i suggest melee double elim (manual seeding by skill n location, no pools)
brawl double elim (pools for 50+ entrants to eliminate ppl, otherwise no pools)
brawl doubles

o snap first big brawl tourney!

Thanks for your suggestions but NO. I believe I will continue hosting Smashpocalypse in the same fashion as before, as a haven for Melee players such as myself. Melee will take top priority, we will do singles and teams in that event and Brawl will be run afterwards.

I'll probably do Melee Singles without pool and then Brawl Singles after. No way we'll have enough setups to run a good Brawl tourney anyways, we might even just have to do teams for the time being.

how would there not be enough setups almost a month after the game comes out? within a week there will be like 4 or 5 ppl with brawl at drexel, then m2k velocity eggm and dmbrandon have it. thats like 8 setups before its released, and tons of ppl are going to buy it when it actually comes out. melee will still be amazing to have, but what about when a lot of ppl say they will only play brawl, even like good melee players such as velocity?

so if brawl was only doubles, would u do melee doubles?

I'll agree with VaNz. Melee is definitely still priority. I know Brawl will be the stuff and all, but even with a month, not EVERYONE who has Brawl will have unlocked everything. Especially if you've got a bloody annoying job like mine that sucks up a bunch of your free time. Yo VaNz and Tec0. There's something you two gotta post on. >_> Give Eggm your approval. ^_^ Well, that is IF you two approve. Oh and VaNz, thanks for the tips....it helped a lot. O_o

yea melee should have priority, i just hope theres also brawl singles in some form and not just brawl doubles. brawl singles > brawl doubles IMO and let melee have doubles.

its cool, SPOC will be awesome no matter how it is. il just keep quiet and let my early adoption style stay out of suggestions lol

People don't like to travel with their wii's. Tekken DR tournaments that I have seen usually only have 4 or 5 PS3's for close to 40 people.

Brawl doubles > Brawl singles.

Lack of set-ups makes this a lot more efficient, and it won't force people to spend $10 on a game they don't own. It'll be just $5 per person.

Why is everyone in such a rush to usher in Brawl tournaments? It feels like people won't realize how much they miss Melee until a few Brawl tournaments are hosted and some random guys named Marthplayer0334, or Yankeesfan11 wins them. Oh well...

Chibo is the only one who wanted a Brawl tourney and it's not his tournament so I'm not listening. I have faith that I'll lose some attendance with my decision, but the Melee community needs somewhere to congregate and where better than Smashpocalypse. If you're looking for primarily a Brawl tourney, go to CoT3.

melee over brawl because its better. and scar we should wait like 2 months after brawl to have a real tourny cuz we we all play like noobs cuz we dont understand how it works. for example it would be like someone playing in dead or alive 4 and never playing the game so unfair.
