That happened to me in one of the very early missions. I think it only shows up on certain levels, because I've definitely died many times on later levels and I've never seen it since that first time.
As soon as I got the final star on the last Galaxy on the Daredevil run, my power went out and I didn't get the chance to save. The last Galaxy can be a huge pain on the flip switch, with Cloud Mario since I can't get his timing when he lands everytime the electric ring traps come. I have a feeling if I might not get pass the fourth, or sixth part of this Galaxy anymore
. Should I cheat after this? Though I wouldn't be able to live right if I did. ._.☆
That god**** melty molten galaxy screwed me over with Rolling Down Rolling Lane or whatever that level was called. I always got to the end until I started rebounding against the walls. I had to get cosmic guide to do it for me >_>
I also hate the galaxy with the rotating parts. It annoyed me when I was trying to beat the thing adn I couldn't get to the star, or get the coins that I needed to get the secret star .
But the Throwback Galaxy actually makes that god****ed place worth it :D. I was kinda hoping that they would put the level with the bomb omb king instead...
Clockwork Ruins really irritated me. It wasn't the difficulty on whether or not to die, I just kept falling through and couldn't make any progress because I had to climb back up, only to fall again.
lol I never remember the names of these galaxies unless they are really memorable like the
Throwback Galaxy
which is like the best galaxy in the whole game next to the one that
you ride the Yoshi up the walls and has that Super Mario World music on
(lol yes, memorable, but it has such a weird name XD)
I also hated that galaxy that
had all those boos. It wasn't the actual galaxy, just the planetoid that is really dark. I spent like 15 minutes walking through the thing lost and with 1 health point until I finally found the launch star XD
I still haven't beat the game yet though >_>
But yeah, don't be afraid to waste the money on this game, it's really worth it
Clockwork Ruins bores the hell out of me. Bad music, bad environment, I just don't like it. It doesn't help that I had to keep playing it over and over to find the Comet Medal and the third green star.
I have 241 Stars now. Getting the last one suuuuuuuuuuuucks D:
I'm even more excited to see what they do with Zelda Wii. No direct info about the game has been released, but from what I experienced in SMG2, I can sense the direction.
You know the one thing that kinda irks me about this game? Some of the animations are the same like when mario gets a star, launches off a launch star, coming back to the starhip mario after a mission, etc.

I don't really see a problem with this. I mean wasn't Super Mario 64 like that, with the exception of getting a star underwater (he does a flip or something)? Most of them are him doing a peace sign and then the camera either centers, or rotates and moves away.
I mean they did give you other stuff, and when you're on Yoshi you get a different screen. Not all the stars you get are an automatic "coming back to the same spot on Starship Mario". I do see what you mean though, they probably could've been more creative.
☆ I finally got all the stars. I must say, I'm glad to complete the game due to how hard it was to get the final star, and **** that was the hardest level in the game for me. >.<☆
☆
I completed the game in 28:22:52 and died 304 times. I put this as a spoiler because you can see the time and death count when you complete the game
. This game and Super Mario Sunshine was the longest Mario platfomrers I played. Anyone would like to share thoughts on the game over all? Of course some people are already saying it already. =P☆
[collapse=contains SPLOILERS]can someone explain to me how the ghost thing with weegee works? Do I have to redo every level to unlock the ghost, and how do I complete a ghost mission? I always lose him halfway through.[/collapse]

[collapse=Spoiler Answers]You get the ghost after you complete a level with Luigi. If you cant keep up with him, follow the green arrows and usually it leads you to a secret place you might not have found. That is what I have noticed anyways.[/collapse]
I'm still waiting for my Wii to be returned from Nintendo after the laser that reads the discs stopped working. Funny, I always see other people on forums posting about this same dilemma and I get to laugh while I enjoy the game.
It's not so funny this time :/ Karma is a *****. My Wii broke the day Mario Galaxy 2 came out.
The game play videos looks TREMENDOUSLY fun, though. It'll definitely be worth the wait.

Happened to me too =\ Like...the Monday after SMG2 came out my Wii stopped reading discs. Thank god it was hacked so I just put it on a hard drive and it was only two days when I couldn't play.
I'm only at 92 stars or so right now, only because getting 10th prestige level 70 on MW2 came first over this game Now that that's over, maybe I can concentrate on getting all of the stars. Apparently there are a few difficult ones. For once I'm happy to see something difficult because although the game is fun, I'm getting sick of running up the hill and jumping on a goomba for a star. Done that about 92 times so far and it's not exactly the most challenging thing ever, oh well.

It's not exactly the hardest game ever but there is so much variation that it is just an insult to say every level is "running up the hill and jumping on a goomba for a star"
in sweet mystery galaxy, if you get the first flag and die, you can see a lot of star bits in the distance when you respawn, grab them all, then die again and repeat. this is faster than mmg star 2.
I agree with the 2 mentioned.
I got the maximum 999 on Melty before I finally managed to finish it.
you get about 70-80 each life and there is an almost guaranteed 1-UP.

I guess I just don't like how a lot of the levels seem the same. There's a lot of variation, but most of the game is a breeze. I'm finding some levels more difficult now though.
Heck yes. I just got through it a few minutes ago, it was pretty terrible lol. Once you have a gameplan though it gets more bearable.
This was one of the best games I've had the pleasure of completing 100% in a long time, no lie. Even though this game was easier than the first there were also less tedious/lolwtf-difficult stars (except for
Stone Cyclone, that stage is horrible, so many lives lost -___-
). I'm really sad that it's over. But I do need to go back and 100% the first SMG now that it's summer...
Cosmic Cove = favorite stage. Great music, great atmosphere, fun stars. Cosmic Cove, Sweet Mystery, Space Storm,
and Flip-Out
Galaxies had some of the best songs, and it was good to hear some of the old songs return. But really the entire soundtrack was incredible, my hat's off to the Super Mario Galaxy Orchestra.
I thought I wasn't going to like this game at first, but it was worth every penny. Anyone who's capable of buying this should do so ASAP.
