What's the difference between "Costume Swap" that's being held off until next Halloween Festival and the current costumes we're submitting now?
Character cosplay outfits. Peach in a Mario outfit, IKe in Black Knight armor, etc.

god DAMNIT!,really that need to repeat the past festivals?
Ummmm….that’s really an over-exaggerated response. Like, this is all just for fun. Also, the past winter festival focus was Christmas. This year is New Years. Next years Halloween will have cosplay outfits of our roster. And summer has yet to be decided but I’m thinking a Japanese festival vibe.

So we will be doing one more Halloween submission along with starting our first anniversary round off. The Halloween job will be….. scary I think. I’m worried about how people will respond to it as it might be content not originating in video games but has a presence there.

We will be closing submissions in a little bit. We will finish off the last of the Halloween jobs and, well, it should be ending rather spectacularly. It's going to change Smash speculation forever and will have lasting impact on what Smash fans consider as future possibilities.

Submit a Mii Costume Based on a Popular Horror Movie

Yes, we are finally dipping into content that isn't straight from video games though, currently, it is just Mii Costumes. This is still a big moment in history in that the line between video game content and non-video game content is blurred. We will have to tread lightly though and ensure this is NOT a thing that is done often. We will be including two Mii Costumes that are from a popular and iconic horror movie is is internationally known. Please do not submit niche horror movie characters. In addition, this character MUST be included in a video game in some way shape, or form within modern gaming. Since we are purchasing the rights to this Mii Costume, we have to ensure we get a return by purchases to get the costume as it will be very expensive with in-game money. When submitting, please provide the following information:

  • Name
  • Franchise
  • Class
  • How the weapon may be changed
  • Why should this Mii Costume be included? What makes it iconic within the Horror genre? Furthermore, this will be our first non-video game Mii Costume to be included so this will set a precedent. Why does it deserve this distinction?
  • What was the game it appeared in?
The bottom 2 are very important so please include that

Next, we will be moving into our Year One Anniversary Festival and we will begin by submitting a stage...

Submit a Stage from a Nintendo 64 Game
We are going back to the world of Nintendo 64 since that is where Smash first made its debut. While all of Smash will be celebrated in this Festival, special care will be made to represent the Nintendo 64 era in this festival with some changes being made during this 3-week long festival. The stage can be the first party and the third party and can be from a franchise represented in Smash. That being said, we will be including a new character in this festival and this stage will NOT serve as a companion representative with that character meaning that the franchise we go along with will not be allowed to get a new character. We will be accepting more than 1 stage as a winner. It can't be from a Smash 64 stage as those are already in.

When submitting, please provide the following information:

  • Name and Series
  • Stage Appearance
  • Stage Gimmick/Mechanics
  • Stage Hazzards
  • Stage Cameos
  • Battlefield/Omega Layout
  • Furthermore, why should this stage be considered to represent the Nintendo 64 era of Smash?

Mii Brawler: Xenomorph

I believe Alien should make it in not just because it's an iconic monster, but also because Japan likes it too, being referenced in places like My Hero Academia, and having entire games with the Alien name developed by Japanese developers. In fact, not only has Akira Toriyama stated that Alien inspired Frieza's third transformation for Dragon Ball Z...but Ridley was named after the creator of the Alien movies, Ridley Scott...which also became a major influence on the Metroid series as a whole.

Nintendo 64 Stage:
1704512051937.png

Planet Clancer
Series: Mischief Makers

Planet Clancer is the main setting for Mischief Makers, a 2.5D platformer for the N64 when the rest were going all-in on the 3D. It's more puzzle-oriented and exploration-based, and only uses the D-pad and not the analog stick for gameplay.

In Smash, Planet Clancer is a fairly large stage with three Battlefield-sized main platforms made from the blocks you see in the image above, sporting different colors. Scattered in between them are Clanballs that fighters can auto-grab on contact to jump towards either a platform or a fighter. Alternatively, there are Warp Stars that players can touch to instantly teleport to a platform.

Ash Williams (Gunner)

Portrayed Expertly by Bruce Campbell, Ash Williams is the main character of the Evil Dead series

Evil Dead has had many games in the past most recently there were his appearences in Dead By Daylight, The Evil Dead Game and Fortnite

But also there were games from the past like Evil Dead: Regeneration, Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick, Evil Dead: Hail To The King and even a Commodore64 game

For his Mii Costume the gun would be his Iconic Chainsaw Arm

MII costume -
Michael myers (MII swordfighter)
Fortnite-Myers-cb6f1db.jpg

Feel like this is one of the most basic and simple picks you will ever get out of a group of horror icons but it still works pretty well

