In addition, we will need to set a time for FnaF music. Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario can shed some light on this as his initial concept was music plays during a brief part of the actual stage which, is fine albeit a bit strange and perhaps unrepresentative of the franchise. I am not sure what we would go with in terms of music .... like if it would be just snippets of a song that plays on this particular part of the stage. Also, it wouldn't be fair for FnaF to not have representative music but, hey, I suppose it's ok to play FnaF music on stages like Luigi's Mansion.,

When you use stage morph in SSBU, the second stage's song doesn't start at the beginning, but rather the point where the song loops - that was my intention with the FNAF music.
What is the estimated time duration of this "in-between phase"?

I know we are submitting content currently but I do want to open up discussion about our content for the past “in-game” year.

I have a couple of questions for people to answer based on how they would perceive the reactions of fans:
1) How do you feel people would react to the two new Mii Fighters plus Shantae being, thus far, our only newcomers after nearing a year after the game released? To put it into perspective, Cloud was released little over a year after 4 released and, by Ultomate’s 1 year, we had everyone in Pass 1 except Byleth.

2) Do you think people would be content starved by then?

3) How do you feel people would be like moving into our Halloween festival, after Shantae, and not getting a newcomer?

4) How would you feel people would be like if we have a one year anniversary event and no newcomers.

5) How would speculation be after Shantae?

6) Do you think people are burnt out on content like collectibles and would rather want more substantial content. Like newcomers and stages?
Not sure it was too late for this but thought id share my opinion anyway.

I do think people would now expect a newcomer though every so often & if we go too long they may get frustrated & blame the other content.

Believe it or not had a wii release. Probably not a good fit for Smash honestly but the only idea i came up with that i thought would stand out so thought id give it a shot. Imagine this being marketed as more of a Rockstar Games rep since series itself is inactive.

Based on the great old one form Lovecraft's stories. Your mii will gain and a hat based on the squid face of the sleeping giant and a full body suit with wings and claws. This is a brawler costume.


Elster
The main character of the extremely well received indie survival horror game Signalis. The game is a top down shooter inspired by games like Resident Evil and drawing heavily from space horror and the works of HP lovecraft, and was acclaimed for being a scary but moving queer horror story. Elster is a robot known as a Replika unit in the far future, who awakens on a ship in deep space and must find her human partner, Ariane, while discovering the dark secrets of the ship. I think another Indie costume make a a lot of sense. This would be a gunner costume that gives you her hair, nose thing, body suit and gun. I think it would be cool if the costume looked like the games artsyle

I know nothing about this series but I always felt this guy had a really cool design. This is a swordfighter costume that uses his book as a blade. The costume gives your mii today's head, complete with eyepatch and gold teeth, his rippped costume, and some robot legs that have been tweaked to fit a mii

Sorry, I was typing that while busy with something so I had tons of typos.

Typically, no. I should have mentioned the PS content rule but, considering the lack of notable horror games on the Nintendo consoles, I was more open to allowing for content that isn't on a Nintendo system. Please do not just assume that PS/XBox content is open for ALL submissions. I will try to make sure to let people know if Playstation content is viable but, as a rule of thumb, it won't be ok for Characters and Stages. I don't spend much time planning on the rules for the jobs as I have done in the past. Not due to a lack of rules or interest but just time and general forgetfulness. I can barely remember what I did a few days ago as of late so I need to write everything down.

I should have declined Ellie from Last of Us. That was on me but I missed that submission until I started collecting them and I didn't want to outright decline something right when we were about to vote. If I intend to allow Playstation/XBox content, I will make sure to let you all know for characters and stages.

I generally don't care for PS content in Smash either, but I submitted it specifically because of the prompt itself and how well it fit. The series itself is so big in the gaming sphere, especially with the TV show spreading the series to even non gamers, and the fact we already added Ratchet and Master Chief (as well as Kratos Mii Costume), I figured if any other series warranted to be an "exception" alongside them, it was The Last of Us, and a Mii Costume was relatively small and harmless compared to a character or stage.

I most likely won't be submitting any more PS/Xbox exclusive content for the foreseeable future (unless a job calls for it), it was just because of the specific prompt that I carved out an exception and the prestige of the series itself and how much impact its had. (Much like how we voted in Halo earlier on).

I mean it's popular enough that even Sakurai did a video on it on his Youtube channel (yes I know he does videos of lots of non Nintendo stuff and this isn't actually indicative of the series being added to Smash yada yada, but it still shows the popularity of the series).

