Game Mode Crafting: Smash Hub
Smash Hub is the area where players can congregate to participate in online battles, purchase items, showcase Mii outfits, and more. Our Smash Ub area is based on
GolisoPower
's description of it...
Game Hub Name:
The Great Fray
Game Hub Appearance:
The Great Fray is a massive temple on a floating island, much like some of the background elements of Smash Wii U and Smash Ultimate's floating islands. Whenever you arrive to this hub after booting up the game, an airship from any universe in Smash (Bowser's Airship from Mario, a Titan from Xenoblade 2, the Myouren Temple's boat form from Touhou, Crazy Dave's Time Machine from PvZ, etc.) will drop your Mii off and the temple's interior will be revealed. The layout is as follows:
- A large arena at the center where other Miis can challenge each other to Smash battles. This is the Online Battle section in the traditional menu.
- A fashion shop where Miis can change both their appearance and their outfits. This is the Mii Section of the menu.
- A small arena housing the game's Local Modes, such as Free-For-All, Story Mode, Smash Trials, etc.
- A large library where you can gather information about Spirits.
- An evil-looking portal leading to the game's Boss Raids.
- A square trapdoor leading into the Smash Dungeon mode.
We need to add vendors to the space to help facilitate this area. We will be drawing from Smash's vast library of universes to act as vendors. These need to be characters that are not playable yet are fairly recognizable to gamers. We need vendors for the following locations:
- Online Battle Vendor
- Includes Versus, Tournament, and other online options.
- Fashion Shop Vendor
- Includes Mii Outfits as well as a place to change your Mii's appearance
- Regular Shop Vendor
- Costume variations that are locked, stage variations, music, etc
- Local Mode Vendor
- Single Player content including Training and Episodes
- Spirits Vendor
- Spirit Board and Spirit Battles
- Boss Raid Vendor
- Smash Dungeon Vendor
- Smash Dungeon-related content
These characters obviously need to be connected to the concept behind each vendor to better connect them to it. They should also incorporate the personality of that character in their conversations with players.

Submit Collectables
This is where our new collection aspect comes into play where we can further customize Mii's in a variety of ways. This job and tomorrow's job will facilitate that. Here is the list of collectibles that can be utilized on Smash Hub:
- Airship
- Players fly into islands at the start of the game as well as after each match. People are able to skip past the flying animation but the airship will remain stationed for some time. Certain ships are rarer.
- Speeder
- Given the size of the area, players can either fast-travel to areas or use Speeders to move from point A to point B. Speeders can be a number of things but the default is a hoverbike.
- Emojis
- Players can access Emojis to give an Eomji face which hovers as a thought balloon over the player.
- Poses
- Harness your inner Fortnite and break out dance moves.
- Tags
- Tag the place up with tags and stickers ranging from simple words to symbols, logos, to gaming images.
For now, we will be submitting Airships and Speeders.
Airships
Airships come in a default variety with a sci-fi-like spaceship (think Cowboy Bebop/Destiny) which can be painted in a variety of colors as well as patterns such as camouflage, flames, zebra, and more.
For an Airshop, you can submit the following content:
- Submit a Type of Pattern Paint (like the aforementioned zebra, camouflage, etc)
- Submit a Specific Airship (Samus' Gunship is a good example)
- When submitting for either, a Rarity class must be put to it to indicate if it is Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Master
The Airships are purely cosmetic and do not function beyond it.
Speeders
Speeders allow players to move from point A to point B using a Speeder if they don't want to fast travel. Remember Gold and other items can be found in the Hub World so travel is key.
Much like the Airship, Speeders have a default appearance that comes in a variety of colors and shades but also patterns.
We will be submitting both patterns for the hoverbikes as well as Speeders based on various "transportation"-type items. These include things such as Epona, Wario's Bike, etc.
As for the basis of these two items, obviously specific Airships and Speeders need to be based on pre-existing constructs from established universes. Ideally, I want to prioritize franchises that are repped by a character or a stage. If you have any questions, feel free to as me something would be ok.
We will do the rest later on in the week.