The MII would be rocking the signature michael myers mask for their face maybe the most recent since you know recency bias and all that (hell maybe you could even make all of the masks from the halloween series usable head gear for your MII for extra fan-service) and his attire that he normally wears (kind of helps that michael is just a very very srong dude with normal clothes on) and also makes sense for him to be a swordgifhter because you know his main weapon other then sometimes using hands is his signature knife

Hes also highly influencial in the world of horror movies and horror media in general hell most slasher films released after the immense sucess of the og halloween movie were made to ride of the sucess of halloween

nintendo 64 stage -
The garden (buck bumble)
the stage would start in the first image where you could first see the herd and the resistance first figthing in the background while you fight in the platform bumblebee is standing and it would transform into other areas over time

Mii Costume: Sadako Yamamura (The Ring) (Brawler)

Sadako_Yamamura_in_Ringu.png

Sadako is the main villainess from Ring series, she is a vengeful ghost who went murded and thrown on a well to be drowned, and her curse becamed on a video tape where who watch the video tape,Sadako comes out the TV.

While you guys chose an american horror movie character,i chose a character who is japanese as Smash Bros. was created who is Smash is a japanese series, for make sense.

Sadako is very iconic character that she popularized a trope of Ghost Girl with Long Hair, about the games, one of most known is Sadako in Dead By Daylight and there are games from Ring series who are The Ring: Terror's Realm and Ring Infinity.

N64 stage: Atlantis Realm (Glover)

A semi-submerged stage with Roman influences. Since the water is so shallow, it cannot be swam in nor does it change friction at all. A competitive play stage with a similar layout to the game section of the FNAF stage (albeit much smaller) - a flat platform with a soft platform above that is longer.

Just wondering since we're getting non-gaming mii costumes now for horror movies. Is it possible we'll get mii costumes for anime/manga characters as well in the future?

Anyways here's mines.

Mii Costume: Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) for Mii Swordfighter

Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th in Freddy vs Jason

One of the most famous horror movie characters next to Freddy Krueger. Known for having an iconic franchise that spawns many sequels and keeping the slasher genre alive it is it even to this say. So he is quite influential. Had appeared in tons of games in the past such as his own NES game and Mortal Kombat 10. The Mii Swordfighrer will be wearing his raggy clothing, wearing the hocky mask, and of course holding a machete to slice down his victims.

Horror Costume
nightmare-on-elm-street-movies-in-order-index-1632944846.jpeg

Freddy Kruger (Nightmare on Elm Street)
The springwood slasher and haunter of children's nightmares. Freddy is a pretty iconic horror character with a recognisable design. He has a great personality, and we could even do a fun promo to announce the costume. He has appeared in both Mortal Kombat and Dead By Daylight. This costume would gIve players his hat, jumper, pants and glove it's a brawler costume. Also we'd have two costumes based on iconic horror Freddys.

N64 Stage
Oedo_castle.png

Oedo Castle (Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon)
I know Goemon isn't a franchise that started out on the N64. But I feel like it's a pretty well known game for the platform. This stage is based on the opening area from game and is a traditional Japanese castle. It's a mutli-layered stage with three floors you can jump between. You can also see outside of the castle and the town below, but can't be accessed . There are pots that can be broken to get items and some of the rooms has water. Goemon and his friends make cameos on the stage and the Goemon robot appears in the background.

It will need to feel organic and not forced. This feels organic as it’s on par for the theme but also nearing the end of year 1 which changes the entire playing field a bit. This is going to be harder on the future. For example, I can see people speculating Elsa appearing as a Mii Mage outfit for our winter festival or perhaps Will Ferrel’s Elf lol. It needs to be sporadic and organic. But getting an anime costume would be hilarious but, my guess, we might need to change the speciation game even more for that anime character Mii costume

I think it should be themed (Christmas or winter characters for that season, maybe we could do a superhero or space themed season with appropriate guest costumes) but will these be the only fourth party content we get? I know we've been talking about a fourth party characters since base game

Ghostface (Scream) (Mii Swordfighter)

Scream_03-1c6647feac364a8e89598b9fbb7897c8.jpg

Scream is a franchise that revitalized the horror genre in the 1990s. Thus, why don't we make the first non-video game Mii costume a character who shaped the genre like it is today in the form of a Ghostface Mii costume? Ghostface has appeared in video games such as Dead by Daylight, various Call of Duty games, and even as a free playable skin in Among Us. The Mii fighter will simply gain Ghostface's mask, gloves, and his knife as a sword. Ghostface is iconic and will make a fun costume for sure, especially with a seventh Scream film coming out very soon so....promotional content, much?

Nintendo 64 Stage

Silicon Valley (Space Station Silicon Valley)

sc89zh.png
Unknown.jpeg
ce47fe20-2dd0-46f3-a806-10be6e562662_512x380.jpg

This is a traveling stage that takes you across the four environments of the space station, Silicon Valley being Euro Eden, Arctic Kingdom, Jungle Safari and Dessert Adventure. I can envision the layout of the stage being similar to the Star Fox stages in Smash but with various hazards. There will be platforms also in each section based on where you are.

