Job #151: Wishing Stars Level 2 plus SmashSpace
The player has booted up Wishing Stars and chosen their starting character to take on their journey. Having been summoned to the metaverse realm, the player found themselves in
Dairantoushi, a metropolis that serves as the hub world and something called a SmashSpace which we will explain later. We will be adding a second level that will be accessible after liberating and freeing Dairantoushi from its seedy criminal underbelly.
“Having defeated the Devil, Tokai has come to celebrate the liberation of the city and extends an invitation for both you and Dusty (the guide). He gives you keys to your own #SmashSpace which is located in the New Inn Sector. Your player retires to the #SmashSpace and ready to start your day anew.
You are jolted awake by red crimson energy that overwhelms both your character and Duster. Black and Red tendrils pulls your character (first person view) into this portal. Yanked through, you come face to face with Jenna Anderson of Astral Chain.
“Yes…you will do quite nicely. I will have your wish shards…by force is need be.”
The player slips into unconsciousness and finds themselves within the world of Astral Chain. However, to Duster’s dismay, Jena stole all of their wishing shard pieces. Duster states that prime objective is to retrieve the wishing shards and return back to Dairantoushi. Just as you are about to head out…you come face to face with someone…”
Wow…that’s a lot! So what will we be submitting? Below are three sections based on content that needs to be submitted for this job:
1) What does the Astral Chain hub world look like? When submitting content, please refer to Golisopower’s description and format for Dairantoushi. What they did was split the hub world into sections for players to explore and battle through. When providing a submission, please submit a single area for the player to play through. Please pay attention to what people submit so we don’t have double submissions of the same area.
What to submit:
Name of area in Astral Chain
What does it look like?
What crossover enemies would it have (please consult the front page on what enemies Wishing Stars and Smash
2) What fighter on the roster will players come across! For the same of crossover shenanigans, it can’t be Officer Howard. This character will be after your shards despite not having any. Defeating this opponent will allow them to be recruited to your team but only if you fulfill a Wish Quest! This is an activity that is molded around the character where the player must fulfill a requirement needed to recruit the player to their team. Failing to do so may result in losing the ability to recruit them. This will impact the game later. The more quests you complete, the stronger you are at the end.
What to submit?
Character
What’s their Wish Quest
For an idea of a Wish Quest, one such idea would be for Yoshi which is eat 100 food and report their flavor to him. Or for Little Mac, create a Wishing Star that levels up your strength by 4x temporarily. Don’t use that Wishing Star and, instead, bring it back to him.
3) Going back to Dairantoushi, we will begin building up our own “home”, SmashSpace! This is a lofty loft in the residential side of Dairantoushi where you can decorate, display, and arrange any collectables upu collected in both Wishing Stars, Classic Mode, Smash Dungeon, or really any other mode! This can be accessed on the main menu screen after booting the game up but only until you finish the first level of Wishing Stars. This is also an online area where visitors, in the form of character sprite, can come and visit.
The view is top down in an art style that’s similar to both Super Mario RPG, 64-era Harvest Moon, and Link’s Awakening Remake. Players can add furniture, items, trophies, collectables, and more as well as floor and wall coverings. Some potential ideas could be a Msuhroom Couch, Master Sword Pedestal, Chozo Statue, Flower Lamp, Treehouse Flooring, and Shadow Moses Wallpaper.
What content can be submitted? Anything that can be placed within a medium sized space that is derived from a series that’s repped by a fighter or a stage.
What do you need to include for submissions?
- Name of the Item
- Series
- Size
- too big of items takes up too. 1 is small, and 5 is the largest. Doesn’t apply to floor and wall coverings
- What function does it have?
- If you have an item that you aren’t sure fits in what we are looking for, please ask.
