As for the crews thing, the only problem would be getting everyone to join, I mean doubles already has problems getting participation, crews could be worse.

you'd wind up with at MOST 5/6 crews I'd say
NNR, HSW, COS, Brampton, and Davids crew(???)/another crew composed of whoever is left
Of course the more likely result is winding up with 3 or 4

6 crews would be dope. We'd just need everyone to actually confirm beforehand, instead of just showing up and having nothing organized.
Also we'd need to set rules/pricing, I'd say something like $25 per crew? 3-5 people, 20 stock.
I'd assume there wouldn't be money problems seeing as it would replace doubles right...

Somehow I think 6 crews would be a miracle. I think anymore then 4 would be a miracle in fact. Doubles ftw.

Everyone wants to do crews so badly. I think I have an idea to make them both fun AND fair. Chances are, peoples money won't get wasted this way either. The general consensus (and I'm going to try to be completely realistic here), is that NNR will undoubtedly sweep crews. To avoid this silliness...I have an idea. One thats been accepted by many of the community I have mentioned it to.
Basically...CREW DRAFT PICKS!
We have __ number of captains. For the sake of less underscores, lets make it 6. Me, Jake, Ryan, Ambrose, Nate, David.
Everyone gathers in one area - preferably the living room, and the captains choose their teammates. I think that using this method, we can have ALOT more fun with the game. I know we each have our own crews and ****. But I'd much rather like to see the turnout of a big ol' random GTA crew battle, than witness the turnout of well...
NNR coming first.
I've talked to alot of people about this, and most agree that this is the way to go.
Also, using this method would allow alot of people who aren't on a crew, or haven't experienced a crew battle before, have some fun playing for a team. I wouldn' actually mind taking out doubles for THIS idea.

I'd say keep doubles.
Then do draft crews.
Then do a randomly generated double elim singles bracket, NO pools.
The only problem with draft crews is whichever crews get 1st/2nd pick get a big boost.

oh my god why do you guys love crews so much? Do you guys really wanna take out singles pools? Hell no, **** that. Just because you guys **** in pools, it doesn't make it fair to the others who come out to rob them of matches against us. And doubles is in too. Those are the two most skillful things when it comes to smash.
I'm ok with crews but DEFINETLY not in lieu of singles pools then brackets, and/or doubles.
Also, the timeline should stick, doubles, singles, crews or w/e at the end if we have time.
