-regional and national level tournaments more seriously than ones strictly involving one city. No one here is saying you're a bad player, and you should feel warm and fuzzy to even be on the list. The fact that everyone insisted you be on when I didn't believe so should show you that everyone is confident in your skills.
