Play-Doh

You could do a lot of things with a Play-Doh fighter. Play-Doh could use it’s clay to turn into almost anything you could think of. It could attack from it’s head (lid). Maybe the clay could fall out of it’s limb holes and fight by itself occasionally (similar to a turtle without it’s shell). It could also take almost any form in it’s own color and use pieces of it’s body as weapons (ex. like forming a sword, hammer, etc).

If we add a Kirby-like character who eats or chews foes, they should be inable to eat Play-Doh because it's fun to play with, not to eat.

Optimus Prime (Transformers)

(sorry for large image)
Transformers is one of the longest running toy franchises, having been running in some shape or form since the 80s, so it should get some form of representation. Optimus would have plenty of moveset potential, even from the base concept of a robot who turns into a truck, let alone giving him traits of other Optimuses. Plus, we need at least one giant robot on the roster, and Optimus is probably the most well known internationally.

Tankman from Newgrounds already submitted Optimus Prime, but this was a nicely written entry.

everyone's favorite snake themed evil terrorist

COBRA COMMANDER!

Cobra Commander has plenty of potential for moves, using standard military equipment, more sci-fi style weapons such as lasers, rocket packs, and even shrink rays, as well as his various giant sized (and often snake themed) Doomsday weapons.

I actually almost hate to nomiate the guy because I feel that you can't do Cobra Commander without at least one member of G.I. Joe taking another slot.

Here is Barbie, pasted from another thread.
Barbie
View attachment 346816
Barbie is one of the most famous dolls and toys in general. She's taken on numerous occupations, had many accessories, and even had crossovers and ended up in other types of worlds (fantasy, fairy tales, sometimes sci-fi, etc.).
I messed up with packing and forgot my laptop’s charger, so I’m doing everything on mobile currently. So it may be a bit before the main post gets updated with these, but I am still noting them. Voting can start early tomorrow on these, but you can submit still if you haven’t and you’d like to.

I've seen that kind of Assist Trophy in SSBB, lol
No hate, but, yeah. Optimus Prime should make a great character like people have been saying. Right? As one would.!

I will vote
1. Optimus Prime
2. Barbie
3. Slinky

Optimus Prime and Barbie are both incredibly important, iconic, and have varied moveset potential. The Slinky has the first two down, and would be very unique in terms of their moves, as well, but it would also be incredibly amusing. A lot of these options are great, though.

1. Optimus Prime. I... think he's a no-brainer choice. Call me basic or uninspired, but with a cool movement mechanic, tons of history and an overall cool design, I think he's a really obvious but also solid choice for a game like this.
2. Play-Doh. I think the idea of a stopmotion-inspired character could be so fun, plus playing on the whole nature of Play-Doh as a whole. Not too much to say here, I just think there's so much moveset potential and potential to represent so many unusual and weird things.
3. Mr. Monopoly. I think he'd be funny, but also fun. Seeing his moveset somehow representing the very concept of Monopoly would be really intruiguing! :D

Job #54: Submit a HORROR character!
Doesn’t matter what medium it is here, as long as they are horror themed, though I mostly expect movies or books here

Job 54: Gene (The Emoji Movie)

This is Gene from the Emoji Movie. He would fight using other emojis. He fits the prompt because his movie's rating on Rotten Tomatoes is scary. There are two major reasons why he should be included:
1. He represents emojis, a major part of the internet
2. He represents critically panned movies, a major part of the movie industry

Job 54:
Xenomorph (Alien)

1647543379963.png

The Xenomorph XX121[3], better known just as Xenomorph or the "Alien", is an extraterrestrial hive-based endoparasitoid species with a multi-staged life cycle, possibly originating from the planet Xenomorph Prime.
He comes from Sci-Fi Horror series "Alien", which was made by Fox and 20th Century Studios.
One of the deadliest of all known alien species, these creatures require a host organism in order to reproduce. The appearance of the Xenomorph can vary depending on the host in which the embryo is implanted. The Human phenotype is generally around 7–9 feet (~ 2.13 - 2.74 meters) in height and roughly 181.43 to 272.15 kilograms (400-600 pounds) in weight, with a long, muscular tail and large, curved, oblong head. The Queen of this species is generally twice as large (although some Queens have been shown to grow even larger, some surpassing 30 meters in height if given time) and possesses superior speed, strength and intelligence compared to her common offspring.
He is one of Movie icons and he is one of popular aliens in Pop-Culture media, so he counts as no-brainer pick.

He could play like Ridley (No joke intended), since he could use his tail to puncture into opponent as attack or he could use other alien species as attacks like he could use Chestburster attack on someone or even throw a facehugger on opponent, which is clever move for Deadly alien like Xenomorph.
Maybe as one of super moves he could summon Alien Queen to attack the opponents brutally.

