Get ready for a new frontier, we'll be submitting a franchise themed on space and/or alien planets! Please note that franchises taking place on Earth-like alien planets (Pikmin for example) or that only had planetary travel as a theme for 1 or 2 instalments aren't elegible.

A multimedia franchise made by Lucasfilm company and one of most recognizable movie franchises of all time. It's about Luke Slywalker, who wants to defeat Darth Vader from destroying the Jedi. This franchise spawned many popular movies, games, shows and etc.

Racers:
1. Luke Skywalker (The protagonist)
2. Darth Vader (One of most known characters in franchise)
3. Mandalorian & Grogu (Their show was international success)

I think this franchise is an obvious choice for the game since we have many characters and vehicles to choose from.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Doctor Who tends to alternate between a focus on history on Earth and alien planets depending on era, right? If so that should be fine, it just needs to be a franchise with a heavy, (semi-)consistent emphasis on space and/or non-Earth-like planets. Aliens coming to Earth franchises would probably be case-by-case depending on just how much alien action there is. (I don't think I'd permit ET or ALF since you don't see the planets in those and there's only one alien, but Lilo and Stitch may be acceptable due to space and new aliens still being seen often, as would any alien invasion movie given that Earth becomes the alien's planet in those. Superman would be subject to the same "too earthly-looking" restriction as Pikmin)

A series that's set to celebrate its 60th year this november. Alien planets are regularly part of it. Character potential is off the charts, 15 + doctors, companions, monsters, and side characters. Track potential is great, and there's surprisingly high potential for vehicles.

Space Franchise: Metroid (Samus, Ridley, Raven Beak)

Metroid has had a bit of a resurgence in the past few years, with Metroid Dread being released to critical acclaim and director Yoshio Sakamoto hoping for a Metroid movie should the upcoming Mario movie be successful. While it's not the Nintendo franchise I want most (funni monke go brrrrr), it does fit the bill as a space-centric franchise. I picked Samus and Ridley because... duh, while Raven Beak was selected to honor the latest game in the franchise.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Pre-MCU, or even pre-Vol. 2, this would've been a pretty deep cut. However, James Gunn's interpretation of the Guardians of the Galaxy is currently center stage in the most iconic Marvel landscape. Now is the perfect time to add them to the biggest crossover kart racer in the galaxy. We don't have to stick to just the MCU version, though, as the comics provide quite a bit more to work with.

The first three racers would be Star-Lord, Rocket & Groot, and Gamora - though it kills me that I can't put Drax here as well.