That is also me not being thorough. I used to plan a lot for each job and I do for bigger job submissions but I haven't as of late. I have an idea of what we will include but, beyond that, I don't prepare as often as I did before. That's partially due to my lack of time but also the persisting issues I am experiencing as of late. My short-term memory, to me, is going and I can barely remember what I did the week before or even days before so I have to write it down. But sometimes I lose that or forget the file name so....yeah...

Submit a Boss
We will be submitting a new boss that will be accessible to battle on Easy, Medium, Hard, or Intense levels during the Festival and will be approachable in the hub world in the boss area. So basically, you can approach this Boss in the hub world. That being said, the boss should be large enough that people will be able to approach and see it. While a "scary" boss is preferrable, I am not restricting it solely to horror games. And, to cover my bases, it needs to be a boss from a game that has appeared on the Nintendo consoles.

A Halloween tradition now lost to time due to a cataclysmic event ages ago (COVID LOL). The Mii will take a large roll of toilet paper and throw it with all their strength. The trail it leaves behind will linger for a minute before it vanishes.

Manus, Father of the Abyss (Dark Souls)

An optional boss debuting in the DLC for the first Dark Souls, Manus was once a man, now morphed into an abomination from his Humanity going wild within the Abyss. In Smash, the players fight in a pure, pitchblack environment save for the rocks below.

Manus attacks with one of the following:
  • Manus will wind up and track the player's position before smashing his arm in either close- or far-range for 11.5% damage and medium knockback.
  • If the player stays behind him, Manus will swipe his arm behind him, dealing 8% damage and medium-to-low knockback as he turns around.
  • If the player remains airborne for too long or too frequently, Manus will perform an uppercut that deals 14% damage and deals medium-to-high knockback.
  • Manus will occasionally leap forward and smash his catalyst into the ground for 9% damage and dangerously-long hitstun. His is usually followed up with an arm slam.
  • Manus will fire a cone of pure Abyss in front of himself that deals a total of 15% damage and low knockback, leaving the player open to the uppercut.
  • Manus will channel his power and rain balls of pure Abyss from the top of the screen, each orb dealing 5% and weak knockback.
  • Manus will shoot orbs of Abyss from his staff and converge them onto the player's position with more precise tracking. This deals a total of 20% and is near-guaranteed to kill, but the player can dodge easily.
As an added bonus, if you manage to strike Manus's Catalyst enough times, it'll drop as an item for the player to use, disabling all attacks where Manus uses the Catalyst for the rest of the fight. If the player picks up the catalyst, their Special attacks will take 4 extra frames of start-up but will deal double damage and knockback.

Resubmitting Moebius D & J for the boss

Moebius D & J (Xenoblade 3)


Phase 1 has them separated, You fight D Or J for the first 1/4 of their health and the other for the next 1/4th

D will attack with his blades and is a much more physical fighter, and has a few abilities
Unstoppable Spear - D throws an energy spear at a player, this Spear deals fire damage over time
Grim Rush - D slashes downwards and anyone hit is trapped in a multi hit combo
Chaos Arch - D will Dash across the stage dealing damage to anyone in his path
Dread Edge - D throws an exploding projectile forwards

J will attack with his fists and jumps and has different abilities
Brave Hand - J Leaps Forwards slamming his hand on the ground and this produces a shockwave on the ground.
Incarceration - J will spin around moving across the ground and end by clapping his hands together
Healing Light - J will start to heal himself but this can be interrupted by dealing big damage

Regardless of which one is attacking J will also use
Decoy Soul - An ability that summons a mini clone of D or J which performs much weaker and smaller moves than their bigger counterparts and can be KOd early
Before the second phase, J will detonate any remaining clones.





Phase 2 has them Interlink. This is activated at half health

They essentially act as a faster and more powerful D with some new abilities

D & J has all of D's abilities but are more powerful
D & J Also gain
Doom Rain - D & J jump in the background and summon a volley of projectiles onto the stage
Beyond Death - D & J float and slash forward with an energy Sword
Sanguine Fire - D & J only use this when they have a quarter health left, this just increases their speed

They are fought in the Cloudkeep from Xenoblade 3 at night (basically a snowy stone platform above the clouds)

Boss: Sans (Undertale)

Yep, that's right. It's the most popular character from Undertale himself. Sans the Skeleton. Why him as a boss? Well, his genocide boss fight is what skyrocketed him and the game itself into high popularity to the point even Sans had appeared as a mii costume for Smash Ultimate thanks to requests of wanting to see him in Smash.

