i should be a panel guy. after all i run 80% of TEXAS tournaments and 100% of houstons.
Dallas has on average one or two tournaments a
week, ranging from 16 person biweeklies to large 60+ person tournaments. There were actually three this week, not to mention a smashfest. That makes Dallas' smash scene about 4-8 times more active than Houston's.
Not relevant to the thread, just wanted to point out that you clearly don't know what's going on outside of Houston. The Dallas scene is just plain amazing--not to mention there are plenty of people still very much into Melee.
And to AltF4: Your first PR list was made after one tournament. And I've got no problems with noobs in general, just that special kind of noob that makes all the Brawl forums a toxic swamp and thinks that making character tier lists and regional power rankings in a game's infancy are good ideas.
If the purpose of this power ranking is for people to know who the "creme of the crop" is than Hylian's post that I quoted earlier is perfect. Trying to arranging all those names in a single list is nothing more than a fabrication.
Texas is just too big for one right now. Almost zero travel (besides Hylian and DMK, and that one single elimination tournament at Akon) has occurred between the major smash scenes, so comparison is obviously impossible.
I wouldn't say anything if I thought that a Texas PR would have some redeeming value, but there is nothing to be gained that Hylian's post wouldn't accomplished. Certainly nothing worth the huge sacrifice in accuracy required to make a single list, and the stigmas that would be attached to the players involved.
