umm idk google it i personally haven't bothered to look for it cuz i went to blockbuster yesterday and it was in the front page of a magazine and they had a pretty big article on it so yeah =/

lol and i get you guys about it being weird and embarrassing lmfaoo!! the sword looked very out of place like they just stuck it on sonic and its just there especially when he's running lmao! but at least im glad that they found a new way to kill enemies instead of tapping A or B twice (homing attack -_-)

but you have to admit it'd be pretty cool to have sonic with a sword next smash game haha

I swear, that sword is way to big for sonic. I dont buy the whole thing with sega wanting to go back to sonics roots.

I'm having a hard time imagnining sonic doing a spindash with a sword if they give him a sword in the next smash game. They would probably do away with all spinning ball attacks altogether.

I'd rather see it as a final smash if they are still in the next game.

lol w/e i find it pretty cool it just seems kind of out of place when he holds it. and imagine if you spin dash but when you do you have a sword spinning with you lmao! idk i think it would be cool too see sonic in the next brawl have a sword so im not complaining and you never know it might turn out to be a decent/good game. it said that it had a somewhat RPG element kind of like with items and there were over 200 so we'll see. and yeah thats the magazine that i read.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the Sonic RPG. The Sonic series is one of my most favorite series (Mostly the 2D times) and I love RPGs. So I'm hoping that combining the two can have great results.

One of them being that the title is "sonic the black knight" when the pic from the magazine says "sonic AND the black knight".

And another is that this should be in that other section on smashboards where people talk about other games.

so im guessing for the next entry of smash (i know i know its far far away -_-) sonic is probably going to have a sword (hopefully!) and priority problems will be boosted up a bunch! even tho it still depends on the develepors of smash to give him the amount of priority n stuff but w/e....sonic with a sword is still pretty bada$$ so we'll see ^_^

If Sonic has a sword in the next Smash Bros I'll probably cling even tighter to Melee. I can't believe there are people that WANT to **** Sonic by giving him a weapon when Sonic was never meant to have one. Shadow, okay, he's emo, not Sonic, whatever. Sonic, I will not tolerate.

Plus, think of it this way; it would be like giving Fox the staff from Adventures. It's a spinoff, why are they going to include that in his character? People that want that really make me sad because it just shows that true Sonic fans are a dying breed. I don't care what you say, you're not a true Sonic fan if you think it's good for him to have a sword.

Giving Sonic a weapon was the last thing they need to do. As DS_Dragon said, I don't buy that they're trying to bring him back to his roots, it's just a load of **** they keep feeding us so they can keep making all of these "creative" games and still have old Sonic fans buy the games. They need to figure out that if they try to have their cake and eat it, too, people are going to get pissed off and eat their cake for them.

I'm just saying that I'm not as concerned about Shadow, and it annoys me but I'll tolerate it. I don't believe there's an excuse to give any Sonic characters a weapon either, that was never the point of the franchise. I never really liked the idea of Shadow having a weapon either, but compared to Sonic, considering I don't like Shadow that much, it seems much smaller to me.

Wait, so are you a Sonic fan at all? And I believe Sonic is really all that Sega has left, so if they stop making Sonic games, they're pretty much done (Though I wished that they would spend enough time on each Sonic game to have a nice impact like the major Mario games have. Sonic 06 had the chance, but then they go and decide to release it unfinished).

If they decide to even take the idea of going back to classic 2D (Anyone seen that Megaman 9 trailer with the 8-bit graphics?) and make a Sonic 4 or something.....

, I like everthing up to SA2Batlee thing,(mostly due to the chao thing), but everthing else sucked, I remeber how in the first game you saved animals and kicked robonick azz, Second one, same as first+flying partner, new stages cool catch tunes, number 3 was even better, the 2D was more detailed and the story seemed right for a simple 2d running game. S&K is best in my opion, special when you put S3 in the top and play 12 zones(I beat it with tails).

It's funny the first time sonic tryed 3D it was not recepted well (sonic 3D) ironic.

They should stick with 2D, i love the GBA ones and I own mega colection+.

From what Nintendo Power said, you should be able to just slash while you're running down and it won't slow you down at all.

Which is stupid. Why are you giving him a sword if it's practically useless and you just stick-waggle and you're good, when you know it's not going to be receieved well?

I'm guessing this is going to be an experiment like how Nintendo gave Mario FLUDD and Luigi the Vacuum. Though, those 2 items did many things for the gameplay elements. Sonic using a sword seems to just try a "cool" factor (Though, I do love swords. <.<) Eh, unless the sword has some interesting feature, it just feels like it might be a new way to attack. Though, this could also mean that the game will be focused more on combat with the sword and enemies getting in your way instead of speed and just spin dashing through enemies.

I can understand them trying to sticking with a 3D concept for console games. Sonic is one of those iconic characters just like Mario and Link, who both have stuck to the 3D world fine. The handheld games provide the 2D stuff that old time Sonic players want. I just wondered why they couldn't have kept the same movement that Sonic Adventure had and just used that for more 3D Sonic games. It gave a perfect feel of accelerating and speed, and the only problem was the camera angles. That was one of my biggest gripes about Sonic 06 and Shadow the Hedgehog. If only the controls and feel of speed felt the same as the adventure series, I probably would have enjoyed those games way more.

Sonic doesent need anything except his red running shoes, and sawblade quills to be cool as hell.

maybe if they just did another game like SA1/2 or the original sega games, but newer and perfected.. (like the new mario DS game)

and why are they always trying to bring sonic to a new genre?? i mean.. dont get me wrong.. im cool with sonic in RPG.. but its just not needed.... look how long megaman has been in the side-scrolling shooter genre... and he is still going! lol

Some did ignore it, but others (like myself) just think it's a lame excuse for a lame concept.

Even if a sword makes more sense in the time period he's supposed to be in as opposed to his own time, it still NEVER makes sense for Sonic to be swinging a sword around because it just isn't in his character.

Even if we threw Mario back into medieval times, and everyone there was using swords, would you want Mario to pick one up and start hacking?

Trick question — It doesn't matter what you would want Mario to do because Nintendo would NEVER put Mario in that position. Because it's a dumb concept to begin with.

No one ignored it, I chose not to respond because...there's no reason to respond. It's not okay, because it's still another BS Sonic game. Secret Rings was awful, why would they make a sequel?