So I personally think him being a boss would make more sense rather then being an playable character. Plus, he's a skeleton. So he sorta fits with the Halloween Festival. How would be approached exactly? Well it varies on the difficulty. When you approach him in the hub (also there would be a big spooky shadow of a seemly giant boss outside or near the boss area only to just see its Sans there. If he was pranking the players.) He carefreely just advise to fight him on Easy and just have a good time.

If you do fight on Easy. He would be lazy as ever. With having little HP and standing there. He would just throw slow-moving bones at you which only deal with one damage. When hit once. He'll just fall asleep and let the fighter take a easy win. If you were to fight him on Medium, he would put just a little effort by having the bones move slightly faster and even dodge attacks about 5-10 times but it's basically the same results as fighting him on Easy. However, if you wish to fight him on Hard or Intense. Sans on the HUB will warn the player that they will be having a bad time if they do this. If they choose to do so anyways, Sans will close his eyes and opens them empty, significantly that he's no longer gonna hold back.

Once fighting him on Hard or Intense. Sans become way harder to deal with as the boss becomes more accurate to his Genocide Boss fight. With his attacks having little to no lag.
  • Bones now move way faster now coming in forms of summoning off multiple bones from the ground in forms of danmaku attack patterns, hitting the fighter with not just one damage per a millisecond but poisons them as well damaging the fighter by 4-5 percent.
  • Sans can use Telekinesis to turn the fighter blue briefly before slamming him down. Even worse if there is an bone in the way
  • Sans also will finally unleash Gaster Blasters upon the fighter which does more damage with poison. Just like in the game, the fighter will now need to try attack and make Sans dodge 22 times before he beats you with enough damage.
  • Sans can also teleport by making the screen go black for one second before unleashing an upcoming bone attack pattern at the fighter. This can happen multiple times if Sans were to dodge least 10 times.
Once, Sans had to dodge the fighter's attacks 22 times. He would use one last attempt the finish off the fighter by unleashing an wave of Gaster Blasters coming across the stage for about 20-30 seconds before slamming them to the ground with his telekinesis, no longer able to fight anymore thanks to him getting tired. Allowing the fighter to finally attack him and defeating him in one attack. If playing on intense, Sans will try to keep the fighter in place with his telekinesis hoping the player will give up but he would fall asleep later, allowing the fighter to finish him off.

Generally, this is the best I can come up with for an Sans boss fight in Smash. Maybe some may still prefer to him being a playable character but I think what I come up can offer an good challenge to any player wanting to face his boss on high difficulty. Of course, the stage of this battle happens at the Judgement Hall from Undertale.

Not sure if we have any content from this game. Character is a fan favorite & we could maybe have Hat Kid in the background if it would be too weird to exclude the protagonist of the game.

Attacks
-Summons hazardous rings the will expand across the stage.
-Summons invincible minions who will chase player & do damage on impact.
-Summons different rings that explode & do damage upward instead of a across.
-Summons a fake clone on the opposite end of the stage, after which both will charge towards fighter
-Throws several blue potions towards fighter

A gimmick here will be the blue potions. On higher difficulties players will start out doing minimal if any damage but the potion attack will leave one behind allowing the player to throw it at Snatcher covering him & allowing the player to do more damage the more he is covered in blue similar to the ink mechanic of Inkling.

I know there a lot of heated debate around the potential inclusion of this particular horror icon but I think this is a fitting role for him. The fighter will appear inside the town of Silent Hill itself, in front of the school, before fog fills the stage and static sound effect plays, much like the first encounter with the infamous Red Pyramid Thing in Silent Hill 2. He will walk forwards and attack. He is slow and strong, he will slice with his blade and throw it around and slam it down, and will also summon chains and cages that can trap the fighter in place. His theme plays during the battle.

Behemoth
Final Fantasy

Behemoth is an iconic monster from Final Fantasy who boasts tremendous power and strength in battle. It is capable of extremely powerful attacks and will alternate between a quadrupedal to bipedal stance with the quadrupedal being element attacks and bipedal being melee attacks. When on all fours, it unleashes the following attacks:

Flare (A powerful fire spell similar to Sephiroth's attack with more radius)
Thundara (A powerful attack similar to Pikachu's Thunder. It has a gravity pull that brings players in before striking.)
Tornado (Generates an area-wide tornado that sucks in opponents and deals multiple hits of damage.)
Mighty Guard (Erects a shield that protects it from all attacks for a small moment.)

