Y1nk still plays tvc too.

great effing game.
megacrash is the best thing to happen to fighting games ever and I feel like it should be instituted in every fighting game forever.

baroque system was pretty cool too.

imo, just a generally well made game.

so sad it got 0 exposure.

Time to message Y1nk!

Yeah, Megacrash and Baroque really help balance the combos out, and make the system a lot less abusive, especially when a good combo can halfway kill a character real fast (dat TBlade B&B for 42B... <3). That said, if I could, I would be playing MvC3, because, you know, people still play that.

Also, if it weren't for Morrigan, I'd totally love to see Megacrash instituted in MvC3. As it stands... I'll take my chances with Zero's OHKOs sooner than see Morrigan survive even longer.

I picked up Marvel since Apex and I'm currently running Amaterasu/Frank West/Taskmaster. I use almost full Glaive Ammy. I feel like Ammy is an amazing anchor, but she's also pretty amazing when she has assists.

Using shopping cart I can set up some pretty annoying approaches and ambiguous cross ups with her. And if I get a hit in almost any part of the stage, and I get a successful TAC in any direction into Frank, I can then use THC (assuming I have at least 2 meters, which I virtually always have), and since Ammy's hyper is so long it allows me to take two pictures as Frank for an instant level 5. If I have 3 meters I can also settle for a level 3 Frank and attempt to kill my opponent with DHC's, which nets me around 950k damage in total usually.

If I find myself with level 1 Frank and I still have Ammy, I can do a random full screen THC punish to gain some levels on Frank pretty easily.

I use Taskmaster mostly because he's a character from one of my older teams and I'm comfortable with him, but he seems to provide good DHC's for my team and is a decent anchor.

I also realized that Amaterasu and Taskmaster are quite interchangeable in my team for point and anchor positions (I do so at the start of some rounds by holding A2). Taskmaster can TAC well into Frank West and the same THC trick works (except I can only take one picture for a level 4).

I tested it out at a local tourney last weekend and it seemed to work alright for me. Any opinions on it?

i like it haha. i think the full screen whiff punishing with THC is one of the most nifty things about having ammy on a team.

haha one of my favorite little pieces of technology: hsien ko doesn't flinch from a TAC counter, she just continues her attack and falls. it gives me assurance that i can always try to TAC if i get a hit after activation, which i can usually do because when people get scared of her armor, i can get walk up ground grabs and combo off it.

Hsienko's hella garbage, but she's cute as ****.

Where's your house at? Please tell me you live somewhere in the bay area that's semi-close to like, Redwood City, cause I hella don't have the internet.

Subbing. Didn't know there were two Marvel threads...

I've been playing since about February and just converted to stick from 360 pad about a week ago. I'm already doing way better and stuff like Doom's midscreen loops are hella easier.

I honestly have never had this much fun with a fighting game since melee. I run ?/Wesker/Doom (usually Ryu or Haggar) I watch vids like mad and was kinda upset I didn't have the same interest at APEX, otherwise I woulda watched all the matches.

How good is wolvie/ryu/viewtiful joe? Or another character besides joe cuz ever since ultimate came out I can't decide on a 3rd character. Someone give me a suggestion that goes good with those two please

If you're running Wolverine and you need a good anchor, Wesker is a good one to consider – his low shot sets up for Wolverine's super loop, he's easy to pick up, you don't have to save meter for him, his assist helps give Ryu combos off of his throws (maybe? I'm not 100% sure about this, but it's something to test), and Dark Wesker is known for tearing apart entire teams on his own. This is, of course, assuming you're running Wolvie on point – if you aren't, you really should be.

For everyone. If you don't know who to play, and you come here asking for suggestions. Everyone in this thread worth anything is going to tell you to play wesker, doom, zero or virgil, regardless of context. Those 4 are top tier, easy, and work well with anyone. Don't ask for team suggestion. I just gave them to everyone forever

Well, yes, but there are clear better/worse ideas from within those groups – Wolv/Ryu/Wesker is miles ahead of Wolv/Ryu/other in terms of team synergy. :awesome:

Also, for the record, I'd recommend Wolverine/Nova/West or something. :awesome: Frank West is ****ing badass.

For the record: I now understand why some people think Strider is one of the best anchors in the game. I still think Dark Wesker is better.

Strider is great, but he's basicaly just a mini dark phoenix that you only have to kill once. He requires all your resources to be max effective.

And even then, he's not very resilient. He's not going to live through a combo by a character who is good. One off hit (which is entirely possible) and your endgame strategy is gone. Without all your resources, he hardly seems as good as standard Phoenix. Definitely not as good as Wesker or Vergil in the back.

I use strider last. I'm kind of bad with him though. To me it seems like he gets one almost free kill with XF and oroborous. But it's hard sometimes to sweep an entire team with him. Once his XF3 runs out he does barely any damage.

And this is why he is worse than both Dark Phoenix and Wesker as an anchor. The only thing that really makes up the difference is that his assist is a ridiculously good anti-air, and a very useful piece of anti-tech for Morrigan/Doom.

it still requires a bit of a timing attack for morrigan/doom, because missiles can hit him out of vajra

I think Strider's best spot is 2nd really. His tools all point to being an on point character, but Vajra is too good of an assist to pass up. I have no clue on how X factor 2 Ouros differs from 3 but I'm going to assume it's not much.

It has Magneto and Wesker, already good lol.

You'd want to take advantage of Trish and Wesker assist on incoming characters since they're godlike in those regards, so I feel you should learn X factor touch of death combos (If Mags needs X factor) and go for the quick victory strategy.
