An all-out war between Wario fans and chumps!

Well, that's not how I'd put it - we do events once every week* to determine which of two options is better, through battle! Select a special hat on the online menu and every time you're matched up with a foe wearing the opposite hat, your victory or loss will be added to the score!

But who cares about "friendly" competition when you've got STUFF! While those hats will be free in local play for all players once the event is over - phooey - only those who partook in the event on the winning team can play with the hats online afterwards!

Have fun, and may luck be in your favour-a! Have fun, and be sure to play on my team!

*"week" in universe time, not our time. We'll be doing these the same way we did music, FSes, and animations for base game

Submit our first conquest!
Please submit the first rivalry for our first conquest, as well as its associated hats! This can't be based on a licensed or Nintendo IP. I'd advise taking inspiration from Splatoon's Splatfests. Note that if a hat already exists for this rivalry's participants in base game, you can make a new hat based on the same theme - for example, if you want to do Dogs vs. Cats you can't do the dog and cat ears from base game, but you could do dog and cat masks, or dogs and cats in hair like Jimmy T's alts

I want at least one Sonic stage to hail from a modern game, regardless of which Sonic design we end up using. I was going to whittle it down to one area from Colors (Emerald Coast, City Escape, and Eggmanland were all also considered), but I think a touring stage featuring the whole park would be really cool.

Chemical Plant Zone

Probably the most obvious besides Green Hill and City Escape

Blue - collapsing platform
Red - soft platform
Yellow - movement
Green - Grabber movement
Orange - Grabber drop

The collapsing platform randomly collapses. Grabbers slide from the top of the stage and drop down to grab foes. The grabber doesn't go low enough to cover the lower ground however. When the collapsing platform is about to re-appear, the box below it gets flooded with poison to throw the fighters back into the battlefield.

Prophetic Palace

A competitive stage again lmao of the palace where Sonic fights Knuckles, with the prophetic mural in the background,

Red = soft platform
Blue = bottom soft platform's highest movement

The bottom soft platform rises up extremely slowly, with the bridge being a way to recongnise how long it'll be until it returns when it's gone.

EDIT: Made single plat to distinguish from Stage Play and Aurora Icefield.

Submit a new Mario character, and their hook!

Please submit a fighter from the Mario universe, as well as their hook - the fighter can be any Mario character, including ones we previously disconfirmed through stage hazards; items; or ally contacts!

What is a hook? Basically, a less loaded way of saying "gimmick". Something that would encourage people otherwise uninterested in that character to buy them - this can be gameplay based - like a move or mechanic - but it can also be say, having cel-shaded or otherwise unique graphics; having unique voice lines depending on fighter/stage; having alts with unique visual properties; so on, Almost anything as long as it's cool, unexpected, and more than just a minor detail.

Let's be frank, we all know "where's Pauline?" would be the question on everyone's lips if this was a real game. (OK, that and "why are Nintendo suddenly playing buddy-buddy with the PM devs?")

Pauline's hook is her music. While this doesn't effect gameplay, every time she uses a music-related attack it'll be done to the tune of the background music (with the exception of ambient tracks of course, which would just default to the SMB overworld music) - an all-Pauline 8 player match opens up an equivalent to hundreds of new songs!