When bipedal, it will attack using strong slashes with its arms, charges, and will use Hurl which will launch the opponent into the air.

During the battle, it has a meter which, when it is filled up, summons Meteor. This causes multiple meteors to strike into the stage which causes massive amounts of damage and functions similar to a Final Smash. It will 100% happen once during a match but can happen more than once.

Manus, Father of the Abyss (Dark Souls)

An optional boss debuting in the DLC for the first Dark Souls, Manus was once a man, now morphed into an abomination from his Humanity going wild within the Abyss. In Smash, the players fight in a pure, pitchblack environment save for the rocks below.

Manus attacks with one of the following:
  • Manus will wind up and track the player's position before smashing his arm in either close- or far-range for 11.5% damage and medium knockback.
  • If the player stays behind him, Manus will swipe his arm behind him, dealing 8% damage and medium-to-low knockback as he turns around.
  • If the player remains airborne for too long or too frequently, Manus will perform an uppercut that deals 14% damage and deals medium-to-high knockback.
  • Manus will occasionally leap forward and smash his catalyst into the ground for 9% damage and dangerously-long hitstun. His is usually followed up with an arm slam.
  • Manus will fire a cone of pure Abyss in front of himself that deals a total of 15% damage and low knockback, leaving the player open to the uppercut.
  • Manus will channel his power and rain balls of pure Abyss from the top of the screen, each orb dealing 5% and weak knockback.
  • Manus will shoot orbs of Abyss from his staff and converge them onto the player's position with more precise tracking. This deals a total of 20% and is near-guaranteed to kill, but the player can dodge easily.
As an added bonus, if you manage to strike Manus's Catalyst enough times, it'll drop as an item for the player to use, disabling all attacks where Manus uses the Catalyst for the rest of the fight. If the player picks up the catalyst, their Special attacks will take 4 extra frames of start-up but will deal double damage and knockback.

Boss: Sans (Undertale)

Yep, that's right. It's the most popular character from Undertale himself. Sans the Skeleton. Why him as a boss? Well, his genocide boss fight is what skyrocketed him and the game itself into high popularity to the point even Sans had appeared as a mii costume for Smash Ultimate thanks to requests of wanting to see him in Smash.

So I personally think him being a boss would make more sense rather then being an playable character. Plus, he's a skeleton. So he sorta fits with the Halloween Festival. How would be approached exactly? Well it varies on the difficulty. When you approach him in the hub (also there would be a big spooky shadow of a seemly giant boss outside or near the boss area only to just see its Sans there. If he was pranking the players.) He carefreely just advise to fight him on Easy and just have a good time.

If you do fight on Easy. He would be lazy as ever. With having little HP and standing there. He would just throw slow-moving bones at you which only deal with one damage. When hit once. He'll just fall asleep and let the fighter take a easy win. If you were to fight him on Medium, he would put just a little effort by having the bones move slightly faster and even dodge attacks about 5-10 times but it's basically the same results as fighting him on Easy. However, if you wish to fight him on Hard or Intense. Sans on the HUB will warn the player that they will be having a bad time if they do this. If they choose to do so anyways, Sans will close his eyes and opens them empty, significantly that he's no longer gonna hold back.

Once fighting him on Hard or Intense. Sans become way harder to deal with as the boss becomes more accurate to his Genocide Boss fight. With his attacks having little to no lag.
  • Bones now move way faster now coming in forms of summoning off multiple bones from the ground in forms of danmaku attack patterns, hitting the fighter with not just one damage per a millisecond but poisons them as well damaging the fighter by 4-5 percent.
  • Sans can use Telekinesis to turn the fighter blue briefly before slamming him down. Even worse if there is an bone in the way
  • Sans also will finally unleash Gaster Blasters upon the fighter which does more damage with poison. Just like in the game, the fighter will now need to try attack and make Sans dodge 22 times before he beats you with enough damage.
  • Sans can also teleport by making the screen go black for one second before unleashing an upcoming bone attack pattern at the fighter. This can happen multiple times if Sans were to dodge least 10 times.
Once, Sans had to dodge the fighter's attacks 22 times. He would use one last attempt the finish off the fighter by unleashing an wave of Gaster Blasters coming across the stage for about 20-30 seconds before slamming them to the ground with his telekinesis, no longer able to fight anymore thanks to him getting tired. Allowing the fighter to finally attack him and defeating him in one attack. If playing on intense, Sans will try to keep the fighter in place with his telekinesis hoping the player will give up but he would fall asleep later, allowing the fighter to finish him off.

