The Killer Shack
Dead by Daylight
I do not know the series well but it is my understanding that the Killer Shack is a place of refuge for survivors from the horrors that await them. The stage is similar in function to the Mishima Dojo stage with walls enclosing on both sides and a smaller roof. Inside the shack are various lockers and survival equipment meant to outlast the evils from the outside. Now, inside the Shack is the scary party because, unlike the Mishima Dojo, the walls will collapse when damaged. After about a minute, the walls will collapse unveiling one of several locations from the
Dead by Daylight series
- MacMallian Estate
- COldwind Farm
- Autoheaven Wreckers
- Yamaoka Estate
- Backwater Swamp
Once the walls go down, it shows a new location from the
Dead by Daylight series which has a single platform in the same vein as Wii Fit Studio in that either side is a walk-off platform and is entirely flat. That being said, various obstacles can be destroyed, picked up, and thrown, or can cause explosions. After about 2 minutes or so, the shack gets brought back up and repeats the process but shows a new location. The locations are in random order and one location, like Autohaven Wreckers, may show up twice in a row.
Some Killers are associated with these locations and appear infrequently during the match. They cannot be KOd but can be staggered to allow for some time. They can damage players and some attacks are equivalent to the Ultimate Chimera from New Pork City. Now, like some other stage bosses, these Killers can be "KOd" which means dealing enough damage to earn their unholy allegiance. This can end at any time and resets the Killer's allegiance which makes it even more terrifying.
Here is the list of locations and which Killer appears where...
Image | Name | Killer | Description |
| MacMIllian Estate |
The Trapper | The MacMillan Estate is a dark location that is littered with mining equipment. The background is abandoned and dilapidated mining structures along with a mine that glows with an eerie red light. The Trapper lays down Bear Traps and then foes to town using his giant cleaver. |
| Coldwind Farm |
The Hillbilly | While most of these locations are at night time, Coldwin Farm takes place in the late evening when the sun is setting. Corn rustles in the background as rusted and unused farming equipment litter the area. Crows circle about looking for a meal. The Hillbilly uses a hammer for basic attacks followed by charging chainsaw attacks. |
| Autohaven Wreckers |
The Wraith | A trash heap with discarded, rusted cars hides a sinister secret. Old cars and trucks litter the frightscape in the background with ominous eyes popping out. The Wraith patrols this area and will attack using a makeshift weapon but can become invisible and then reappear while active on the stage. |
| Yamaoka Estate |
The Spirit | A once proud Japanese estate is now in ruins with spirits lingering on the land. Tombstones, terrifying oni statues, and broken lottery a strew about the stage and using these main stir the anger of The Spirit. She uses a shattered Katana to attack foes. Her main abilities is teleporting in and out of view and performing sneak attacks along with wailing, paralyzing screams. |
| Blackwater Swamp |
The Hag | This sprawling swap features little in the way of accommodations as shacks sink into its muddy waters. Discarded items from possible other Survivors or denizens of the swamp such as gas canisters, lawn chairs, barrels, and more can be used for defense. The Hag prowls these swamps and attacks using her cursed claws. She can also release a burst of dark magic which immobilizes players can causes the magic to rack up damage. |
All in all, this stage truly embodies the sense of horror. The beginning causes players to rack up damage only for the walls to drop and allows players to be KOd with the high damage they received during the opening portions of the stage. Finally, with the presence of Killers, this adds another layer of fear and the fact they can be conquered but that allegiance can be stolen by other players or even erased by the Killer themselves.
Omega and Battlefield forms is just the shack set against MacMillan Estates without the walls on either side on a floating platform.
