Huzzah! My new graphics card got here today!
It's slightly better than the one I could have stolen from Andrew!
But still miles ahead of the x1650 that I've been using!

50 Terranite? Really?
When I first read this I thought you were saying that you have the best GPA. Needless to say, I had to reread the post. :p

Josh, I'll be in around midnight and we'll call you then.
Lol I have a 4.0 at memphis so far >.>
And haven't missed a single point in any of my classes this semester lol

Hey MattieG, come to SMYM

Also, in my travels, I have found this:

Kirby: Can I eat you so I can do Falcon Punch too?
CF: Eh...Uh...sure...just be gentle.
Kirby: Yaaaay!

Ah, wat?
Lol, according to newegg the card I have is the best AGP model produced. (said this when I bought it in winter of '08)

Lol, sky, go look at the kirby forums.

I have a card two versions later than yours, from a slightly worse company than sapphire (XFX HD4650).
It's theoretically MUCH better than yours, but in reality barely beats it in benchmarks.
Still, it was cheaper, smaller, and came with a lifetime warranty.

...

That's an entire thread devoted to kirbyciding ... I hate your character.

Quick questions:

Anyone want to smash before the tourney on sat?

Are people actually at the venue at at 11am? I've never been to this one, and I don't want to show up and look around for a place I've never been to.

Is parking at the corec aquatic area still safe?

For this PPR business, does making it out of doubles pools count as making it out of a pools thing, or is it singles only? I haven't yet decided whether to care about the PPR yet, we'll see if I'm decent enough for being unranked to make a difference first...

Do you main your favorite character? If not, why not?

Your vagueness is misleading. I did indeed look at the kirby boards.
There was indeed a thread about kirbycides, and yours was the last post.
I just assumed that's what you were talking about and moved on with life.

No one shows up to these things early, much less on time! That would be atrocious!
I'll be there right at noon, so I don't have to wake up before I have to.
As for when the administration shows up ... well, that's usually anyone's guess.

Yeah, the aquatic center is still safe, and so are most of the ones behind Wiley Dining Hall.

4.) singles pool

Rats, I wanted to play some melee asap...

So zephyrmace, I was wondering...the guy in the red wins, right, because the dude in black touched the ground with something other than his feet first. That would be a legit way to win a sumo match.

He wins cuz the one in black touched the area outside of the circle while the red guy was floating. lol

I made a thread. It is now locked. That's what I was pointing out, not some thread I posted in.

Voorhose, have you ever tried Falco?

The way you play Fox is pretty similar to Falco.

Speaking of Fox, I should prolly drop this character.

Spoilers, my DK didn't lose any 1v1s today, I guess I shouldn't follow the tier list for now.

ok guys, who ever played me, any advice?
who did i use the best? (why)
You are scrub. In all of our 1v 1 matches today I JV 5'd you. With kirby, while blindfolded and eating a large sandwich. ... with my feet... and playing beautiful violin sonatas with my hands.... on a gamecube controller.... Too bad we didn't play and 1 v 1 matches today.

Good tourney guys, I hope those oreos were tasty. Thanks to all who played me. Criticism is always welcome and asked for. Fro, I know you were saying something about my "break" and using hand gestures, but I didn't really get it, would you mind explaining again?

I've decided I might have gotten better over the past 7 months of not playing, but everyone else has gotten better by a greater margin, I have to step it up or all of the voorheses will start rolling me. And fox is my favorite matchup with falcon, tech chasing is amazing and fox's lazars don't disrupt you. Although I didn't play any icys, I usually love that matchup because you can dair and knee a lot.

Oh, and Brain, sorry for being super inconsistent. 1st time at floats I got 6 kills. 2nd time I played awful... although it could have been our fault for picking such a goofy stage. :D goofy stuff tends to happen.

Thanks to ckit for accepting oreos as an entry fee, I'm rather low in the fiscal department.

All in all, I had a great time, it is a pleasure to play some melee again.

Oh and voorhese, mario is faster than falco?:p

EDIT: /me just realized.... I've made it out of singles pools before. Just not since my break.

My first tourney... (I think)

He plays Wilson in house for crying out loud ...

And he does kinda look like Jay ...

And ya wanna know how I managed it?

You're jealous. I can tell.

But seriously, nice playin' guys. Especially CNN. XD
Ya carried me pretty d*mn well after I stopped using yoshi.

Skylar lost $11 because he gave me a $1 so I could enter singles (I was a buck short).

I was thinking of shouting out to people, but I don't know if I can do justice to how insane this tourney was. I'll put in a few things off the top of my head:

George: J-man mode is too good! Way to bring that Pound experience in!

Carl: Sorry you couldn't get to bust out that DK against my Samus.

Goose: Pardon my scarcity around these parts lately, but after yesterday you have an idea, no? :)

Deesz Nutz: Thanks for helping me keep my head outta my *** during grand finals!

I want to put in more, but my brain feels like mush.

EDIT: This one goes without saying, but thanks to everybody who congratulated me after the tourney!

This was a crazy tournament indeed, gentlemen. I was pleased with the turn-out, especially given the venue debacle (which we will do our best to avoid in the future); on that note, DJ, be sure to thank the brothers for us for letting us use the "basement." Please note the current PPR rankings and, of course, this tournament's results; either 'Fro or myself will update the first post with these in the coming day or so.