I meant for us to get started on our next jobs but I became busy. We are nearing our coverage of the Halloween Festival. We have a couple more set of jobs to complete.

Submit a Global Event for the Festival of Fright

We will be submitting an event that is centered around Halloween that will occur for several days within the Festival. Past events included beach volleyball minigames for the Fun Sun Summer Fest, sending messages and hearts to friends during the Festival of Roses, and more. This can be a mini-game type event, an in-hub event, or something that utilizes friend lists. It needs to incorporate aspects of Halloween. Could it be an activity where you hunt ghosts? Defeat zombies? Collect treats? Send Halloween cookies as gifts? Please keep in mind that this should be easily implementable and should not take away too much developmental time from developers.

Submit Five Nights at Freddy's Music

According to Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario Wario , the Freddy Fazbear's stage does not feature any music except for a minigame section that involves Freddy and the band being defeated by players. During this time, music is used on the stage. Wariox# didn't give us much to work with in terms of music selections since, according to Wariox3, the section could be as short as ten seconds to minutes (depending on how quickly the band can be defeated.) That being said, we are still including tracks from a variety of FnaF (minus the movie) which can be used in other stages. This is what we are submitting:

That being said, please indicate the song is used within this minigame by putting an asterisk * next to it so we know this song can be used within Freddy Fazbear's stage. CANDY CRAWL
The moment you enter the Hub, you are offered a choice between Trickers and Treaters. Once every 30 minutes, for 30 minutes, Trick Or Treat sessions begin and the Miis are given the option to hop into a large Smash-themed neighborhood. Treaters travel the map in search of Candy, knocking on doors and exploring the map in search of hidden treats. Trickers, meanwhile, are tasked with tracking down and scaring Treaters out of their candy. The team with the most candy by the end of 30 minutes is the winning team. The winning team will have their full collection of treats divided evenly amongst participating members while the losing team will have half their collection evenly divided amongst participating members.

Ghost Hunt
Spooky spectral sightings have been spotted all around the Smash Hub and have been causing havoc. For this limited time special event, equip special ghost detection gear and look for clues and follow trails as you try to find hidden ghosts. These mainly take the form of the Luigis mansion ghosts but also others like Boos or Pac-Man ghosts. Once you find a ghost you can take a picture, which gets you points for your score in the event.

Around the smash hub there would be specific minigames that you could play those giving some sort of reward maybe collectibles or currency for other collectibles.
The minigames would feature three characters with a painted face to represent an halloween monster (zombie, frankenstein, skeleton) and other popular face paintings like a tiger or a clown, hell you could even make some of them reference other characters like louie having a mario mustache for the face painting! you could then pick which one you think it is (imagine the minigame asks you which one is zelda and then you would have to guess which image is zelda with a face painting).
although this wouldnt be the most difficult thing in the world since some characters have very obvious and recognisable features it would just be fun seeing them with face paintings.

We are submitting Festive Colors based on Halloween and other "scary tropes" for our characters. Fall-time-related colors are also permissible. Remember, this is meant to just change the colors of the character; not the full costume.

Submit Festive Costumes for Characters

We will submit a Festive Costume for Characters that is geared toward Halloween, Scary content, and Fall Time. You can either pull from a reference from a costume from an actual game OR your own designed costume. I was considering doing "costume swaps" for characters but I decided to hold them off until next year's Halloween festival. This was designed so we can get "scary Halloween costumes" out of the way. Mii Costumes will also probably reflect this focus next year.

Festival of Frost (2nd time to do this festival, focus on New ears Day as opposed to Christmas)

Halloween Festival

In between those, we will be having festivals you all submit which can include festivals that focus on a single franchise.

god DAMNIT!,really that need to repeat the past festivals?
That's fairly common in many live service games, even Nintendo ones like Mario Kart Tour and Fire Emblem Heroes where they have annual events for Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's, Spring, Summer, etc. We're also getting other brand new festivals that we vote on interspersed anyways, and the holiday festivals still have plenty of potential content to add, so I don't see anything wrong.
