SSBM Graphics Hacks!

Here's some graphics hacks I took pictures of, while playing on the Dolphin Emulator:

Super TOON Bros. Melee (gives the game a cel-shading look):


Super BLOOM Bros. Melee (adds Bloom Lighting):


Super MADWORLD Bros. Melee (makes the game black and white, plus a bit of red here and there):


Super ACID TRIP Bros. Melee (crazy colors):


So far my favorite is Bloom, it makes the game look beautiful in motion. Everything flows together nicely. This is different from Texture hacking because all the original textures are kept the same, only the shader is added to change the graphics.

I think I like the acid trip one the most, just from the screen shots.

The Bloom melee looks way too intensely bright and annoying to me, but I'll take your word for it, as all I've seen are pictures.

All of it looks pretty awesome.

I swear I've seen the Acid Trip one before...did you set dolphin to "wireframe only" or something? Or was it a filter hack?

I went to to the graphics settings in Dolphin and changed the Post-Processing Shader to acid_trip2. I didn't turn on wireframe mode.

Madworld looks like a comic book; that would be pretty interesting.

I gotta agree, though, Bloom lighting makes the game look much better. Best mod of the four

All of them are effects that I could replicate in photoshop, which was why I thought you were just having us at first

Bloom is god-tier. Melee is just too good, now that we're able to take the game to a whole new level, I hope the community grows .

Is there a way to alter the Melee ISO with these shaders and burn them to a disc which can be played with backuploader?

I really should be asking "how are you applying these shaders?"

Not that I know of.

I'll show how to use graphics shaders in an upcoming video.

The toon style is easily my preferred of the four. It transforms, stylizes, and personifies Smash Bros. the best. I would absolutely love playing with this preset - it'd give me a great reason to pick Melee back up (can't even remember the last time I played Smash Bros. at all).

Fantastic. These are unbelievably awesome.

It almost looks like a comic book in some shots.

NEW graphics hacks in the latest version of Dolphin:



Yes, that's right. Stereoscopic mode. That means you can play with 3D ****ing glasses.

Would it be possible to load this through the Wii? (Homebrew channel or something)?

Cell-shading and the lightning effects = Win.