Each section has different hazards such as Euro Eden having not much but the animals there, Arctic Kingdom having snow falling from the sky causing fighters to freeze, Jungle Safari having various animals giving you items or attacking you, and Dessert Adventure having sandstorms. The various characters from Space Station Silicon Valley appear alongside Evo (the main character) cheering you on.

I simply feel Space Station Silicon Valley should be a stage representing the Nintendo 64 era due to it being an underrated classic on the console alongside the game being distinctively unique for its sense of British humor, innovative level design, and by many review sites, one of the most original games on the Nintendo 64. If you know the fan mod for Smash 64 titled Smash Remix, I'm surprised we do not have any Space Station Silicon Valley content in that mod. However...in Super Smash Bros Infinite: Beyond, it has its shot of being represented. Sure, EVO wouldn't get in as a fighter but a stage would work best as the game had some pretty awesome levels.

The Battlefield and Omega forms will simply have the stage designed to be their form but the stage's platforms will change design based on the area you are in. There will be no hazards in the Battlefield/Omega forms of this stage at all.

To everyone, I forgot to mention that the stages we are submitting for the Nintendo 64-related games replicate the graphics of that era. I am not sure if this will affect your decisions so, if it does, feel free to resubmit. We are also getting A LOT of 3rd Party games so, most likely, we will do a first-party round as well. That was probably the best option at first.

Demogorgon
Stranger Things

While the Stranger Things series isn't your typical "slasher horror film", it can still be considered part of the horror genre in the same vein as Aliens and Predator. The Demogorgon was the first villain of the series but certainly not the last and, eventually, ended up becoming one of the grunts within the greater army. That being said, the creature has come to represent Stranger Things and its twisted, sci-fi side and the antithesis of the heroes. In terms of Mii Fighters, the Demogorgon is a Mii Brawler and is a Deluxe Mii meaning it covers the entire body of the Mii Fighter.

Nintendo 64 Stage

DataDyne Rooftop
Perfect Dark

This would be a rather straightforward stage. It is centered at the top of the DataDyne HQ which is the first level of the acclaimed game, Perfect Dark, which was the spiritual successor of Goldeneye which revolutionized first-person shooters. The stage is set up in a fairly straightforward manner with a center flat area with two "outcrops" on either side followed by ledges. These outcrops can be bypassed by simply walking along the main platform but can be jumped onto the second-level platform. These seem to be used for helicopters as they have a H sign on them. In the background is the DataDyne symbol which lights up; growing in intensity throughout the match. In the background are searchlights that can go back and forth.

Occasionally, a Hovercopter approaches will fire upon characters which can deal high damage. This Hovercopter will appear above the DataDyne symbol in the background but will also appear to the right or left; away from the ledge. Because the Hovercopter has downward-facing rotors, players can jump onto the Hovercopter's roof for an extra moving platform. The Hovercopter will strafe from the left to the right several times before departing. The Hovercopter can be brought down by attacks.

The Omega and Battlefield variations utilize the architecture and materials of the DataDyne building along with the symbol and search lights but not the hovercopter which is still visible in the far distance.

This stage is available in Smash Remix

Here is a playthrough

Ghostbusters is one of the biggest pop culture franchises associated with Halloween, spanning multiple films, games, cartoon shows, comics, etc. The iconic suit would be instantly recognizable to many audiences and would bring in a lot of hype. The Luigi's Mansion series is also heavily inspired by this franchise, so there's also a Nintendo connection there. They also have the super iconic theme song that is played at nearly every Halloween Party.

Wave Race

Wave Race 64 is one of the best selling games on the platform (that isn't 4th party or already represented in Smash by a stage or playable character), with a dedicated fanbase. This stage would take place on a tropical beach, with racers zipping by on their watercrafts occasionally, knocking unlucky players into the water.

I love this idea. When I was preparing it, I for sure had a Ghost Busters costume in mind when preparing it. That along with Freddy Krueger, Alien, and Predator.

Dude, this reminds me, the Japanese version of the Ghostbusters 2 game for the NES was such a banger.

Thank you for submitting Horror Movie Costumes and an N64 Stage! Here are our submissions both in quoted and listed form:

Mii Costume:
Super Smash Bros. Infinite Beyond

View attachment 382584

View attachment 382589

N64 Stage
View attachment 382594
Oedo Castle (Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon)
I know Goemon isn't a franchise that started out on the N64. But I feel like it's a pretty well known game for the platform. This stage is based on the opening area from game and is a traditional Japanese castle. It's a mutli-layered stage with three floors you can jump between. You can also see outside of the castle and the town below, but can't be accessed . There are pots that can be broken to get items and some of the rooms has water. Goemon and his friends make cameos on the stage and the Goemon robot appears in the background.