I feel that Xenomorph deserves to be in game as playable, since he is no stranger to crossovers like he appeared in Fortnite. Also having a brutal character makes sense for fighting game to be honest. And if we talk about dark content, then just tone it down.

I’ll just be pretty normal and submit Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street series.
1647543810901.jpeg

I think out of the 70’s/80’s slasher horror boom, I think Freddy is both incredibly iconic and, with his dream powers/reality warping, he has a lot of moveset potential. Jason is also a good option, but Freddy slightly edges out for me because of the reality-warping.

As for Gene, it’s a stretch, but it’s kind of funny, so I’ll allow it for now.

I’ll see about an alternate submission later on.

Freddy K (2).jpg

Freddy Krueger is the main villain of the Nightmare on Elm Street series.

When Fred Krueger was alive, he murdered children. Eventually he was caught by the parents of his victims and burned alive. After he died, he became something far worse. Empowered, by three "dream demons" Freddy would live on in the nightmares of teens. He could twist their dreams into nightmares altering them in any way he saw fit. Any injury or death he caused in the dream world would carry over into the real world.

Freddy has appeared in comics, movies, videogames, and has even had his own TV show and music album. Freddy's videogame appearances date back to the original NES era. more recently he's made appearances in the Mortal Kombat games and Dead By Daylight series.

I’m gonna go with one I don’t think others are going to take.
1647546255058.jpeg

The Blob, from the 50’s horror movie, and the 80’s remake, is a seemingly sentient blob that consumes all in its wake. It’s an amorphous blob that eats, so it’s already going to be weird thing to fight, inherently.

Pennywise

Evil clowns are one of the most common horror tropes in all of fiction, plus, if we're adding a horror character then it makes sense to go for a Steven King character, being arguably the most famous horror writer on earth. And while he has plenty of iconic stories, none of them fit in a fighting game quite as well as IT. The elderich nightmare who terrorised the children of Derry, Mane for generations. It's ability to transform would make for a really wild moveset, though of course the main form would be the archetypal scary clown himself, Pennywise. He would have costumes for both the more recent verison and the Tim curry one.

Job 54:Jason Voorhees (Friday The 13th)

Jason is the main villain from a movie franchise called Friday The 13th. Jason is a Serial Killer of Crystal Lake, he is son of Elias Voorhees and Pamela Voorhees, Jason's first appearance was in Friday The 13th Part 2, released in 1981.

Jason is one of the most iconic horror movie villains of pop culture, Jason have a lot of comic books and novels, 2 games, appears in Mortal Kombat X as a guest fighter, appeared in The Simpsons, Family Guy, Robot Chicken and South Park, and he fought against Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre (twice), Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street (twice again) and Ash from Evil Dead/Army of Darkness.

on pop culture clash,Jason's default design is Kane Hodder's Jason and he uses different weapons, but Jason uses the machete more to attack, he would be a semi-swordfighter.

Bray Wyatt/The Fiend (WWE)
1647544375281.jpeg

Bray Wyatt is a professional wrestler who wrestled for WWE from 2009 until late 2021. He has had many characters over the years, but in Pop Culture Clash, fans would be able to play as his most recent incarnation, the lovable host of the not-at-all creepy children’s show, Firefly FunHouse.
1647548250686.png

Similar to Joker’s Rebellion Gauge in SSBU, Bray would have a Fiend Gauge next to his character icon, which would be filled up by giving and receiving damage. Once Bray’s Fiend Gauge is filled, he will become The Fiend, which will change his attacks to be more powerful, and make him harder to knock off the stage. Once the gauge is depleted, though, Bray will return back to his regular self.

Costumes
Bray has 8 costumes, based on different attires he has worn throughout his career.

Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre)

9821665A-371B-4AB1-B7A6-63F6783B750B.jpeg

One of the characters who started the horror slasher genre and one of the earliest examples of a horror slasher character in a live action movie (moreso, during the Golden Age of horror slashers). The Texas Chainsaw Massacre series is really iconic and lots of horror fans recognize Leatherface. Also, he’s no stranger to crossovers as he has appeared in Mortal Kombat.

We have a lot of great horror movie villains submitted so far. Makes sense, horror is all about the evil danger that lurks in the darkness, but I gotta throw one in for the protagonists out there.

Job #54: Ash Williams

1647636561859.png

With animated, action-filled movements, a wild and creative weapon set including his famous chainsaw hand, and some quirky voice lines to boot, Ash Williams fits perfectly into a fighting game. And just as I implied earlier, he really stands out as being the icon of his franchise instead of the Deadite villains, very unique among horror franchises.

Audrey ll (Little Shop of Horrors)

Being from the iconic Little Shop of Horrors movie, Audrey ll would definitely be a perfect fit. While the image I showed is of the big form, a smaller form could be used for its appearance. (Note: This submission is incomplete thanks to lack of proper time for it today, I'll be adding the rest eventually)