Mii Costume

Ghostface (Scream) (Mii Swordfighter)

View attachment 382607

View attachment 382608View attachment 382609View attachment 382610

Ghostbusters (Gunner)

View attachment 382623

Ghostbusters is one of the biggest pop culture franchises associated with Halloween, spanning multiple films, games, cartoon shows, comics, etc. The iconic suit would be instantly recognizable to many audiences and would bring in a lot of hype. The Luigi's Mansion series is also heavily inspired by this franchise, so there's also a Nintendo connection there. They also have the super iconic theme song that is played at nearly every Halloween Party.

Stage

We will be moving into a newcomer submission round. We have yet to do a discussion about this character and that was intended. I still have yet to write it up but it will be first party just to let you know.

Newcomer First-Party Submission

Please read this post carefully. We will be submitting a character for our Year One Anniversary. While this may not be the most "fun" submission, I think it is warranted considering Infinite nor Infinite Beyond added a character like this in the past. In addition, considering development time, this seems like a logical step.

We will be submitting a first-party newcomer character that follows the following set of criteria:
  1. From a currently represented series by a character
  2. Semi/Psuedo/Near-Echo
    1. Is an alternative representation of a previously included character (i.e. Young Link, Toon Link, Pichu, Dr. Mario, etc).
    2. Is a character that is similar to the parent character but is an entirely different character entirely (Isabelle is an example)
  3. That character and the parent character MUST be from the same series
  4. The character MUST be from a video game and cannot be a different incarnation of that character from other media
The character will be a semi-clone with different stats and a few different moves such as Specials and a Final Smash but should share with their parent character.

The following series are exempt from inclusion:
  • Star Fox
  • Pokemon
  • Pikmin
  • Sin & Punishment
If you need to know if someone is submittable, please ping me or you can check our content on the front page. Anything included as NEW content in Infinite Beyond cannot be included.

When submitting, please provide the following information:
  • Name and series
  • Parent character
  • Explanation of the character and why this character should be included
  • Some ideas on how this character would differ from their parent character

Squid Sisters (Splatoon)

File:Splatoon Squid Sisters 3D.png

The Squid Sisters make their Smash Bros debut! Splatoon is an enormous series for Nintendo now that more than warrants a new character. The Squid Sisters have been major characters throughout the whole series, taking active story roles through all 3 games in the series, and appearing as the hosts in the first game, being the first characters that would greet the player every time the game was turned on. With their moveset's loosely based on the Inkling and Octoling, they would be perfect for an Isabelle type semiclone, being able to use a wide variety of weapons and moves that aren't currently represented in the former two's movesets. They would also function as a duo character, similar to the Ice Climbers and XB3 duo. Overall, the Squid Sisters would be a perfect fit for a semiclone character in Smash Infinite, due to the massiveness of their series, their massive roles within their series, and their large fanbase they have gathered through the series lifespan.

Small question

Will there ever be a chance for a non Paldea Pokémon being included?

Cause I’m honestly tired of that franchise being excluded from the DLC prompts, and the fact that the franchise is excluded again is not sitting right for me

Funky Kong (Donkey Kong) (Semi-clone of Donkey Kong)

donkey-kong-funky-kong.png.gif

This prompt was pretty hard to come up with a newcomer for. Thus, I decided to go with the cool uncle with a knack foe surfing, Funky Kong! He's been a mainstay in the Donkey Kong games and appeared in a few Mario spinoff titles so he's got quite some experience in crossovers. He will be a semi-clone of Donkey Kong but have some different specials such as his Up Special or Side Special having to deal with surfing, one move invloving his plane, etc.

I feel with the whole internet culture around the "Funky Mode" meme, him being added to the last wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC alongside the new Donkey Kong Country theme park expansion at Universal Studios Japan's Nintendo Park, a Donkey Kong character feels...kind of right and exciting to add right now to generate hype.

It's because Pokemon was included in the launch content and, considering it's been a year, it's still not eligible. Star Fox and the rest including Sonic and Halo are in similar situations. As a thread, we can revisit these franchises down the road for newcomers but it is more sensible to focus submissions in other areas that may need a newcomer. In addition, Pokemon tends to not include newcomers from older generations and I intend to continue that tradition UNLESS we go the route of, like, a Black/White remake type idea. I understand you like Pokemon and want to include Pokemon but that is not the direction the thread is moving at the moment. If we include a Pokemon-related festival, then maybe but that is a big maybe. It depends on the timing and spacing of our newcomers. I just can't open things up and bend rules around just so Bowserking can submit a Pokemon - it's not done out of spite. It's trying to bring forth on theme submissions that help create a diverse and expansive roster that focuses on various areas - not just one area to cater to one person. I hope that makes sense.
